Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks for listening to this FOUR HOUR extravaganza my friends. It sure was fun playing all that music and just dropping in my interview stuff here and there. Very hard to do that in a one-hour format. I want to thank Brendan Burke of the OWS De-Escalation Team for being my special guest. My FIRST special guest I think on Dusty. Well ... maybe Grandma Phyllis. Anyway ... as always I wish I could have the hour back, because I always think of cool questions later on, or wish I hadn't said some of the dumb stuff I said. Life is like that. For some reason, as I am typing this, 12:59 am April 16th, 2012, I am feeling a good deal of visceral anxiety. Mostly that I might suck, which is a very real possibility, and that my gear is wearing out. My micro-cassette recorder (the model is now no longer made by Radio Shack {and it is the unit that delivers the classic Dusty sound}). Also, I am down to my last dual-cassette deck. The special model whose model number I won't even mention anymore. Damn. Why can't things just be around forever? Why? Why must obsolescence follow us and the products we love around like some deranged hyena, waiting to bite and inflict pain and virulent rabies on us? That's how it feels. Anyway ... I am just trying to hold it together here. The wheels just feel real damned wobbly right now. Thanks for all your support and loyalty listener. Seriously. It;s important to me and to TDS. Onward we go, Another week. Let me know if the sound quality gets to bad and I'll go digital, but it will suck and it would probably be the end for Dusty. That normalcy. That sterile sameness. Ugh. Take care and have a great week. Always remember. Clay PS - THANK YOU FABIO!!!!!! |

Whenever I'm doing a riff on Bauhaus or other 70s/80s early goth music, for some reason I always sing to the tune of The Church's "Shadow Cabinet"--which isn't goth at all. I don't know why, maybe it's just easier to make up stuff to that tune..

Now as some commenter lately pointed out about Victoria Jackson, she sounds dangerously nuts. She grew up in a crazy Christian-ist family to begin with, then when she lost her fame she started acting ever more batshit.

I knocked my head up against a brick wall politically for years until I read a description of anarchism by albert camus. 'No one person has the right to govern another' and that you don't have to wait for liberation but that it is there for the taking right now. One just has to subscribe to the above sentiment.
That is however not the end but the beginning. For me it was like a rebirth and I have never looked back. I have always declared by stance - for many years and I am 'materially' the worse of for it - hurrah!
It is something no one will ever take away from me and it is something I will never enforce upon another.
The media use the word anarchy when they mean chaos. I think we need to stop being reactionary to the crypto-fascist bourgeois agenda - they won't listen (probably). If only for ourselves alone and our own sanity we just need to keep stating our stance.
Love over fear forever!
