slazenger:

I am trying to remember hearing a song that sucked on Pseu's Thing With A Hook. I dare say it has never happened. In fact I dare say she is my most trusted music show host of all my radio history. So there. Put that in your chaw jowl and chew it.
  9:23pm
slazenger:

wait a minute, this song sounds like it may suck...nope it doesn't suck. See? Pseu is the best.
  9:26pm
Destroit:

Ha, no, it sucks slaz. Pseu is spectacular, but nothing is 100%.
  9:26pm
EastVanHalen:

Oh, agreed. IMO this is the best thing on radio.
  9:26pm
tinaun:

did that song just namedrop taking tiger mountain (by strategy)

gets a plus in my book
  9:27pm
G:

It is theoretically possible that a song is fine, and the issue is that occasionally some of us suck at listening.
  9:29pm
Destroit:

Tinaun, hello. I like you. @G: perpetually grinding knowledge, love you to buddy.
  9:30pm
G:

  9:34pm
Firebottle:

If I had won the Megamillions jackpot, 600+ million dollars, I would donate it all to WFMU. That would keep the station running until the year 2600! (of course, unless they devalue the dollar to nothing).
  9:38pm
Destroit:

And outta nowhere comes Bark!
  9:39pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

When I saw what I paid in federal taxes this year, I would much rather have seen it go to fmu than the clods in dc.
  9:39pm
Mr. Zero:

Is that Lee Ranaldo song from his new solo album?
  9:40pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I would only give 600 million to FMU if they came up with some seriously cool swag.
  9:40pm
Mr. Zero:

Stereolab is one the things I miss most about the '90s.
  9:41pm
G:

  9:50pm
Jettison Ostinato Bravura Brandolieder:

Wasn't that Stereolab song used in the Kids in the Hall movie? Brain Candy? Wow, this brings back memories of copying tickets at Kinkos so we could see them at Maxwell's.
  9:51pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Wow, Spooky :) now there's nostalgia for me
  9:53pm
EastVanHalen:

LPS:

Large Panties , Fifth Row , Nick Lowe . Pure Pop For LPS
  10:38pm
G:

Billy Joel is the true "audience tester" track so far in the show :-)
  10:42pm
Scott:

My God, I thought that Billy Joel track might have been Badfinger! And here I've always hated Billy Joel and loved Badfinger. My sense of reality has been shaken like an infant.
  10:42pm
G:

In spots, Joel's voice reminded me of McCartney. That was weird.
  10:44pm
12539:

G, the same occurred to me.
  10:44pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay for the Banana Splits!
  10:45pm
G:

@12539: I wonder if it was on purpose. Weird, no matter what.

Talala takes me back to 1971 Saturday morning cartoons.
  10:46pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

Snork and Shemp. Underdogs.
  10:48pm
Mike Sin:

@Scott, 12539 -- I just missed the Billy Joel track, but it might sound Badfinger-ish to you because the original vinyl LP was mastered too fast, so his vocal is a half-step higher thaan where it should be. I think the CD is speed corrected, though.
  10:50pm
Scott:

Oh, so that's the one. I had heard about Cold Spring Harbor, but never heard any of the songs. He should have stayed sped up, I think. Thanks, Mike.
  10:51pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

Mastering speed cred. Who knew?
  10:51pm
12539:

Now I wonder what McCartney sounds like a half-step down.
  10:53pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

Late period Anne Murray.
  10:53pm
Destroit:

Pseu, love it, good stuff. Kings, time to start whipping Canucks.
  10:56pm
Mike Sin:

@12539 -- If you watch the first Beatles' performance on the "Ed Sullivan Show, " the entire band is tuned a half-step down (presumably to save their voices) -- so there's an instance to hear McCartney sing to the flat note, as it were.
  10:57pm
rebec:

fyi: if you speed up "i'm on fire" by bruce, you'll get dolly parton. great party trick!
  10:58pm
G:

bruce --> dolly in audio only, not in video :-)
  10:58pm
12539:

Geez Mike, what don't you know?
  10:59pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

This Eric Carmen takes the cake. Key changes!
  11:00pm
Barkevious Shabazz:

And then there's Bees in the Trap.
  11:04pm
PiLA:

You know what they say, "Big suspenders, big _____"
  11:05pm
Destroit:

No cat jokes, I love cats. My cats absolutely freak out to Noise & syrup. Speaker attack.
  11:08pm
john and bex:

Hey Pseu! Just in from seeing The Baseball Project, and straight into Hookworld...that counts as a pretty damn good evening.
  11:12pm
G:

I love the "mic break monologue / dumbass comment deletion" multitasking.
  11:13pm
john and bex:

We'll stay up.
  11:20pm
Mike Sin:

Hey, thanks, Pseu -- I like typin' out the useless fax on the comment board, but of course, I come here to hear you program the power poppin' psalms.
  11:20pm
Destroit:

J & b , I'll squeeze you, if if helps...
  11:22pm
john and bex:

Awfully kind of you to offer, but we"ll pass all the same.
  11:35pm
Destroit:

Bang bang Pseu, thank you.
  11:47pm
john and bex:

About time people started covering Sagittarius. She's got a whole album of Curt Boettcher covers coming soon.
  11:56pm
12539:

(Great show Pseu)
  11:57pm
dagwood:

Pseu: Terrific set, great show...i'm drifting.
