Good morning fine listeners.
  9:10am
Berg:

greetings from sunny and still freezing paris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am
Scott:

Ahh, Paris. Sigh.
  9:11am
fred:

Good morning Scott!
Your premium looks amazing
  9:12am
Brian en Angleterre:

Hello Scott & Berg. It's cold here in London Berg. We are planning to go to Paris for the day in a cupla weeks. Eurostar permitting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am
Scott:

Premium is getting there. It's still a somewhat vague idea. Basically all the Japanese out there psych stuff I really love is way too long to fit on a CD! Maybe will do a download code for stuff that didn't fit...
  9:16am
ranjit:

Box set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am
Scott:

Totally.
  9:17am
Pat in Philadelphia:

Scott, how about data on a DVD instead of a playable CD?
  9:17am
the glowing one:

ah nah, a dvd full of mp3s!! or a bluray even!!!1!11
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am
Scott:

How about a boxset of Blurays.
  9:19am
the glowing one:

or how about a megaupload link... oh wait a minute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am
Scott:

80 HOURS OF HAIRSIZZLING PSYCH AND ANCIENT SHACKUHACHI MASTERPIECES.
  9:20am
Berg:

the city is a lot of fun these days Brian, the cold keeps the bulk of the tourists off the streets and in their hotels ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am
Scott:

SHIT SO OLD IT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47am
Scott:

One day, definitely! I am stranded in Studio B far away from the record library at the moment.
  9:48am
Cecile:

Hey, I signed on for your premium, Scott.
  9:49am
Cecile:

damn, missed the "Nicks"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am

Thanks Cecile, I hope it floats your boat!
  9:50am
bruceleh:

Good morning, fine DJ!
  9:52am
Cecile:

I think it will.
I really gotta load all my premiums on a flash drive or special iTunes folder. I've been slack of late.
  9:52am
Cecile:

I appreciate Miles, but Scott if you have any Clifford Brown around, that would be awesome.
  9:53am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

hey you guys!!
  9:53am
Rich:

Chet did it better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am
Scott:

Oh please.
  9:54am
Greg:

That "Daylights" track of The Necks was mesmerizing even played on very poor speaker at the back of the computer screen. I need to catch the whole album (on proper equipment).
  9:55am
Cecile:

Okay, Woody Shaw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am
Scott:

Haha.
  9:56am
Cecile:

I have determined that I am not all the much of a "trumpet person."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am
Scott:

Oh then you're going to love what's next.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am
Scott:

Greg, the Necks record is one of those things that you should listen to in a room surrounded by speakers in 5.1 dolby (or whatever, I don't even really know what that means).
  10:08am
Cecile:

I do love it.
  10:12am
Cecile:

I like them, but just not like piano or saxophone or vibes.
  10:17am
pierre:

Bonjour Scott, glad to be here, sailing on the long rally
Salutations listeners.

Paris's freezing, that's right.
  10:18am
Cecile:

it's damn cold here, too. A brisk wind - makes the 10 degrees F feel like -8.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
Scott:

Bonjour!
  10:25am
As I Am:

Hello all... Brighton is also cold, but sunny. It's been a nice dry cold lately, rather than the typical English damp cold, which is just blurgh.
  10:26am
Cecile:

Yeah, damp cold is the worst.
  10:28am
andymorphic:

brighton is great...lots of childhood memories. those big sticky rocks
  10:29am
Mike East:

Its a beautiful day on the Mike East coast. Sunny and 48!
  10:29am
wild neil:

Hey, this has some King Crismon tropes in it! Texturally anyway!!! COOL!!!! You ROCK Scott!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am
Scott:

So if you think of this 3-hour show as one big cosmic show that appears once/week and consider the way we're moving, then we'll get to KING CRIMSON somewhere around the 10, 476 set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Scott:

Freeform takes a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am

Hopefully it will click with you.
  10:32am

unless you're Ken or Diane. (who I both adore)
  10:32am

Still too soon for me...

Scott:
Not sure I understand cryptic reply...King Crimson is too commercial? Its a shame they are not getting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame....
  10:36am
wild neil:

Chronsyclastic Infundiubulum soundtrack....
  10:38am
Cecile:

King Crimson is like anchovies, blue cheese or ouzo.
Some people dig them, some people don't.
  10:39am
Cecile:

I love the musical history. Thanks for bringing it to us.
  10:39am
alan:

scott...you might consider adding some tunes from a wonderful student of Herbie Nichols, namely, trombonist Roswell Rudd. His new quartet is performing tonight at Roulette (8pm).
  10:41am
wild neil:

Cecile-
I understand. I HATE olives, my wife CRAVES them!
  10:41am
Cecile:

as she should. they are delicious.
  10:42am
Mike East:

you guys are making me hungry
  10:45am
Cecile:

I forgot to eat until just now - I was wondering why I was running around the office in a crazed mode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am
Scott:

@alan oooh really? Didn't know that. Lemme see here.
  10:46am
Mike East:

I, too, have not yet eaten. My boss is buying me some Afghan for lunch (which he calls Indian), so I'm holding out for that.
  10:47am
Cecile:

Well for me Ritalin + empty stomach = :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am
Scott:

Et voila.
  10:49am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

this is nice--good request, alan!
  10:50am
Cecile:

ITA, DCE.
  10:50am
As I Am:

@Mike...I have very fond memories of an afghan restaurant (in Freiburg, Germany of all places) which I went to... the food was sublime...I want a boss like yours...
  10:51am
wild neil:

Never had Afghan food! Sounds interesting.....is it similar to Indian food or completely different?
  10:54am
Cecile:

It's like a cross between middle eastern and Indian.
It's quite lovely.
  10:55am
Mike East:

It seems pretty different, though I'm no expert. The rice at the afghan place is seasoned, whereas most Indian I've had is just plain Jasmine rice w/ cardomom and/or star anise mixed in. Also, the Afghan place specializes in kebab, whereas Indian is usually some form of delicious and sometimes spicy slop that you put over the rice. The bread is also very different, though also flat.
  10:57am
As I Am:

Not completely different to some North Indian/Moghul dishes, but just a different palette of flavours...
  10:59am
Cecile:

I know they both make a rice with citrus (lemon, orange or lime) that is out of this world.
  10:59am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Friday is definitely "food talk" day on the comment board! PB and Nutella for me!
  10:59am
Cecile:

The chai at Afghan places is really yummy - lots of green cardamom and nutmeg. Very fresh and almost herbal tasting.
  11:00am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I like these songs that seem to come from a different country.
  11:01am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

haha, Ken--anybody ever see Ali play live in the states?
  11:02am
BSI:

There was a wonderful afghan place in Albuquerque... Tora Bora House, if memory serves. My first experience of it, & wanted to hug the whole staff before leaving.
  11:05am
Cecile:

you can put a note on it for the future, Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am
Scott:

What now?
  11:13am
Cecile:

the CD that ended cold. You can write, "ends cold" on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am
Scott:

No way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am
Scott:

Just kidding.
  11:17am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

that's what permanent markers are made for--notes on discs
  11:28am
Nathan:

I like this Pariah track.
  11:55am
pierre:

this set goes especially well with my mood… which is hungover… and suspicially glad to hear these tunes
  11:58am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

you will continue to be Scott McDowell, right?
