Listener comments!

  9:20am
Scott:

morning, folks.
  9:21am
Andrew:

Morning - Scott - you are the first woofmoo show I've got to at my new desk in my new job. Auspicious :)
  9:22am
Cheri Pi:

Very very nice!!!!
  9:25am
Scott:

Very happy for that, Andrew. Auspicious indeed. Hi, Cheri Pi!!
  9:26am
bruceleh:

What's with the rock'n'roll?
  9:29am
Scott:

Am I confusing you?
  9:33am
bruceleh:

Not confusing me, but I've become a crusty curmudgeon, and I just don't understand how people my age (50+) still dig rock'n'roll. Its creative juices were long gone by the late '70s. And other than for nostalgia, what's the point of listening to teenage angst at this age? But then again I don't understand why people still read super hero comics, read science fiction or even watch television any more.
Yes, I've been accused of being an intellectual elitist, but like, the Old Codger, I know what I like!
Think I'm gonna go listen to a Dave Mandl archive.
  9:35am
Andrew:

wow - that is curmudgeonly!
  9:39am
jeff-m:

big bunch who fucking cares right back at ya
  9:41am
Pat in Philadelphia:

Boy I'm glad that bummer bruceleh left. That Oh Sees split with Total Control is great! But what do I know I'm only 30.
  9:42am
?:

People dig rock and roll because they have loins!
  9:42am
Scott:

oops, that was me.
  9:44am
Scott:

Anyway, its a fair point. But even Dave Mandl plays rock and roll sometimes!
  9:44am
Scott:

It is freeform radio after all.
  9:45am
Andrew:

I confess - I come to Scott for the long jazz tracks also :)
  9:47am
coelacanth:

i'm up there & i think my passion for "rock & roll" has not diminished in the least. And my passion in general...Guess i still have loins! . . AND "Old Codger's"alter ego (or,one of them) plays rock & roll occasionally on his show.
  9:49am
AbeSomething:

The Boogie!! Yes! That old timer is missing out.
  9:50am
Pat in Philadelphia:

What is this?! More of the devil's music!
“It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” —Ecclesiastes 7:5
  9:50am
T-Zero:

Heh, since when does music have an expiration date?
  9:51am
Brian in UK:

Bruceleh do not beat yourself up. It is a musical sound that we feel the need to call this or that. I have been listening to POP music for fifty years and done well it still sounds great. The fact that those making it could be our grandchildren is neither here nor there.
  9:51am
T-Zero:

Indeed! Brian
  9:52am
coelacanth:

YES. ps- Thank you Scott! I'll be passing through the music all day but may not have a chance to thank you later.
  9:53am
Detroit Mac:

Sounds like a slow version of the Boogie Raves Savoy Brown did at the Grande Ballroom (Detroit) back in the 60s...
  9:54am
Brian in UK:

Hey T-Zero .Day early?

Ecclesiastes 1 'All is Vanity'
  9:55am
Pat in Philadelphia:

The ICA here in Philadelphia had a show wherein four different bands all did versions of Sister Ray. It was fun but exhausting.
  9:55am
Scott:

I do not NOT play no rock 'n' roll. :)
  9:57am
Cheri Pi:

Endless Boogie are the jam band for me; besides the Jam.
  9:58am
T-Zero:

After a week of sleeping due to the flu, haven't felt the need yet this morning to drift off, Brian. :-)
  10:02am
nyc in phl:

I wish Endless Boogie actually was endless.
  10:07am
AbeSomething:

I am so happy this jam is still going. I am enjoying it immensely!
  10:08am
Scott:

:)
  10:11am
Scott:

http://boo-hooray.com/spencer-and-boogie
  10:13am
bruceleh:

And why do they have to play it so loud? :P
  10:14am
Cheri Pi:

I keep hearing little bursts of Marquee Moon here and there too. Nice.
  10:15am
Scott:

You're an inspiration bruceleh! :)
  10:16am
Cheri Pi:

Sold out @ boo-hooray-hope they make more for plebians.
  10:17am
nyc:

The regular edition EB LP is still available (though at $30 it's still stupid expensive).
  10:19am
bruceleh:

Don't get me wrong, I do loves my pop & rock. But highly contextual, like when Monica blasts some juicy 60-70s pop goodness, and what I do still enjoy listening to is WEIRD or highly ironic pop & rock. For example, Residents Buster & Glen/Duck Stab, Massacre Killing Time, Richard Cheese, Kevin Blechdom. That sort of thing. But rock for rock's sake... and don't get me started on the those death metal vocals - I'd rather listen to Skin Graft or Diamand Galas screaming than that!
Grow up already!!! ;)
  10:19am
bruceleh:

WFMU, were the shunned shine!
  10:22am
Scott:

Haha! I bet I can turn you.
  10:27am
Brian in UK:

Harsh vocals are dubious.
  10:27am
bruceleh:

Listening to Nancarrow and Afro-Cuban spoiled me on rhythmic complexity. If I want simple rock'n'roll rhythms, I'll take the real thing and have a good fuck.
I'm having too much fun with this!
  10:29am
Cheri Pi:

I'll pay $30 for Endless Boogie- a 20 minute Jam is only .666 cents a minute.
  10:29am
sudo:

So is there a pool of rock-exorcised pus somewhere in the studio now?
  10:29am
Brian in UK:

Quick get over to Doug's stream there's plenty of SEX there.
  10:30am
Cheri Pi:

Sweet velvet hammer BUK- you're right! They have Sex on the other stream.
  10:31am
Scott:

Focus, people, focus!
  10:32am
Brian in UK:

Sorry, Scott. Not trying to undermine. OOOOPS
  10:33am
Pat in Philadelphia:

Magik Markers! Keep the hits coming Scott!
  10:33am
Cheri Pi:

Play US some Sex Scott.
  10:33am
Pat in Philadelphia:

I mean that sincerely by the way.
  10:33am
Scott:

Haha Brian, no not at all. I'm still trying to figure out how to listen to Doug's show AND do a show at the same time.
  10:35am
Scott:

I just fucked the sky goddammit!
  10:36am
Cheri Pi:

Oh My! [waves lace fan]
  10:36am
bruceleh:

But I ain't going anywhere! Coz it's free-from, and I'm hoping that Scott will close with Schlockhausen's 'Improvisation for Steam Radiator and Electric Zither'
  10:37am
Scott:

All cued up.
  10:38am
Brian in UK:

Scott, saw Meg Baird this week. Interesting voice, no presence in the sense of talking to the audience.
  10:41am
NB:

According to Wikipedia, "Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella" is primarily a Nurse with Wound album
  10:46am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I am pleased to join you all now. Hell, I'm tickled.
  10:46am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I see Scott has been busy this morning especially around 10:35.
  10:53am
Eric The Half Bee:

I'm cold.
  11:07am
Hugo:

Looks like the day for drawn-out exercises in guitar overkill. One might top it up with further Japanese freak-outs. Rallizes Denudes? Fushitsusha? The longest piece I have with the former clocks in at 43 minutes whereas the longest from the latter is slightly in excess of 6 hours. Might create a problem even for a free-form station. Mind you, this Can piece is a thing of wonderment.
  11:12am
NB:

Or Humble Pie Rockin the Fillmore!!
  11:12am
bruceleh:

Scott, I knew you'd come across in the end!
  11:13am
Eric The Half Bee:

I have a sudden desire to hear Lester Bowie and eat black olives
  11:27am
Scott:

Haha Bruceleh, you win!
  11:30am
pgw in mntclr:

that Marion Brown album was my Moby Dick for a while, until i got drunk and bid an absurd amount of money on ebay to get it.
  11:31am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

praise alcohol's inhibition-smashing properties!
  11:34am
AbeSomething:

Secured a copy of the Boogie record, huzzah! Thanks for making me aware of it, Scott.
  11:35am
Scott:

Awesome. Endless hours of Boogie are yours!
  11:36am
The Old Curmudgeon:

Playing Black Saint, Soul Note, India Navigation and HatHut LPs like they're going out of style!
  11:36am
Doug Schulkind:

I'm here for the freakin rawk. Go Scott go!
  11:36am
northguineahills:

perfect waking up music....
  11:38am
T-Zero:

How close is Bash Bish to Connecticut?
  11:46am
Brick Teeth:

I love this track http://alteredzones.com/posts/1394/devin-gary-ross-4-corners/
  12:00pm
