  9:09am
Biz L.:

I'm joining in, too!
  9:19am
BSI:

So like, my week off (out of town, away from streaming audio) aligned perfectly with Singles week. Missed everything. Of course there's always archives. But to re-live all of it, I'd miss THIS week. Then would need to stream THOSE archives. And therefore miss NEXT week. Commence gnashing of teeth!
  9:20am
Sourveins:

Happy Boo Day, Liz! Great Record Fair as per usual. Hope you guys made a pile. And glad to hear your on the air. A lot of Jersey stations are still not
transmitting because of the storm. Thanks for all you do for us!
  9:20am
AbeSomething:

Starting the day off by ordering that Brain Fruit album. Thanks, Liz!
  9:27am
bw:

I set the alarm so I could rock out with you LB! Happy Halloween
  9:30am
Sourveins:

Plans for this evening, LB? Will we have to shudder in fear at the sight of your ghostly presence tonight?
  9:33am
bw:

a hot and cold mess
  9:33am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

so y'all had some snow up that way I hear. YUCK.
  9:36am
Biz L.:

Today I am the zombie version of myself actually!
  9:38am
Sourveins:

Biz L. Yeah, I guess no heat or hot water can technically turn you into a zombie. Get coffee into you, now! Before it's too late!!!!
now!
  9:40am
BSI:

holy crap this Ra version of Pink Elephants is a riot....
  9:41am
AbeSomething:

This Sun Ra record stands out as 'interesting', even against all of his other 'interesting' records.
  9:47am
dc pat:

wow, what a great song to hear first thing in the morning! Thanks for Nazz!
  9:52am
Sourveins:

Whatever you do, Biz. L, Don't take uppers or downers with black coffee!

  10:03am
dc pat:

  10:05am
dc pat:

Charlie Parker >> Stravinsky
  10:05am
ginak:

My partner and I went as IKEA returns. We cut holes in a IKEA bag for our legs and filled it with packaging, floor maps and stuff. Made hats out of the catalogs and skirt out of paper rulers.
  10:05am
Kelly J.:

I lived in Venice Beach in LA for a year in the late 80's and Dennis Hopper lived down the street so I knocked on his door a bunch of times but was always denied a face to face.
  10:06am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

worst costume I saw this weekend: a giant Tetris cube (like 6 ft wide, 10 ft long, and 5 ft high, with a dude's head sticking out the middle). Took up so much space!
  10:06am
Jennique:

You would make a great DanLiz. At least you and he are the same height! I dressed as a Dia de los Muertos lady with a painted skull face, flowers in my hair, etc. -As for stalking, I did follow Woody Allen on the streets of NYC. This was during the whole Soon Yi trial. He ended up going into Kim's Video and I stopped following him.
  10:10am
Biz L.:

Love the IKEA returns and dia de los muertos costume! Can't believe you had the guts to knock on Dennis Hopper's door more than once, Kelly!
  10:10am
Sourveins:

The Human Pin Cushion. I plan to do lots of hugging tonight. While the wife will be Bloodthirsty pagan warrior Boadicea - with cat ears!!
  10:14am
BSI:

Favorite Halloween adventure was several years ago: I went to work dressed as a typical 19 year old from Laurel, Maryland, circa 1979. This required a black Sturgis rally t-shirt, Marlboro soft-pack, mirrored shades, and baseball cap with CAT logo, worn backwards. Spent the day hanging out in the parking lot of my office. Refused to explain it. Good times.
  10:18am
Biz L.:

Nice Sourveins, you guys are gonna be killer! Talk about being committed to your role, BSI... so funny.
  10:18am
listener james from westwood:

i won a costume contents as sweettooth the killer clown. clown suit + john wayne gacy-ish makeup + a rented chainsaw = the win.
  10:19am
listener james from westwood:

"costume contents." ugh. and i'm a copy editor. "contest." way too early.
  10:22am
BSI:

As a non-smoker, it was an education in gettin' that stank offa me afterwards. One co-worker found me in the parking lot & asked what the hell I was supposed to be. The answer....... "Steve." I think everybody was named Steve in 1979.
  10:23am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

I certainly was
  10:24am
listener james from westwood:

i toted a cigarette for a hunter s. thompson costume once, but didn't light up, so i cheer your commitment to the role in doing so, bsi.
  10:25am
Tim Serpas:

DJ Berlusconi in the house!
  10:26am
Sourveins:

Several years back, I once stalked the prior super from my building because several of the tenant's
pets went missing and I suspected that he was killing them and burning them in the incinerator. Turned out the animals had recently died and that the super was in actuality an amateur taxidermist
who was stuffing the dead pets as per the tenants' requests. Creepy, huh? Well anyway, someone snitched on him (wasn't me) he was arrested for
improper disposal of animal carcasses. Only in
Boston!!!
  10:33am
Sourveins:

Boston??? I meant NYC!!!! Sorry I'm in a Salem frame of mind right now.!
  10:34am
BSI:

Something about the idea of an urban taxidermist seems so delightfully, awesomely wrong...
  10:36am
Sourveins:

Yeah! Real Estate!!!One of the best records of 2011!!!!
  10:37am
Biz L.:

Speaking of taxidermy, check this out (WFMU tee, too):
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/11/preserving-memories-of-pets-and-then-some/

The trailer is amazing!
  10:39am
Jennique:

It's just one small step from stuffing dead pets to humans.
  10:46am
Sourveins:

That adorable kid in the trailer seemed really antsy!! Wonder if she thought she was being.... Oh! Nevermind!!!
  10:50am
Jennique:

How does one become a professional whistler like that? Wow.
  10:53am
Sourveins:

Jennique: Refer to Lauren Bacall for sound whistling advice.
  10:56am
BSI:

Don't piss off the Angakok! (sp?)
  11:00am
Sourveins:

BSI: Info on Angakok; http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/24427/angakok

  11:02am
Jennique:

Sourveins: Laita huulet yhteen ja puhaltaa.
(Just put your lips together and blow in Finnish)
  11:04am
tony:

There's an article about Gacy in Chicago Tribune (4 days ago) about a possible surviving victim that was found. And my son is also dressing up as a killer clown with chain saw coincidentally.
  11:06am
Carmichael:

Good morning everyone, and pass the candy.
  11:22am
Sourveins:

Jennique: Onkin rum avieressä sua, skidi.

(Here's looking at you, kid. In Finnish)
  11:29am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

buttocks grabbing? Well I never!
  11:30am
Sourveins:

Sadly, though, we seem to be having an epidemic of that here in NYC these past few months.
  11:35am
Biz L.:

My friend grabbed Beck's buttocks at a show at Maxwell's a few years ago. She knew there was no backstage and placed herself near the exit ready to pounce. Whoa.
  11:38am
AbeSomething:

I have yet to hear a Liquor Store song I didn't like. Might be time to listen to the full album.
  11:50am
JT:

Lou Reed & Metallica? Damn your eyes! (my ears are now damned).
  11:50am
Jennique:

Is that Laurie Anderson on the fiddle?
  11:50am
Scott:

Ahhh haaa haaa!
  11:51am
AbeSomething:

This album has made being a Lou Reed apologist nearly impossible!
  11:51am
andymorphic:

lol....this is scary stuff kids
  11:52am
Wendy del Formaggio:

It's not often I say this, but, This is worse than I thought it would be! Can we listen to the Bob Dylan Christmas record instead, pleaaaase? At least that's funny and horrible! haha
  11:52am
Cheri Pi:

Please wake me from this nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11:52am
Biz L.:

Brian Turner dared me to play the *whole album* today!
  11:52am
Terrified:

He just said burka, didn't he
  11:52am
Wendy del Formaggio:

But on a positive note, that Asian Women on the Telephone track was fantastic. Love them!
  11:53am
Jennique:

Am I coagulating?!?
  11:53am
Sourveins:

Can't wait for that John Cale/Napalm Death collaborative effort next time out. Or maybe
Me Tucker meets Belphegor.
  11:53am
BSI:

HA! Wendy @11:52: I was just gonna say: Every year must have its Bob Dylan Christmas LP, I suppose....
  11:53am
Cheri Pi:

Damn you BT. Revenge will be swift.
  11:53am
Biz L.:

I think we're all coagulating, Jennique!
  11:54am
andymorphic:

Sourveins@ i bet John Cale/Napalm Death would be good....you might be on to something
  11:54am
Carmichael:

I'm waiting for the tribute album to come out, so I can hear Manhattan Transfer's scat version of this song.
  11:54am
Sourveins:

Please play Metal Machine Music in it's entirety instead.
  11:54am
blip:

so, does anyone really like this Reed/Metallica collaboration?
  11:55am
eirikur:

as long as we are lowering our standards:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9LcJwX9dnE
  11:56am
Sourveins:

No and neither does Jack either.
  11:56am
Totes:

Sounds like ketchup on sushi.
  11:56am
still b/p:

OK, with this one Lou has settled the issue. It is a joke. It's fun to imagine audience faces if these lyrics were delivered at a poetry slam.
  11:56am
Marshall Stacks:

Sounds like Lou's dentures are loose.
Oy.
  11:56am
Robert Moskal:

It kind of sounds like Bingo Gazingo, no?
  11:56am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

no one on this planet seems to, blip.
  11:56am
andymorphic:

this isn't as bad as the exerts.....when you hear a whole track....i am kinda diggin it
  11:56am
Carmichael:

Is he still married to Laurie Anderson?
  11:57am
Dead Haunted Eyes:

I stand corrected
  11:57am
Beanie:

First I've heard this. I'm more disappointed in Metallica than Lou Reed. That's unexpected.
  11:57am
nyc:

Well, that song was very long.
  11:57am
Marshall Stacks:

Now THIS is artistry.
  11:57am
andymorphic:

i said "kinda"
  11:58am
Sourveins:

You're having a Beck at Maxwell's flashback, arent you Liz B.?
  11:58am
AbeSomething:

There were a few moments where the two acts seemed to be aware of the fact that they were collaborating. Those moments were alight.
  11:59am
Marshall Stacks:

That Metallica track reminds me of another in my MP3 collection: Sam Moore & Lou Reed covering Soul Man.
  12:01pm
Sourveins:

Quite A Lulu!!! I agree. Happy Halloween and remember 58 shopping days till Christmas!! Boo-Ray!!
  12:01pm
still b/p:

All those exhortations from Lou to "Jack" reminded of a Dr. Strangelove scene between Mandrake and Gen. Ripper: "You with the old gun, and me with the belt and the ammo, feeding you, Jack! Feed me, you said, and I was feeding you, Jack."
