  9:22am PKNY:

@Ken - Tesla had a pretty big hit with their version of "Signs" back in the day.
  9:22am yayson:

  9:22am Mark:

"I think perhaps I shall become a corporate banker now... or sumthin'" -- Moondog
  9:51am Cecile:

this sounds like a Monty Python musical sketch.
  9:51am still b/p:

This would have to rank with her "SOB" flash scene as one of the most wonderfully unusual moments captured in her long career.

  9:55am BDR:

Mama's w/Rammstein, the one who insists he was first in the line is the last to remember her name.
  9:56am dc pat:

Cecile: it's a must see for those of us turned on by the voice of purity and innocence exposing herself...
  9:56am MIchael:

I like it---then again I grew up with Martyn Green's voice, and like it, and Ms ANdrews is at least on key. As for a creator's horror, I basically don't care, Moondog's being safe from all cares now---"Watchman" is a good movie, and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" a good _terrible_ movie, despite what Mr Moore may think---I don't pay attention to soi-disant wizards anyway.
  9:56am glenn:
  9:58am still b/p:

SOB movie ain't so good. One of the tangents: In a Julie profile, 60 Minutes showed the infamous clip uncensored, and caught predictable trouble for it. Mike Wallace claimed to be at a loss to understand why it should be a problem.
  9:58am Cecile:

this is great.

  10:09am Ken From Hyde Park:

Playlist page better for me on Firefox today.
  10:09am Cecile:

The stream is, Kenzo.
  10:10am Lizardner Dave:

The playlist is actually about 3 songs ahead of what I'm hearing on the Windows stream, or am I just buffered and behind? We just got new machines at the office with Windows 7 and all kinds of weird shit keeps happening.
  10:11am Antony:

Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of water-fetch!

Missed the first hour due to dental work. Listening now with a numb left side of face and and tingly tongue. Seems appropriate.
  10:17am Cecile:

dcp, I ended up knocking off two holidays in one last night. My husband got a coupon for a free bottle of wine with dinner at an Irish pub. So we took care of Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's. And placed 2nd in trivia.
  10:17am richard:

  10:18am Cecile:

I'll vote Rammstein just so their feelings are not hurt

this is choice cheese.
  10:21am Mark:

I have the same problem re comments
  10:21am Ralphine:

I think they're very refreshing.

who's rule is it not to play a Rammstein twice? And who is the judge? Rammstein rules!

Let's Go To Jersey: brilliant. Must be followed by The Buskers doing "GLORIOUS BEER." It was a thrift-store find ages ago, marvelous stuff.
  10:22am xx marks the post:

  10:24am Dan B From Upstate:

Ah! The comments keep 'refreshing' instead of sliding in! I'm not in basic mode, either.
  10:24am dc pat:

now it's working
  10:24am Cecile:

I think Billy Jam should play it when he goes to Old Jersey again.

  10:36am Cecile:

  10:37am Cecile:

I like the Misfits, but I don't love them anywhere near as much as a lot of people do.
  10:38am dc pat:

oh yeah, Cecile. Good idea. Stick Cinco de Mayo too! ...are we allowed to say that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am Ken:

  10:40am Cecile:

they do have nachos. So next year nachos at the Irish bar on February 14! LOL.
  10:43am Detroit Mac:

I don't like the misfits since I was constantly kicked in the head by crowd surfers at the Warped Tour.
  10:46am Cecile:

should I mention the version Cake does?
  10:47am moose:

hats off to malachy the pekingese, coolest winner ever
  10:48am Dan B From Upstate:

Is it a bad thing that I love Cake's cover of this song?
  10:48am dale:

don't know if this is a beautiful hit, but i would lay down in the rain for melanie. probably won't ever come to that
  10:48am Cecile:

moose, Pekingnese in that coat still look like hassocks to me. But he looks like he has a great personality.
  10:48am Neg-guh-tor:

Thanks, Ken. That toothbrush song is now burned in my brain like a laser on a retina. Guess I'll have to find it now.
  10:49am bb:

wait, there's a cover of do you want to hurt me on this collection too? when was this even recorded? i love melanie, but this...this is strange ken

  10:52am dc pat:

sorry but grocery stores have ruined this kind of music for me..

  10:55am Cecile:

that and anything by EWF and Heatwave and Funkadelic.
  10:55am Detroit Mac:

2 B Reel?
Avatar 10:57am Kenzo:

Hey, that 2/10 Tonetta photo of Alizee with the power chord guitar backing the video! There are no guitars to be heard. The backing band's function is to stand around with mute instruments and clothes on for contrast.
  10:58am Cecile:

I am buying that as we speak.
  10:59am dc pat:

gotta go, have fun.
  11:01am fofo (-:

bye dcp!
  11:02am richard:

the best version of Got to be Real is a very early rap by Brother D & The Collective called How We Gonna Make The Black Nation Rise. You can find it on a Soul Jazz (again!) comp Big Apple Rappin'
  11:03am earwax:

I love Jersey?
  11:04am Cecile:

I got the CDs and there is also a book (sold separately)
  11:05am Skirkie:

Joke's on you Ken, I live alone. No one will be concerned about MY well being.
  11:07am Larry:

Is the bed music by Can?
  11:07am bill:

Disco's OK for 70s nostalgia, but I prefer Harmonia
  11:10am drr:

wow, this is really cool (Jet Ear Party)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Ken:

Good guess Larry, but it was not Can, it was an offshoot of Neu called Hallogallo.
  11:13am Carmichael:

Hi Kenneth and that-word-not-saying peoples.
  11:13am Larry:

Ah, thanks. I had a feeling it wasn't Can!
  11:18am Mark:

who isn't sick of Snow Patrol really?
  11:19am Cecile:

  11:19am Carmichael:

I'm sick of the Foo Fighters. AND Snow Patrol.
  11:19am Glacier:

@Mark: They're really intrusive, aren't they?
  11:19am ttacular:

Excellent listening.
And alll the crap, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Ken:

Yeah! I'm also sick of all these bands that WFMU never plays!
  11:21am Nathan:

@Ken Exactly.. I don't quite understand... isn't that why we listen to WFMU?
  11:23am Dan B From Upstate:

Maybe I listen to too much WFMU... Can't say I'm familiar with Snow Patrol.
  11:24am G:

I'm here hiding from Snow Patrol and Foo Fighters and every other way overplayed and worn-out group/song. I accidentally glimpsed Foo Fighters at the Grammys b/c my gf wanted to see Jennifer Hudson sing Whitney Houston.
  11:24am Nathan:

Actually, Pseu has played Snow Patrol more than a few times and Joe Belock (of all people) once.
  11:25am G:

Nathan is on "Snow Patrol Watch" :-)

Snow Patrol Patrol!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Ken:

  11:26am tusk89:

ken, please play that old white guy who closed the grammys.
  11:27am Cecile:

I like some Foo Fighters songs. And i would go and have a drink with Dave any time. Not my favorite band, but they're a'ight.
  11:27am SirTophamHatt:

Show's great today, listening & whistling while I work. GIFS of happiness. Can I request The Shirts 'Laugh and Walk Away' or somesuch?
  11:27am Nathan:

Yellow Snow Patrol...
  11:27am Mark:

I don't know, I was referencing what Mark E Smith was gurgling about Snow Patrol. Don't know if I would know a Snow Patrol song if I fell over it
  11:28am Carmichael:

I actually enjoyed FTP's performance at the Grammys. (the Beach Boy's Wouldn't It Be Nice). Other than that, me no like.
  11:28am G:

Snow P's highest charting and most overplayed tune is Chasing Cars. Wikipedia says it went triple platinum in Australia. Which of their tunes is most annoying is a more subjective metric.
  11:29am bill:

OMG when I was a teenager stationed in Frankfurt my German teacher tried teaching us that song - "so oder so oder anders komm so wie es kommt so is est recht ..."
  11:30am alt SP:
Hello and welcome to Snow Patrol team! In these highlands covered with snow, near to a holiday resort, we play snowballs with people who came here to have a rest from their everyday life and office routine. And from now, you’re one of us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Ken:

I just played Snow Patrol and you all missed it!!!!

They stationed Teenagers in Frankfurt? Was this at the height of the Cold Pizza War?
  11:31am ttacular:

  11:31am Carmichael:

Ken, every week you seem to bring some sort of Nazi/Eastern European uniforms to the playlist. You are a fashion hound, sir.
  11:34am G:

  11:35am fofo (-:

I liked the JC Satan song. New for me!
  11:35am bill:

Nathan, haha, of course it was my father who was in the military, I just tagged along. Not surprisignly it was set up so that Americans never had to interact with any Germans if they didn't want to.
  11:36am qiz:

What is that awesome background music?
  11:36am Dan B From Upstate:

Oh, that's Snow Patrol? Um.... I kinda like that song. I look forward to being pelted.
  11:37am fofo (-:

well..It didn't hurt.
  11:37am G:

  11:38am Nick the Bard:

Cub Scouts are usually 6 - 9, Boy Scouts 10 - 17, ugh, worst years of my life...
  11:38am G:

The bed music is Barry White, seemingly a 45 played at 33.
  11:39am G:

Show me the melody for this.

@Bill I'm a military brat myself... though we managed to stay in one place during my pop's 20 year service. That's kind've messed up though.. would think that would be the advantage of serving in a foreign country would be exposure to local culture/education. But I suppose most military bases are set up to provide literally everything a family would need.

Hey Ken,
Did you win Valentine's Day in the end?
  11:43am bill:

Nathan, how can you be a military brat and not have moved every 3 years?

I don't know what is more awesome in the Leonard Cohen image. The kid holding the rocket like if it was a bazooka, or the 3-D paiting in the background.
  11:47am Nathan:

@Bill He spent 16 years in the Recruitment division at El Toro after his 4 years of active. Not sure really.
