We've had a bit of drama. Tornado warning here a couple of days ago... with big hail... had the window open and when I walked in the room the floor was covered... but other than that it's been really hot and sunny... supposed to be cool this weekend though with about the same prediction you gave

Did I miss The Idle Race. Jeff Lynne's best work? Humour, which is lacking in so much music.

I sing this and Venus with my friend nearly every time I see him. "Didja feel low...HUH!?" one of my favorite bands.
  4:10am
T-Zero:

@Brian: Speaking of humour... I was listening to The Bran Flakes before tuning in here
  4:11am
Brian en Angleterre:

Yes Bill, Lynne went off with Roy Wood I believe. the first is the best. English psychedlica!
Deepak, Chandigarh is a bit idiosynchratic?
  4:11am
http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Oh man, I love Venus...I sing that song all of the time. I should check that out.

Martyn:

Caught out (again!) by UK/US daylight saving differences, good morning Bill, and all the good people here.

Plenty of water here Jay.
  4:17am
Brian en Angleterre:

The song that turned my head irredeemably was Mr Tambourine Man by the Byrds. Life was never the same afterwards for that twelve year old.

Mornin' Martyn.
  4:18am
vanya:

television`s awesome! i heard several live songs in a row like a month ago on THE radio - was it zzzzero hour? - not sure! some guitar, right? and idle race, yeah, i didn`t get the humour though, i was deeply touched by the song
  4:20am
Jay/ London:

@ martyn so where are you .. and can you send me some ?
  4:20am
http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Mr. Tambourine Man is another one of my favorites, but I like their really jangly sound, especially on their version of Turn!Turn!Turn! I think the Byrds are kind of forgotten among the top '60s bands to new fans. It's a shame.
Avatar 4:23am
Bill Mac:

@Brian & Kevlar Howsabout some Byrds?
@Vanya Not me.... As I said over the last break, I don't play enough of them!
@Martyn Yooooo martyn!!!!
  4:25am
Brian en Angleterre:

Martyn as one of the Scottish correspondents do you know anything about Dumfries & Galloway? I was thinking of going up there this summer.
  4:26am
Martyn:

Jay, I'm in only recently sunny Scotland. I could send you a tanker full, for a consideration of course.
  4:27am
Brian en Angleterre:

Yes please Uncle Bill. Gunga Din on Ballad of Easy Rider? Always gets missed off the comps.
  4:28am
Martyn:

Brian, well I've heard its very nice (almost as nice as Argyll), but I've never been south of Glasgow, apart from very occasional transits along the M6.
  4:30am
Brian en Angleterre:

Bob Brainen is on later and he is BIG on The Byrds.

Thanks Martyn. It seems a bit forgotten & quiet there.
  4:31am
Jay/ London:

@ Martyn thought water was free i am 1/4 Scottish do i get a discount for that
  4:32am
http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

  4:33am

Jay, I'm actually 0% Scottish so that doesn't cut any ice with me (mmm, ice!).
  4:34am
http://www.last.fm/user/johnnykevlar:

Wow, and you followed it up with a byrds cover by husker du, another favorite band of mine. Can this get any better?
  4:34am
Jay/ London:

@ Martyn is the ice extra ?
Avatar 4:36am
Bill Mac:

Been thinking of Huskers lately.... twas a no brainer!!!
  4:36am
Brian en Angleterre:

Nice Bill. Rediscovered Copper Blue by Sugar recently. Tracks like 'If I can't Change Your Mind' are very jangly.
  4:38am
Martyn:

Jay, I think ice should be extra, I mean what will you poor thirsty folk put in your G&T's?
  4:40am
A Soft Southerner:

Brian en Angleterre:

He said he said.
  4:42am
Jay/ London:

I think this is the best clash L.P.
  4:45am
Martyn:

Jay, oh alright then, no extra for ice. I'll just throw some on the back of a lorry and send it down. Its only about 450 miles, maybe it won't all have melted.

  4:55am
