  3:18am
Laurie:

  3:18am
Julie:

  3:18am
Laurie:

  3:20am
T-Zero:

  3:20am
Julie:

Hey there Joe!
  3:21am
issac TJ:

night julie hopefully I will catch your full show next week
  3:21am
Julie:

@Cheri thanks
@Isaac I hope so!
  3:23am
T-Zero:

I even have fresh-baked cinnamon and apple muffins for y'all... if I could not just figure out this transporter thingy...
  3:24am
T-Zero:

now... damn typos
  3:24am
Julie:

snacks!
  3:27am
Laurie:

I"ve got hot cocoa. Freezing to death here. (Hubby turned heat down to save energy. Swear I want to move somewhere warm. I am SO not ready for winter. I hate winter. Winter SUCKS.) Cinnamon apple muffins sound amazing. Thanks, T-Zero.
  3:29am
T-Zero:

mmmm hot cocoa. Yummy. Freezing here too, but a bit warmer this morning. Only -3C instead of -7 lol
  3:30am
Julie:

It's very cold in the studio, I'm wishing I brought my fingerless gloves
  3:30am
Laurie:

Only??? Really??? LOL (Laurie shivers.)
  3:32am
T-Zero:

heh, at least it's not raining or snowing...
  3:33am
Laurie:

Maybe it's just me--but I don't really "get" fingerless gloves. LOL I had them on yesterday when I was in Philly and I couldn't feel my fingers --they were so numb.
  3:34am
Dr Van Dee:

Morning everybody!
  3:34am
Julie:

My convert to mittens, but it helps keep the rest of the hand warm when you need to use your fingers.
  3:34am
Julie:

Good morning, Doctor!
  3:35am
T-Zero:

Yeah, mittens are better for keeping you warm. But it's nice to have opposable thumbs available lol
  3:36am
Laurie:

I think I have a defect pair. They convert to mittens too, but for some strange reason, the thumbs aren't included in that. Speaking of snow, went to the Comcast Building to see the Holiday show. It actually snowed IN the building at the end of the show. No idea what it was--wasn't real snow. It was really neat, though. Totally unexpected.
  3:37am
Julie:

Cool!
  3:38am
Julie:

I think this is a record, I've actually met three people on the comments board right now
  3:39am
Laurie:

Yeah. It was cool. My dad asked me what I was looking at. I said, "It's snowing." He looked outside, and said, "No it's not." I said, "in HERE, Dad." We were stunned. Very novel indeed.
  3:40am
Laurie:

The best part----it wasn't cold, and I didn't have to drive in it.
  3:41am
T-Zero:

definitely the best part... don't like driving on ice/snow
  3:49am
Laurie:

Have an awesome day, people. Headed to bed. I'm bordering on zombie right now with having to get up early to go into Philly yesterday. I prefer the night and the wee hours of the morning when it's dark outside. Hubby is polar opposite and loves to wake with the sun and have sun streaming in to the house. Wicked headache from lack of sleep. So--I'm outta here. Aw---Julie is playing "When you Sleep" for me 'cause I'm going to sleep. So nice! xoxoxo Mwah! Love you, Jules!
  3:49am
Julie:

Night Laurie, thanks for visiting!
  3:50am
Laurie:

Glad to visit with you! xo
  4:02am
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Julie!

"Pass-a part out"? It sounds more like a French word though, so you may have said it right.
  4:03am
maja:

Good morning Julie and all,
lots of rain and a windy morning in Rotterdam harbour.
A dark day of the soul, good to have you around.
  4:08am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, heavy synth rhythm, like one of Nena's songs! Same era I bet.

Morning maja! The cold wetness of winter makes Dark Night of the Soul good for any time of day or night!
  4:08am
Julie:

Hey there Matt & Maja! It's cold in here, someone please make me some tea. Or cocoa.
  4:09am
Julie:

Yeah this is from a comp somewhere I think, I need to look it up.
  4:10am
Matt from Springfield:

Is there a transporter in the studio? I have a great variety of Twinings bags (Earl Grey! Darjeeling! Prince of Wales! English & Irish Breakfast!)...just need a way to get them to you.
  4:11am
T-Zero:

I have coffee brewed, but not tea. Only loose tea. (Don't use tea bags)
  4:11am
cheri:

i was just thinking julie,,is'nt it a shame that the cake only made one album?? i think they were an outsatanding girl group,,and soo underated.do you agree with me?
  4:12am
Matt from Springfield:

Oooh, I'm not a professional Latonian, but I'm betting that means "nothing new under the sun", an old concept on knowledge.
  4:13am
other david:

morning folks :)

*puts a giant pot of tea on to brew*
  4:13am
Al:

Hey Julie, I really love the show!
Yes Lacuna Coil are an Italian band. I got a chance to meet them a few years ago at Vintage Vinyl in Fords NJ . Really nice band. They do a cool cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence you should check out.
  4:15am
Julie:

the cake made TWO albums, and that is all I'm saying about the cake
  4:16am
Matt from Springfield:

Morning other david!
  4:17am
other david:

hmm, cake for breakfast...
  4:18am
Julie:

Good morning OD & Al! (Thank you Al)
  4:18am
T-Zero:

no cake... only muffins ;)
  4:22am
ausmanx:

evening all. pop in a major key, thank you Miss Julie... danish gloom for me tonight, doing subtitles for a thomas vinterberg film. cake will be good for dessert, but the only thing in the office is a jar of gummi snakes.
  4:22am
Julie:

Hey she kinda reminds me of Karen Carpenter
  4:23am
Julie:

or maybe it's just the melody
  4:23am
Matt from Springfield:

She does kind of sound like a layered, dreampop Karen.
  4:24am
Julie:

I like this..I shall keep Snowy handy for future use
  4:28am
T-Zero:

Put me in the mood for The Decemberists "Crane Wife" album, until this come on...
  4:31am
Matt from Springfield:

Schattenkinder! "Shadow children"!
Kind of like our own "children of the night"!
  4:45am
Matt from Springfield:

Euro-Techno-Goth 8-Bit Extravaganza Night!
  4:47am
other david:

I'm really loving this electro portion of the show!
  4:47am
fred von helsing:

Argh! Just joined! Network problems! What did I miss???
  4:48am
Julie:

hiya @FVH! Thanks OD!
  4:52am
other david:

FVH, there was cake, tea & muffins, but we had it all...
  4:55am
pierre:

Bonjour Julie !
Bonjour listeners !

already a lot of comments here, catching up pretty late, because of late awakening, still happy to be here.
  4:56am
T-Zero:

So what's the significance of 21 candles, as opposed to say 20 or 22 or 31?
  4:58am
Julie:

Something to do with turning 21 years old I imagine
  4:58am
Julie:

pierre you have a knack of turning up right around the French coldwave moment
  5:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Bonjour pierre!

@T-Zero: Turning 21 years old is a significant turning point across many cultures--plus it's 3 sets of 7, a more special combo than 31 (a PRIME number no less!)
  5:00am
fred von helsing:

Muffins ?! DANG
  5:02am
pierre:

Salut Matt de Springfield.

@ Julie : well it is pure coincidence, but it does go well with my morning moods.
  5:09am
ausmanx:

as the only person on this comments board who hasn't been greeted this evening, i'm outta here...
  5:10am
Matt from Springfield:

Morning ausmanx!
Are you counting comments for greetings:appearance ratios again?? ;)
  5:14am
Julie:

Aus! I'm sorry..I saw you come in, I must've gotten wrapped up in changing discs
  5:18am
Julie:

I too am imperfect
  5:18am
pierre:

hard to believe.
  5:21am
Matt from Springfield:

Reminds me of Ramones' covers of old songs (like "Let's Dance")!
  5:24am
Joe D:

Hey, that wasn't Black and White! or am I just crazy.
  5:25am
Julie:

Please don't take it personally if I don't respond, only so many comments on my screen at a time
  5:25am
Julie:

Joe you're right! wrong track! thank you!
  5:26am
Julie:

see how much I know about those old new wave songs huh
  5:26am
Matt from Springfield:

Black and White and RED!!
The most potent color combo in history, according to Jack White.

Oh, so it actually wasn't Black OR White OR Red, then :)
  5:27am
Julie:

ah yes Jack Black and Meg White, what a pairing
  5:29am
Matt from Springfield:

Another 60s turn in the early morning!
  5:34am
pierre:

you should see the weather here, it is terrible.
  5:37am
Matt from Springfield:

@pierre: That's what I was saying earlier to maja (see above, also rotten weather in Netherlands). But in the wintertime, this show will work at anytime of day, no matter which time zone (at least in the Northern Hemisphere...)
  5:37am
pierre:

(oh and i love kaleidoscope)
  5:38am
other david:

snowing here now, inside is warm, has wfmu and tea. but i have to go out :(
  5:41am
pierre:

@ Matt : yeah, you're right, it has a good feeling about it.

@ other David : i'd prefer snow :) for the moment it's rain, very cold, and wind, very strong.

@ Julie : you always pronounce it well Julie, trust your french / "jeunesse d'ivoire", "ivory youth"
  5:42am
T-Zero:

Christmas music, minimal amount is ok, now that it's closer to the actual holiday.
  5:42am
Matt from Springfield:

You could do a "Winter" deal if you don't want all Christmas music. Symphonic metal and cool ambient dreampop that evokes winter, maybe.
  5:44am
T-Zero:

Very cold here too pierre. Still -3C.
  5:45am
other david:

@pierre - it's the worst kind of snow - it's not sticking on the ground, so it's just windy, cold and wet!

right id better get a move on, cya later folks, have a great day! loved the show julie
  5:48am
T-Zero:

The thing with Christmas music is, it wouldn't be so bad if there were just a few songs here and there and limited to the week or two before Christmas (like now), it's when every DJ starts loading up on it and begin at Thanksgiving (or earlier) that it gets on my nerves. lol
  5:48am
fred von helsing:

Oh noes for next week's show I'm on NY State time... gonna be damned near impossible I fear
  5:49am
Matt from Springfield:

@OD: Brace yourself against the weather! See you later! :)
@FVH: You can do it, just plan for it! There are some of us in the same NY time zone y'know!
  5:51am
Matt from Springfield:

Flip-Side of the Soul :)
Life is better, on the Darkside!
  5:54am
T-Zero:

@Matt: I actually don't mind the Chistmas music so much if its literally the more traditional and classical stuff. It's the "pop" and novelty music and people who do it just to make a buck that I really can't stand. You know, like when supposed punk act, etc start doing Christmas songs I just want to roll my eyes.
  5:56am
T-Zero:

Not to single out "punk", it could be anything like hard rock, etc. You know, genres outside those where it would be expected. (I'll stop beating this horse now.)
  5:56am
fred von helsing:

It's the Evil Emilie Simonbot, out to kill us all !!!
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150450136863885&l=de186a683d
  5:57am
Matt from Springfield:

@TZ: I get your sentiment. I love the really "classical" choral pieces and such they play on the Classical radio this time of year, beautiful stuff. But I can't understand people who want ONLY Christmas music. Do those people exist? They must, if pop stations are catering to them!
  5:57am
maja:

no darkside without a sunnyside! ;)
it just appeared,
bye julie thanks
  5:57am
Julie:

Thanks for tuning in you guys!
  5:57am
Matt from Springfield:

Hammersmith Gorillas! I have a couple of songs by them--including this Glitterbest comp!!
  5:58am
pierre:

Thanks for your show Julie !!
  5:59am
Matt from Springfield:

Great show once again Julie!
Have a good Tuesday everyone--stay warm and maybe I'll see some of you later today!
  5:59am
T-Zero:

Thanks, Julie. Stay warm, all.
  10:56am
Van in Dallas:

@fvh - lol at the evil Emilie Simonbot comment :) That thing on her arm looks cool!
  1:35pm
Van in Dallas:

Long first set!

You are close enough I think, Julie, on the Passepartout pronunciation by the way :)
  3:44pm
Van in Dallas:

Still making my way through this presentation...just heard the question on X-mas music Julie - my thought - sure, why not? A set of it as you suggested would be fine by me. :)
  4:02pm
Van in Dallas:

Thanks for the show Julie.
