Listener comments!

  11:52pm bruce p:

That owl's got some wide open ears!
  11:58pm Doug Schulkind:

Here's hoping he comes back in full feather.
  8:31am Brian en Angleterre:

Bonjour Doug and bruce p.
What has brought this about now, Doug? Some initiative refreshed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35am Doug Schulkind:

Good afternoon, Brian. Holy Warbles got sacked last evening. It's like a friend has died. Well, maybe it's more like a friend up and moved to Pittsburgh. (I'll prefer to think positively.)
  8:42am Brian en Angleterre:

From what you write they were pushed before they could jump. Is that fair comment with all the other action last week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am Doug Schulkind:

Yes Brian. My impression is that most blogs (or at least all of their shared files) have been extinguished involuntarily.
  8:48am listener james from westwood:

lousy state of affairs. Big Content is doing itself no fucking favors with this move.
  8:49am listener james from westwood:

disgusting that people have to resort to samizdata tactics to share something as sacred and healing as music.
  8:51am david:

say it ain't so! I got some amazing stuff off of there over the years. I loved the mixtapes he would post. specifically the Natty Mystics one. sigh. hopefully the site will make a return once things settle down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am Doug Schulkind:

You can bet I'll let you know if and WHEN Holy Warbles comes up for air.
  8:54am listener james from westwood:

"the net perceives censorship as damage and routes around it." —gilmore's law
  8:56am glenn:

jimmie dale gilmore's a lawyer?
  8:56am Brian en Angleterre:

Phyllis Steins
  8:57am William:

Could anyone image a blog like Holy Warbles resorting to posting public tracker torrents and having the readership provide the bandwith? As an alternative to single-click file hosting sites such as Megaupload.
  8:57am Brian en Angleterre:

glenn his dad's name is/was Brian.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am Doug Schulkind:

Gary Gilmore's lawyer? (Hope not.)
  8:57am listener james from westwood:

looking thru gary gilmore's lawyer's eyes
  8:57am ndbob:

morning Doug and everyone!
  8:58am listener james from westwood:

alternately, could any of holy warbles' content have made it to archive.org?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58am Doug Schulkind:

Howdy ndbob.
  8:58am listener james from westwood:

good friday to all...will be proofreadin' and mournin' this mornin'
  8:59am Van in DC:

Yay! Another Friday is upon us! Rainy here but I'll take it!

Good morning Doug and everyone
  8:59am dc pat:

bastards!

good morning folkies. We just had a lightening strike that made the air around us pop.
  9:01am Andrew:

@William - they need to post those new-fangled magnet links. Then they don't even need to host the torrent files.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02am Doug Schulkind:

Morning Van and dc pat and Andrew. It's raining in Pittsburgh, too, and in my heart.
  9:03am dc pat:

"I'm in PGH and it's raining.."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am Doug Schulkind:

I can hum that one, dc pat!!
  9:04am Andrew:

Doug, was happy to see your shining visage on that record collector doc on the Woofmoo record library. faces to voices and all that...
  9:05am glenn:

visage.*shudders*
  9:05am dc pat:

I use to hum that tune every weekend when I lived in PGH. Which reminds me of a joke: What comes after 2 days of rain in PGH? Monday.
  9:06am glenn:

that is a fun doc, though.
  9:07am Van in DC:

And El Diablo Tun Tun is worthless now too...it's *there* but pretty useless now :(
  9:08am ndbob:

HW was an amazing blog
  9:08am Andrew:

Its quite strange to hear a very familiar voice from a completely unfamiliar face...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am Doug Schulkind:

@Andrew, that is a sweet little film. WFMU's record library is one of the nine wonders of the world.

@Van Even the mirror blog "We Remember El Diablo Tun Tun" is kaput as well. That site had reposted everything from El Diablo, but the links are all dead.
  9:12am seang:

Good morning folks! can't believe I got outta bed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Doug Schulkind:

Welcome to 2012 seang!
  9:19am david:

seems like lately this show is bad news and good tunes....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Doug Schulkind:

Yikes, David, I can't remember the other bad news! My aim is not to be downer.
  9:22am dc pat:

definitely the coolest Hawaiian slide guit song I've heard. Nice.
  9:23am david:

etta last week. It's just the times we are living in.
  9:24am ndbob:

this is from a great collection - as is everything you are playing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Doug Schulkind:

Oy, don't remind me

@dc pat
Surely the coolest GREEK Hawaiian slide guitar you heard!
  9:25am a.:

:)
  9:26am david:

keep on the sunny side, right? maybe the Hawaiian slide?
  9:26am dc pat:

FECK! Wow, sure enough you are correct.
  9:26am still b/p:

I thought it tasted Greek when it started, and I had a little half-a-world whiplash at the playlist info.
  9:27am dc pat:

I finally got one of those National resonators. Wanted one for the last 20 years or so. A thing of supreme beauty. I don't feel worthy...
  9:28am a.:

over the last week, i've heard numerous radio tributes to ms james, many of them repeating the old standards ad nauseum.. but the best show i heard was yesterday afternoon on weru for the extra large soul show.. needless to say, all the shows were great... and the result was that our diners and shoppers got the full treatment...
  9:31am Hugo:

All that is solid melts into air ...

Those two venerable European gentlemen were quite prescient ...

I wrote a post on the HW blog a couple of days ago about the fickleness and transient nature of the whole internet experience; the what's here today is gone tomorrow type of experience and dreading the day when the net will become the main source of information. Two days later the blog vanished. Proved my point, I guess.
  9:32am Jessibird:

Thanks, Doug, for giving us a way to celebrate and mourn together. Owl added an extra dimension to many of our lives. Here's hoping he can return soon, somehow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am Doug Schulkind:

Guess you just told too much of the truth, Hugo.
  9:37am holland oats:

my fave blog, alas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Doug Schulkind:

I realize I forgot to back announce the first set. How silly of me.

Greetings Jessibird! I will keep all posted on the whereabouts of our fine feathered friend.
  9:38am ndbob:

one of my all time favorite records here
  9:38am glenn:

apropos of nothing, but heard on a toronto radio station yesterday
(i was driving, no internet) ; "everytime you buy a nickelback album, a beaver dies"
  9:40am Jessibird:

Gary at Bodega Pop has a heart-felt rant on his blog today. Voices many of my feelings.
  9:41am jill:

HW is one of the reasons why i haven't set foot in a record store in years. Thankfully, i have seen other's blogs with nuggets re-posted from HW's blog. But i give thanks to the drummer man for introducing me to HW in the first place.
  9:42am david:

A quick search showed me that that Nugrape Twins song can be downloaded from archive.org. All is not lost!
http://www.archive.org/details/Nugrape
  9:43am ndbob:

indeed Jessi - I read that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Doug Schulkind:

Hey there Jill! I know many, many others who have used Holy Warbles and other blogs like it as means creating record shopping lists. There is no question in my mind that the Holy Warbleses of the word generate more income for the music biz then they deny.

That Bodega Pop rant is wonderful, and here:
bit.ly...
  9:47am jmr3:

well, Jill, I suppose that kind of thinking is one reason it got shut down...
  9:49am jmr3:

thanks Doug, I think your way of saying it was much more positive
  9:49am jill:

I'm guilty, for sure.
  9:55am Hugo:

I have to say that I went out and ordered the record Doug brandished in that record library doc and I still have it, on vinyl, of course. There is something to be said for real physical objects. Let's be honest. Real libraries are more robust and reliable than virtual ones.

I'd say we bloggers are in for a major rethink. The current structure/architecture just isn't good enough.

I also wrote another HW post yesterday praising the Indonesian singer Hetty Koes Endang. Of course, that post is gone as well, but I did listen to one of her cassettes before checking HW to see if there were any follow-up posts. Alas, you know the rest ...
  9:56am trsh:

I'd guess they think they can own and run all the avenues, too.
  10:01am jmr3:

oh, me too. I didn't know holy warbles, but I sure 'previewe' a lot of music Idon't buy
  10:04am dc pat:

love this. It's like an orchestra of doom.
  10:04am Henk Madrotter:

Great show Doug!!! I'll post a link to this on my blog ok! We're finding ourselves in the middle of a WAR here all of a sudden...
  10:06am Van in DC:

Well, in the "good news" department, looks like that Thai music blog is still going strong :) http://monrakplengthai.blogspot.com/
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Doug Schulkind:

Brother Henk!!! (Proprietor of the genius blog Madrotter, which lost all its links.) Big love and big ears to you, friend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am Doug Schulkind:

Right you are, Van. Peter Doolan's Monrakplengthai is a godsend.
  10:10am Jsully:

Oh man, this is too sad. The entire internet just looks boring this morning. This is exactly why the web needs to be put beyond the grasp of the US, or any government. I can only hope that something faster, smarter and more secure comes to replace megavideo. Miserable. If HW doesn't reemerge...well, the internet will be a less interesting place.
Oh, and great show!
  10:10am david:

this is incredible. it might be the most evil thing i think i have ever heard. sounds like Abruptum covering Basil Kirchin.
  10:10am ndbob:

Greetings Henk... what a blog you have
  10:12am david:

maybe some throbbing gristle, too. or Einsturzend neubatenenea (sp?). Doug, when was this recorded? it's blowing my mind....
  10:12am Marie:

Bonne matin from Chicago. Speaking of mourning and music, I've been listening to some Indonesian street music that Doug turned me onto a few years ago in a tribute to my cat of 18 years (he was 20), who passed away last Saturday. Thanks Doug. Thanks Pyewacket.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Doug Schulkind:

@David. 1969 (of course).
  10:15am Christopher:

so, so bummed to hear that lovely warbling go silent. discovered so many gems there...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am Doug Schulkind:

My pleasure Marie.

Having a tough time with cats in my house these days. We brought a kitty home from the shelter two weeks ago and proceeded to infect our two resident cats with her upper respiratory infection. Now they are all sneezing, coughing and quite ill. (Have kept the newbie isolated the whole time, but the germs spread anyway.) Took all three to the vet (by myself) yesterday and it was rough. This music is not reducing their stressors, I have to say.
  10:17am jk:

mornin Doug, just tuning in now to see that HW is gone. Looks like the game has changed.
  10:17am david:

don't tell the government but it looks like this record is still up at "holy warbler" (with an "R") blog. with a link to multi-upload sites. could one still be live? I can't check because i'm at work.

http://holywarbler.blogspot.com/2010/06/va-musique-rituelle-tibetaine-lp-ocora_08.html
  10:18am Van in DC:

@Marie - wait, Pyewacket? You wouldn't by chance be a fellow Kate Bush fan would you?
  10:18am Hugo:

We have one of these Tibetan horns hanging in our living room. None of us can play it, so called in someone with experience from playing in brass bands. Our neighbour wondered what the hell was going on.
  10:20am jk:

@David,
those links are all 404
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23am Doug Schulkind:

Not sure what Holy WarbleR was. Just for the year 2010. I haven't checked, but jk says the links are kaput.

I can still access all the old Holy Warbles posts via cached pages in my Google Reader. Can't access the links—which are mostly Megaupload, and thus dead, but I can still read the pages. and see the pretty pictures.
  10:24am a.:

i love you but the chef is giving me dirty looks!
  10:25am Henk Madrotter:

YEAH BROTHER DOUG!!! well.... what a blog I had.... but :) I'm not going to lie down and delete I'm still posting, or at least trying to, most uploaders don't work here in my small village outside Bandung, now trying Deposit files, 1 cassette takes between 7 to 10 hours to upload, I might try smoke signals next!
  10:25am Carmichael:

Good morning, brethren and sistren. Here to warble, like everyone else.
  10:26am david:

d'oh! oh well. this is the problem with shutting down these blogs. I'd gladly go buy that record but refuse to pay 40 bucks on ebay for it. 20 for a CD, sure.
  10:26am Marie:

Hey Doug, you are being a good cat daddy, adding more love to the universe--awesome! Hey Van, I do like Kate Bush, but to be honest don't know her music that well. I got the name from this old movie with Kim Novak, Jimmy Stewart, Elsa Lanchester, and Jack Lemmon--"Bell, Book and Candle." It's fun. Kim plays a witch who has a familiar named Pyewacket. I saw it many years ago and thouht that if I ever got a cat I would call it Pyewacket. His full name was Pyewacket Juanito D______. He was Juanito when I adopted him. I love that name now but was set on Pyewacket. Do you have any cats/
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Doug Schulkind:

Oh hi Annie! Give the chef a big hug from me.
  10:28am Henk Madrotter:

@doug, btw andrew weintraub will be here next month:) he's writing a book about orkes melayu and a book about sinden (female singers)
  10:28am a.:

i will doug.. she could use one anyway, been on overdrive for about 3 months..
  10:30am say it aint so:

RIP HW
  10:31am jk:

@Henk, just checked your blog this morning to make sure it's still up, glad to see you still fighting the good fight!
  10:32am Holly in NC:

Can't stay, but Doug, thank you for doing this.
I "spoke" with owl last night, he is OK, no thanks to Blogger :-(
  10:35am Henk Madrotter:

hey jk, yeah still at it:) wondering what uploaders i still can use now, mediafire doesn't work here for some reason
  10:35am Van in DC:

@Marie - Love cats (all animals really). Kate had a cat named Pyewacket is why I asked :) http://gaffa.org/cloud/subjects/pets.html
  10:35am Brian en Angleterre:

Henk do you ever come across Colin Bass aka Sabah Habas Mustapha. He has recorded in and around Bandung with Jungala Allstars?
  10:36am jmr3:

it's still possible to subscribe to the holy warbles feed in google reader - just did it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Doug Schulkind:

Hello dear Holly! I traded emails with ol' Owl, too. May the love lift him (her?!) higher.

@jmr3
Really? Wow. Can you access cached pages this way? Of course if you Google Search the URL for individual pages, you can get cached info that way, too.
  10:40am lucy:

wow -- loving this in rainy brooklyn
  10:40am Van in DC:

I love this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Doug Schulkind:

Hello rainy Lucy. Rainy here, too.
  10:41am jmr3:

not sure, at my current location (work) both blogs/personal pages and cache pages are blocked in general
  10:41am listener james from westwood:

this show's def. gonna be one i download and listen to on repeat occasions. a keeper among keepers.
  10:41am ndbob:

and loving this in sunny North Dakota
  10:44am Carmichael:

Now, if they took away all the PORN on the internet, THEN there'd be a revolution.
  10:44am Jessibird:

Beautiful folk set right now. (I can only listen to small doses of JJN.) Very uplifting last 3 songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Doug Schulkind:

I feel the same way about Niles, but when he hits the spot, he really smashes it (for me).
  10:47am Jessibird:

Doug, that's the wonderful thing about the show. I feel that way about many of the artists you play...you pick and choose and make it all hit the spot.
  10:49am Artie:

Damn shame about HW and the others. Feel strongly that the motivated music lovers will continue to find a way to shuttle the bits and happiness about. Even if we're back to the old taper days of mail trees - only this time with multi-terabyte hard drives and darknet binary updaters. The spirit shall prevail. The Holiness shall Warble on.
  10:53am listener james from westwood:

not so tremendously outlandish, artie. sounds like something that would happen at that big hacker conference in vegas. DLs on the DL.
  10:54am Carmichael:

OK, funeral's over for me. Later, all.
  10:57am owel:

thank you fer this beautiful tribute dug + frenz. bonne hiver
  10:57am Holly in NC:

@Aerie -
Yes. As I told owl last night, I have many, MANY of his offerings on various hard drives and would certainly assist in an owl-in exile archive effort. Or one on one sharing :-)
  10:58am Holly in NC:

Hi owel :-)
  10:58am owel:

you're the best holly
  10:59am trsh:

"There wolf" - ha haha.
  11:02am Holly Barbell:

Keep it up, Owel! What gems you and Doug are. Add some Wiley E. Coyote to your menagerie of animal familiars.
  11:03am Artie:

Hoping owel has good backups and that all can be recovered. Happy to assist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Doug Schulkind:

Owl dear! I echo Holly's good thought. I am at the ready to help re-up anything I can.
  11:04am listener rey:

Morning everyone,
Very sad about the number of great blogs shutting down but am hopeful that enterprising music lovers can resurrect their sites. I am confident that someone will find a way around the sharing blockade
  11:04am listener james from westwood:

must miss the live version of steinski again tonight, but for a good cause (mom getting out of the hospital). will savor it later on this weekend. that show often found me sitting at my destination during its 1st airing, listening in the car and not wanting to miss the end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Doug Schulkind:

Hey hey Rey! Always chuffed to know you're along for the ride.
@Listener James
I presume your mom is better because of last week's Steinski broadcast. (Good news for you, bruddah.)
  11:07am ndbob:

heya owel- your blog was certainly much loved by me:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am Doug Schulkind:

  11:09am owel:

i love yowl bros + sis's. bruvva dug, best tribute --- ever! heart thanks
  11:09am Van in DC:

Yay. Love to be flabbergasted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am Doug Schulkind:

Owl, the pleasure is sublime and mine. Paraphrasing the Bard: Owl's well that never ends.
  11:11am Merv:

Much love, owel-- talk about serving a community! We all got yr back...
  11:12am Henk Madrotter:

@brian en angleterre i've seen his stuff on the net but i've never seen it for sell here, i would've bought it if i had!
  11:13am musique:

can't hear it right now but looking forward to listen to the stream later.
  11:16am Gary:

Thanks so much for this. Listening now. Hoping Owl will return at some point, in whatever manifestation ...
  11:16am mark:

Excellent but extremely sobering show today Doug. Just downloaded some phongsi woranut @monrakplengthai, so feeling better now.
  11:17am owel:

dam, this show reminds me what musique blaaaging should be about. more like a celebration or sitting around listening to jams w/ yer friends. love this record
  11:19am Hugo:

Private, invitation-only blogs are apparently running as usual, at least those I'm part of. Web visibility, i.e. open domain presence, seems to be a liability these days. Of course, the further away from the Web, the better. Usenet is an underutilized source, unknown to most and actually predates the Web. The reggae group there is unbelievable, surpasses anything on the web.
  11:19am Van in DC:

Those really were flabbergastingly great!
  11:23am Nadia in London:

RIP Holy Warbles :( :( :( :( :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Doug Schulkind:

You've got it exactly right, Owl. The same impulse for doing my show for the past 25 years I found coursing through HW's veins. Love at first warble.
  11:29am owel:

never thought eyed get to be a guest at me own funerowl. what fun :)
  11:31am Nadia in London:

it's kind of amazing to be sharing the same internet space as one of my heroes
  11:31am Nadia in London:

No, wait -- 2 of my heroes!!!! (Doug and owel are my all time favs)
  11:32am Holly in NC:

@Hugo -
Huge into alt.music Usenet back in the (long ago) day, but when last I checked (2 years ago) it seemed really hard to access without forking over $ - would love to hear otherwise.
  11:33am William:

I'd like to state my exitement about holy warbles in the presence of the owel. hope to have you back soon owel.
  11:35am fishmonkeystew:

I am so bummed that I didn't know about Holy Warbles until just yesterday. What a great loss. Today's show has been fantastic, Doug.
  11:35am listener james from westwood:

keep strong owel. you did great work. you will do so again.
  11:36am owel:

thx bill, nadia, james, ndbob, etc + dug, 'course. wish i could stay indefinitely. seaya rown
  11:39am Van in DC:

Yeah, HW new to me too :(
  11:41am Hugo:

@Holly: If you want quality and reliability, you have to fork over a little moolah, but you have to consider what you get for that and in that light, it's pocket money. After all, your computer and your IP services don't exactly come for free.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Doug Schulkind:

Hey fishmonkeystew! Too often I discover great musicians by readin their obituaries. Sad but true.
  11:44am jessibird:

rioplatense: from the Rio Plata area in Argentina.
  11:46am fishmonkeystew:

I was lucky to catch El Diablo Tun a couple of months ago. It's good to know that there are folks like Owel out there in the world. The internet is such a fluid place that I'm sure the greatness will resurface again. It will just take time.
  11:49am Holly in NC:

@Hugo -
I am currently WAY under-employed. No xtra moolah. Not a cent. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Doug Schulkind:

Mil gracias, Jessibird. I should have known that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Doug Schulkind:

You and me both, Holly.
  11:51am don:

superb programming as always, doug. quite sorry to hear about holy warbles...
  11:54am Holly in NC:

@Doug -
And you with the vet bills!!!!
Funny, I haven't been to a doctor in years, but I make sure my cats get the care they need. F*cked up world we live in.
  11:54am Hugo:

@Holly: In that case, there's always radio, like this station. Come to think about it, do you really need much more? It is 24/7, though one may wish for 25/8..
  11:56am Holly in NC:

@Hugo -

Y'know "more cowbell"? It's a disease.
  11:57am jill:

This Jimmy Hughes is sounding like Burke's "Don't ya feel like crying?" No?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Doug Schulkind:

@Don, thanks man.

@Holly
Because our resident cats got sick from the shelter the kitty, the vet from the shelter didn't charge us for the visit. Pretty damn reasonable, I'd say.
  11:58am Van in DC:

Many thanks for the wonderful show Doug...pure aural enjoyment as always.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Doug Schulkind:

Makes me happy, as always, to do it. Thank you Van and thanks everyone.

  10:17am white&uptight:

  7:34am Korla:

Life is hard without Holy Warbles! Can't wait to hear news about the return of the owl.
  2:16pm HowlBR:

I feel sad.... it was a huge loss. I'll miss you OWL :(
  9:19pm Dee Dee:

Unbelievable... I'm at a loss for words. What's to be achieved by shutting down one of the musical wonders of the world? This was a place of education and devotion and pure love.

I bought so many records BECAUSE of H.W. - stuff I would have never known about otherwise!

Whoever is behind this assassination attempt has just shot themselves in the foot!
  3:51pm GRAHAM:

LONG LIVE OWL QAEDA
  9:19am Rab Hines:

Owly is one of the great ones, but many other blogs (and their corresponding gmail accounts) have been recently shut without warning by Blogger. The 'industry' is baring its teeth. And keeping it out of media reportage.
  11:23am kokolo:

Holy Owl bless you!
  11:46am Hammer:

So, with all regards to now-defunct Owl's (it's not a she) tired attempts at being a stagnant shit-stain at this poo-addled convention of freetarians and the way some of you like to hail him as some saviour to your musical non-existing tastes... I must place the final nail... mind, in his coffin and spill the beans about it all.
Babes, it was me the one alerting the authorities to his website, and I submitted a condemnatory letter stating the need to uproot his sorry-ass off the webs for good. Yeah, mamma jammas you can call me evoool... but, hell IDGAF and do not get my poop gathered around such emotional infestations as this very one that I find here. Still, and miraculously; nefariously so... his obituaries are horded by the ickypum-pum everywhere I go, and I still can find it all so amusing: this is what I wanted to do in hindsight and I recall whole-damn-heartedly how his 'Turkish Freakout II' upload got me thinking that such net-bound entities do not have the right to proliferate around these electronic quarters, whether the end-luser is a bored-shitless single-mother who hails ass from N.C. (his e-girlfran Holly), or some gaggle schtuppe-heads of Americunts who think that by choosing this, or that as the next big whatever-ism is where it's all at (that Dough and his ilk).
Son, babe... Owl hunnie dew... Never worry for, no matter how many incarnations and different attires you might want to try on here, they will ban yer sad ass again and again. This is some serious shiz bang, babe. So, play around, or GTFO for good.
Your ass, not mine: I was the hammer that banged the nail up your ass. An innocent bystander who does not take shit for brekkie like these mother-less shitwads here do. Nope. I dunn.
HURR at me, brofessor.
H.H.
  12:36pm kokolo:

Doug really great work, thank you.
Hammer, what is to be said, I am too old to comment this, good that you are happy now, child.
  12:48pm Hammer:

Sho thang, love. Sure thang.

Dig and stay alive, babes.

What you have to do right now is start a cummin’-together of sharity to collect enuff funds so that one day, some of yinz might actually be able to buy from any of the following main venues of online-offline music stores. The list, shall I state, is endless. But, here are your deepest phobias, fears, and loathsome brethren, babes. Enjoy eating piles and piles of pixellated pixel, you sad soft machines.

sounds like someones a little jealous that Holy Warbles gets [or got] more hits....
  4:53pm mike cooper:

Well Hammer - mr policeman of the download world - next time you decide to ' do something good' for the people try asking the people first eh? I am amongst those who had music downloadable from Holy Warbles - do you think I gave a shit - no - you know why? Because most of the artists/musicians and geniuses who's art was available there were not receiving anything from it anyway - especially from the outlets you mention - some of which by the way dont even exist anymore. You obviously know nothing about the record business.
  5:41am Hugo:

I see that the offending post has been removed. Fair enough. It was clearly within the realm of the pathological. Hence, not too credible, I thought.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am Doug Schulkind:

I miss him, too, Booz. I miss him, too. But there are still some great music sharing blogs out there. Bless them.
  9:55pm justam:

If the Owl is still spreading his gospel anywhere, please please share me a link. I tracked his famous warbles to well-known tracker a few years ago, but that too got taken down. Haven't found him since... Where's the owl?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Doug Schulkind:

The Owl lives in our dreams, justam.
