welcome pierre, yair, cheri pi, berg, ngh, tm g and all the listeners -- what's the news today?
  9:17am
northguineahills:

I'm going to have to wait until I'm employed again before I can get this new Terry Riley, I love it!
  9:17am
Berg:

important news on this side of the pond is that my feet are a lot warmer than last week! Unimportant news aplenty - not going to bore y'all with it.

hey I'm looking for more songs that say "talk's cheap" in them -- as many as we can find -- to do a mash up new intro for the show... there are probably thousands
  9:22am
Nathan:

News... I got some breasts at the local meat market. Thing is you've gotta wake up at the butt-crack of dawn to get down to Smithfields. First time I've been up at 6am - having actually gone to bed first - in a looong time.

I'm going to have to pop down the the Thrill Jockey UK office downstairs and beg for this Dustin Wong record.
  9:31am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel, Earth, Milky Way):

I'm abusing my office with Jim Shaw played loudly. people are starying, I just move along with it. that's what you get when you hire me.
  9:35am
Cage:

Morning, all!

Any Noise fans here? Check this out ...Former WFMU DJ/Engineer, Dan Andreana's group, DaDa Frolic ... http://orangepunch.com/df-trailer
They have a gig at The Stone, NYC next Tuesday night.
  9:36am
pierre:

@Jason : are you going to use the Miley Cyrus song?
  9:37am
Sir Cheesy:

Phrase that pays, in lyrics as well as title:
Never Shout Never - Talk Is Cheap
Miley Cyrus - Talk Is Cheap
Cinderella - Talk is Cheap
Authority Zero - Talk Is Cheap (lyric: "talk's so cheap")
The Comeback Kid - Talk Is Cheap
Van Morrison - Talk is Cheap
Stacks feat. Young Jeezy & Keyshia Cole - Talk Is Cheap
Toasters - Talk Is Cheap
  9:39am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

starting to think "Cage" is actually a spambot
  9:40am
BSI:

What the heka heka you singin' bout?
  9:40am
Cage:

I'm not ..really. Just trying to drum up some attendance for my friend Dan! Cheers.

Ken From Hyde Park:

I like the chaotic scramble.

Hi Cecile, how's things up that way?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am
jason:

good morning Cecile, protector of the Talk's Cheap Free Speech comments board!
  9:50am
Cecile:

morning! It's entirely my pleasure.

I need healthy vibes - I feel like I'm fighting a cold, and I have stay-cation next week. :(
  9:50am
Dave Edmunds:

"Cheap Talk, Patter and Jive"
  9:50am
Cecile:

YES - that's a good Dave Edmunds song.
  9:51am
northguineahills:

Today feels like a good day to make veggie chili!
  9:51am
Cage:

@DCE: DaDa Frolic is not spam ... they have WFMU Blog presence! :) http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/06/cassette_cultur_2.html
  9:54am
northguineahills:

ahh, Jason is continuing Meghan's thread w/ MBV.
  9:59am
still b/p:

Free speech limits freshly learned: You can't necessarily yell "taco" in a crowded comment board.
  9:59am
BSI:

humble owner of new iPhone. Thanks to the app, I'm now even more of an FMU zombie than usual... It's something between awesome and tragic.
  9:59am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

cool, Cage, I just saw you post the exact same message on numerous boards without further comment. Plus I was joking, I'm sure spambots have more important work to do.
  10:00am
Cecile:

BSI, do you have Jetpack Joyride yet?
  10:01am
Cecile:

I will be more than happy to give you recommedations for frivolous wastes of time on the iPod/Phone platform.
  10:02am
annie:

so, yes i am but i'm not commenting
  10:02am
Cecile:

annie - hey doll!
  10:03am
BSI:

aint never heard of no jetpack joyride thing. Is that one of those wacky game things? Loading up on fake synth apps though...
  10:03am
annie:

chicklette!!
  10:04am
annie:

not to jinx anything, but i may have found a solution btw...
  10:05am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

BSI, you will get sucked into a world with those synth apps. Don't have one myself but my friends, jeeeezus.
  10:08am
Cecile:

crossing my fingers, annie.

Yeah, BSI, it's a silly game!
There are some good cheap DJ apps out there too.
  10:10am
Cage:

@DCE: Totally understood ... yes, indeed those bots have more important work to do than while away the hours with folks such as we here ... :)
  10:10am
Cecile:

Beatwave is kinda cool. it's a tone generator app.
  10:11am
BSI:

I've limited myself to just one game, which betrays my age (was a god-damned wizard on Breakout during arcade days) ..

but also, hats-off to whoever developed the FMU app. It has made commuting by bus much less depressing.
  10:11am
pierre:

@BSI: i hear you, if i may add that the little buffering wheel on the comments thing (for the wfmu app) is on a white background, so if you post a comment through it, it's probably working even if you can't see it.
The Jetpack Joyride is great fun, i really enjoy I Blast Moki too
  10:12am
Cecile:

blast moki is cute, but I can only play it when I can't overthink things (1/2 asleep). Same thing with Cut The Rope. The more tired I am, the better I do.
  10:13am
Cecile:

Osmos is trippy - it's sorta an anti-game game.
And To-Fu 1 and 2 are hysterical.
  10:14am
pierre:

@Cecile : i know the guy who created it, i'll tell him, it might help him to imagine new thing to add to his game :)
  10:15am
BSI:

By the way, Pierre: I'll be heading out to your area in late March for a couple of days (Qwartz festival) -- Never been out there before. Should be a great time...
  10:16am
Cecile:

which game, pierre?
  10:21am
Cecile:

Silvertree Media also make a couple of trippy games - they look really futuristic even though the gameplay's a bit conventional - Cordy and Sleepy Jack.
  10:21am
Cheri Pi:

New ECSR!!!
  10:22am
paula pc:

for songs named "Talk Is Cheap" -- go to duckduckgo.com, type in "talk is cheap lyric,' and you will get a motherlode
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am

ooh thanks for the tip paula pc!
  10:27am
Dead Corporate Eyes:

*cheating*, I say!
  10:27am
pierre:

@ Cecile: Blast Moki :)

@ BSI : that's great ! (i just voted for you). Then i shall come by the 104 (it's the venue where the performance will be, i'm guessing) wearing my wfmu cap or t shirt or both !
And we shall share some drinks ! Do you know when are you going to play ? (this is really a great news, as since i discover your music, i was hoping for a live performance to see/hear)
  10:28am
Cecile:

Ah, cool, pierre!
  10:30am
Cecile:

got tobin sprout?
  10:30am
Maria T:

Hi Jason! Love this GBV cover. Forgot how much the vocals sound like the original.
  10:34am
zoltán:

hi there, legions of cheap talk and sharp trash sound
  10:34am
marika:

this sharp trash track is really good
  10:35am
paula pc:

@ Dead Corporate Eyes: I feel ya, but it's all in service of a humungous mashup
  10:35am
BSI:

Pierre: details are sketchy. Not a part of the big show but there should be a more mellow thing where folks play sets for people wearing headphones... Violet will also be there with noise gear. I'll look for the WFMU warrior!
  10:37am
paula pc:

@ jason -- you're welcome, and such a rousing show as always...thank YOU
  10:39am
still b/p:

FMUmungous mashup!
  10:41am
pierre:

BSI: Fantastique! I'm looking forward to it.
i'm sorry but when you say Violet, you're speaking of whom?
And btw, if i can be of any help for helping you, or advices, for your stay across the ocean, give me a shout through the comment board (you'll have no difficulties finding me hanging here and there on shows with European friendly schedules…) :)
  10:46am
BSI:

Pierre: Violet is the performing alias of the guy behind the Zeromoon label. He does superb textured drones & dark noise. We'll be traveling together & looking for a moderate amount of trouble (!) I'll catch you later on the comment board, I'm sure I'll be needing some advice, etc...
  10:47am
jason:

hey Maria T, Zoltan, Marika glad you were enjoying the dip into gbv-inspired stuffs and the sharp trash from portland's psychic feline
  10:47am
Cecile:

Blue and Violet make a lovely color.
  10:53am
pierre:

All right then it's settled, moderate amount of trouble it is.
Glad to hear about Violet. Superb textured drones & dark noise, can' t wait to hear that.
  10:56am
Cecile:

Enough trouble to get sternly reprimanded. Not enough to get extradited.
