Brian en Angleterre:

I was considering the Raven. Coinsidentially, I have just read a book of Poe's poetry illustrated by W Heath Robinson before he started drawing improbable devices. Think he should have worked with Alfred Jarry, he created answers to unasked questions.
  3:23am
Jay/ London:

that's clever of him Brian
  3:26am
Brian en Angleterre:

Pataphysics was the name of the game. He invented Ubu Roi thence Pere Ubu.
Loads of chores this AM so I'll be in & out.
  3:31am

  4:40am
trolly mctrollerson:

I seriously thought there was some construction site noise going on in the background only to realize I had left fmu on with the volume slightly low...
  4:43am
Brian en Angleterre:

Yes Stanley, Ubu was a complete bastard into the bargain. Well I'm not sure if complete iss right, you can always improve.
  4:59am
Brian en Angleterre:

Stanley here's a link to Irwin's show from 2010 when he played Sir Henry in full. Love this station.

Stanley:

Wow!! Good ol' Irwin. I sort of got hooked on to the film in the eighties and watched it on video around 15 times. Since then I watch it every 3 years or so. In fact when the Bonzo's re-united a few years ago and I was lucky to get along to a show (with Phil Jupitus and Adrian Edmondson standing in for Viv Stanshall), the same weekend the local cinema showed the film. The first and only time I saw it on the big screen. Only eight of us were there, though.
  5:17am
Brian en Angleterre:

I saw it when it came out in London but was disappointed. Viv was always so haphazard and wilful the final outcome would always prove a fine balancing act. It's amazing how many people can quote it verbatim.
