Listener comments!

  12:22am
Rich:

this week visuals http://www.texarcana.com/
one of my favorites from Heavy Metal when it was under the stewardship of Lou Stathis
  12:23am
tahomajohn:

hey Rich! how goes it? Love your shows!
  12:28am
Andrew:

Hi rich ^_^ hi tahoma john. Interesting show tonight
  12:31am
tahomajohn:

Hi Andrew:) Playtime! What a great film. I saw it in 70mm in Chicago at the Music Box Theatre back in the mid 90's when it was re-released...magnificent!
  12:38am
Andrew:

haha...i knew this was from cartoons as soon as it started ^_^
I love this music
  12:38am
Rich:

Good evening tahomajohn and Andrew and anyone else out there. Playtime is a great film. In fact, except for Parade which I've yet to see, I'd say that all his films are pretty great. Trafic makes a good double feature with Godard's Weekend.
  12:41am
Andrew:

The only Tati film I've seen is the one where he's a postman riding a bike around. Watched it with my cousins when we were younger, it was hilarious!
This John Zorn is good, I've heard of him before, but not heard the music....nice! ^_^
  12:46am
tahomajohn:

Traffic and Weekend....oh, the horror and comedy of the automobile! Jour de Fete was awesome. The animated feature The Triplets of Belleville was homage to it...the same filmmakers made The Illusionist... based on a Tati personal experience, i guess... beautiful and fun..maybe a bit sappy... I love film... and film soundtracks! oh boy... some of my faves....
  1:07am
Andrew:

Ah yeh thats it, Jour de Fete....took me about 10 years to find what it was called, thanks to the internet I think...
  1:11am
Andrew:

Thunderbirds! I knew I'd heard this before.
  1:40am
Rich:

A quick reminder to any and all who are listening out there that we are currently having a stealth fundraiser. Shhh! (but be sure to tell all your friends, acquaintances, loved ones, strangers, anyone breathing about it. We are getting closer to our goal and every little bit helps. And we have some great premiums including a t-shirt designed by Jen Uman and a CD of Sun Ra remixes. Thanks to everyone who pledged so far. I'd say thank you on the air as other DJs have but I don't have a list so I'll try and get one for next week.
  1:45am
tomB:

Wasn't Michael Kamen the keyboard dude in the New York Rock &Roll Ensemble?
  1:47am
Rich:

Yes. Also did the soundtrack for Terry Gilliam's Brazil among others.
  1:49am
dave:

i'll up my pledge for a no-holds-barred soundtrack duel between rich and wm berger.
  1:52am
Andrew:

I've heard of Michael Kamen.

This music is good.
  2:04am
Andrew:

I planned to put in $100, split between a few shows...I've done $70 so far & have to wait a bit til I get paid. ^_^
(I put $10 towards you last week)
  2:09am
Andrew:

really? O_O I didn't know that...I love the 365 days project! ^_^

This has been a great show too...looks like another saturday inside listening to radio ^_^
  2:12am
Brad:

M. Kamen did the Lethal Weapon soundtracks (with contributions by Clapton.)
Barry Gray was a bigtime English jazz bandleader, and wrote tons of great themes and scores for the Gerry and Syvia Anderson shows in the 1960's.. His work is similar to John Barry's music for the Bond films and others.
  2:50am
dave:

i had no idea mark mothersbaugh did the soundtrack for the royal tenenbaums. one more reason i like that movie so much, i guess.
  2:51am
Andrew:

Ah, I like the Royal Tenenbaums...didn't know Mark Mothersbaugh did the music for it though? I like his work (Especially Devo & Rugrats ^_^)
but he also did the music for the movie Thirteen...which i hate(the movie & dont like the music)

this has been such an awesome show ^_^
  2:57am
Andrew:

is this guy related to Julio?
  3:00am
Marmalade kitty:

Hi :) great set Rich!
  3:01am
Andrew:

Thanks Rich ^_^
