Quick question, with a vegetables soup, do you like when there tiny bits of vegetables in it, or when it's all mixied and smooth?

(i'm cutting the leeks right as i'm typing this)

Avatar 7:14am
HotRod:

The water you drink is three billion years old, give or take five million years. The stuff your body is made of is at least 10 billion years old, probably older, and has been as far away as 100,000 light-years from where it is right now. The air you breathe has, in the course of its travels, been literally everywhere on the planet, and has slipped in and out of the lungs of almost every human being who has ever lived. Would you act differently if you had a visceral sense of how eternal and infinite you are? What unprecedented behavior might you express? Visualize a waking dream in which you remember the water you floated in three billion years ago. Imagine you can see the light that shone on you 100,000 light-years ago. - Rob Brezny
  7:14am
Ozzy Skateboard:

veg? VEG? that's it NO soup for you, come back one year!

HotRod, this is bad news for OCD sufferers, but is true, we are all one!

  7:20am
Nathan:

We're made of stars. I've always found it funny that freckles (I have them) are created by a star and also look like a starry sky but in negative. The universe has tagged us as being its property.
  7:20am
the bahai llama:

nope, makes no difference to me or anyone else who works here if we're 10 billion years old when morons in management take over organisations and ruin peoples' lives for the sake of their own advancement. i've listened to this show for some time on my friday night shift. it looks like that will be no more, so goodbye and thanks for all the tunes...
  7:22am

I'm so sorry too.
We will see you here again Bahai, i'm sure.
  7:34am
the bahai llama:

see we need people like you lot to be running things, then decisions would be made with compassion... it's these little supportive communities which count
  7:34am
Nathan:

As much as it sucks. I always look at leaving jobs / getting sacked as an opportunity to expand your mind, pursue goals closer to your heart and get out of ruts.

Winston Churchill quotes are awesome!
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

"A joke is a very serious thing."

"A prisoner of war is a man who tries to kill you and fails, and then asks you not to kill him."

Parq:

'Morning, all. The thing that kills me about large companies failing is that the people who made the decisions that caused them to fail pay the least price, while the people who pay the price (like Bahai and his mates) were the ones who worked to hold the whole thing together. Life isn't fair, with a vengeance.
  7:52am
Parq:

By the way, spectacular GIFs today, Miss HR.
Avatar 7:53am
HotRod:

Thanks, Parq! Blessings! ;)
  8:02am
pierre:

@ Parq: i hear you, you're sayng something that is true. Is there someways to change that?
@ Dave B : i've a silly idea, that might involve some IT skills, do you think it would be your area of expertise?

@pierre - i know a thing or two about a thing or two. Hit me up off line.
  8:11am
Nathan:

Business by its very nature is ruthless. The same ones that make the poor decisions are the same that cut out the bottom to compensate those decisions. Loyalty is an illusion. The best you can do is expect this to be the case with every company that employs you.
  8:13am
the anchovy:

HoootRooood! Bonjour!
Tryin to follow the gif choregraphy to make some exercise^^
  8:14am
pierre:

@the anchovy : come get your bowl of soup !

@DaveB : this will be done. Thanks.
  8:16am
pierre:

HHHAAA Yeah !
  8:16am
Dave B:

(just catching up on all the comments) - Bahai - sorry to hear of your situation. Up thru September (when I did an about face and changed careers) I used to be responsible for user account creation/removal in a rather large corporation. One of the most thankless of jobs around. RIFs (reduction in force) were always personally troubling as these are, or rather were, the very people we were here to help.

For the whole of 2011 I had the new job in my back pocket, and it wasn't until after the summer that I had enough and left on my terms. It kinda sucked leaving a group I had worked with for 10 years, but it had to be done.
  8:18am
Parq:

Pierre, my own take is that most of the miseries of capitalism, racism, class warfare etc., are inevitable outcomes of human nature. You can change them only if you can figure out a way to change the way we are fundamentally wired. Everything legislative or electoral change just invites the same crud to happen over again.
  8:18am
the anchovy:

@Pierre: Thanks, i'd love to, enjoy the soup^^
I aknowledge your great skills in mixing veg together!
Set me a bowl aside for next time.
Atelier NOIR is coming on strong with site and soup!

there's always working for yourself, but you could still get a creep for a boss.
  8:20am
Dave B:

@Cheri Pi - never trust a big butt and a smile...
  8:21am
Marmalade Kitty:

Parq, Timothy Leary had theories on the re-wiring.. It certainly rewired me :)
  8:25am
pierre:

For example, WFMU is re-wiring everyone on an other level.
  8:27am
Nathan:

I work for myself and I'm a total creep. Sometimes I find myself slacking off or even having an early 'casual' Friday afternoon smoke like I've just done.
Avatar 8:27am

Excellent example, Pierre. ;)
  8:28am
Ozzy Skateboard:

cool cool is cool cool
  8:30am
Marmalade Kitty:

there are many ways to rewire the faulty wiring.. HotRod show is one way;)
  8:33am
Dave B:

@HotRod - re: Natasha Kmeto - I'll send you the discs I picked up last night, soon as I add 'em to my library. There's some other stuff I'm sending over to WFMU tomorrow too. Be on the look out early next week.
  8:33am
abby:

is that why you had to cut your own legs off nathan?
  8:34am
Marmalade Kitty:

In the 70's President Nixon claimed that Timothy Leary was one of the most dangerous men in America.
  8:37am
Nathan:

Dog ate my legs actually... ;)

That Cosby gif made me shoot coffee out my nose...
