Listener comments!

  5:38pm glenn:

i've finally recovered from the x ray burns eye exam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Doug Schulkind:

It burns, oh how it Burns.
  5:53pm listener james from westwood:

it only burns until the nerves are destroyed. then it's sweeeet.
  5:55pm ndbob:

evening Doug. Glenn, James, everyone!
  5:55pm glenn:

the sad thing is, i've kinda got the same look happening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Doug Schulkind:

Gimme that $100 radio. You radio, you muthah!!!!
  5:57pm listener james from westwood:

  5:58pm listener james from westwood:

show the man your power, baby! blast'em! give 'em some of that tone!
  6:09pm ndbob:

nice set here Doug!
  6:10pm glenn:

these guys are almost as good as bryce.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks, ndbob! I am enjoying the not talking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Doug Schulkind:

If Bryce had any weight on him, I'd say he was that most talented FMU DJ, pound for pound. But he's almost see-through.
  6:20pm listener james from westwood:

that was an ultra-sweet set.
  6:23pm glenn:

uh, i think that does make him the most talented, pound for pound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Doug Schulkind:

Oh yeah, I guess your right, Glenn. Can you tell I failed high school physics?
  6:28pm glenn:

bryce also looks very tall, but it's hard to tell on that u stream thingy. it took a while to realize scott had shaved between sets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Doug Schulkind:

Only Nachum Segal is taller, methinks.
  6:29pm Holly in NC:

Hi everyone - running out again, can't listen, but HUGE grin & CONGRATS.

George notes that the Stream still needs some $$$, anyone get a positively surprising tax return?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Doug Schulkind:

All hail HOLLY IN NC, the adopter of "George" the Motherlode's miner. Hi Holly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Has anyone noticed that Google seems to be "broken"? I am trying to do some simple searches and getting NO RESULTS FOUND FOR.... messages. Weird.
  6:35pm Hugo:

First and foremost, Bryce is nyce!

Congrats on reaching the goal. I sent in my usual pledge yesterday, after the whole thing was over, but I'm sure it'll benefit the Doug stream, too.
  6:36pm tr:sh:

Google broke Oct 31,2011 when it hammered shared Reader into G+
And again on Mar 1, 2012 when it made for a privacy grab.

I blame the marketing team.
  6:38pm tr:sh:

and yet, shared reading tags still work? No prefaced comments, though. Still

eg. http://tinyurl.com/000viaTT
  6:38pm ndbob:

strange Doug - seems to be working for me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks Hugo! Didja use the Drummer Some pledge box? That's where/how the $$$ gets credited to the stream. All the pennies roll down into the same barrel, of course.

Hi tr:sh! I love me some Google Reader. It manages the more than 500 blogs I keep close track of. My queue of starred items has more than 10,000 items going back more than a year. Halp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Doug Schulkind:

Yup, now it's working. That was weird. Must've been a Googleburp.
  6:40pm listener james from westwood:

you need one of those multiscreen setups the day traders use. wear a lead apron, though; that many displays can't be healthy.
  6:40pm glenn:

i've found blaming the belgians for everything works for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Doug Schulkind:

Damn them for their waffles.
  6:43pm tr:sh:

Yeah, I've got starred items that fall behind the new new new. A study in chasing the new, that's for sure.

I miss the shared feed aspect. It felt like part experimental *, part 'hey, this is me, see if you can decipher it.'
  6:47pm Hugo:

Nope, I used the main pledge page, but let's say it was symbolically for the Drummer Some. Some of it must surely have dripped into the DS stream.

10,000!!!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Brother H,
10,000??? !!! ??? Is that a pledge amount?
  6:52pm Hugo:

Oops, Err, that was more like your backlog. I wonder what I would get for that amount, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Doug Schulkind:

What you would get, Hugo, is illegal in most part of the United States. We would have to ship it direct from Bora Bora.
  6:55pm WFMU on call hooker:

What would you like, Hugo?
  6:56pm ndbob:

I wonder how many WFMU listeners there are in Bora Bora
  6:56pm listener james from westwood:

putting the f in fmu. and for 20K, you get the u too.
  6:56pm Hugo:

Instant nirvana!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Doug Schulkind:

For 20 grand, the dog would bed down the cow in front of everyone. Then light its cigarello after.
  7:00pm glenn:

wouldn't it be great if bora bora was twinned with walla walla?
  7:00pm ndbob:

excellent show of course Doug!... indeed Glenn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Osh Kosh, b'gosh.
  7:03pm tr:sh:

Ahh.
Thanks.
  7:03pm Hugo:

This has been yet another comment ...
  7:03pm listener james from westwood:

congrats again to wfmu. glad to have y'all for another year.
  7:04pm Hugo:

Doug - when I get Romney level 'not wealthy', I am holding you, and WFMU to that pledge ;-)
  9:59am Van in DC:

Catching up time for me.
  10:19am Doug Schulkind:

You've only got about 12 years to go, Van!
  10:22am Van in DC:

Yes! I knew in my liver of livers that I was going to love catching up with this show.
  10:55am Van in DC:

ha ha...I was hearing the lyric as "I'm gonna SEND my money just as fast as I can get it" ...and I'm GONNA! :)
  11:04am Van in DC:

Good show Doug - thanks! Thoroughly enjoyed this hour! AND I got to learn about this "Google Reader" thingy! And maybe eventually I'll catch up on the rest of the 12 years of archive :)
  11:06am Van in DC:

OOOOOOOOHHHHH. NOW I understand what you meant about Amanda live on Friday. Great news that you will be live on the air!
