Listener comments!

  12:08am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Hi Therese! How was your Easter?
  12:10am
rad:

cool song :)
  12:12am
Ken From Hyde Park:

The Circle song is cool, I think.
Avatar 12:12am
Therese:

Hey there! Easter was very nice, thank you. I hope you all played nice with Betsy while I was gone!
  12:13am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Nice Brian Eno cover.

We told Betsy that you always play old Disney storybook records at the end of the show to tuck us in.
  12:14am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

*not really*
  12:18am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Were you fortunate enough to go to either Pulp show? Did you see their Coachella set?
Avatar 12:19am
Therese:

I didn't! But I did spend a lot of time this week watching footage of their Glastonbury show from 1995.
  12:22am
Andrew Waterloo:

I caught the Jimmy Fallon appearance by Pulp
  12:24am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I have that one. Also have last year's Reading Fest set in addition to a handful of audio boots.

I had efforted on going to Tuesday's show in San Francisco but alas it wasn't to be. I'm hoping they'll be at Austin City Limits Fest in the fall though I'd rather see them outside of a festival setting.

Coachella set at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twq9miTwYms
  12:24am
G:

Haven't heard this MF track in a few years. From his Phil Spector hommage.
  12:26am
G:

twin spin...!
  12:41am
G:

Stephin M. made a good transition to Perfume Genius. That's meant as a compliment to all involved...
Avatar 12:42am
Therese:

Thank you, G!
  12:52am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Blerg! The flash player is having issues.
Avatar 12:52am
Therese:

Yikes! How are the other streams? Anyone?
  12:54am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I'm lost. Are you talking about a computer game? I'll catch the missed section later on the archive. :)
  12:54am
G:

mp3 stream sounds fine here so far...
  12:58am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Flash player is working for me and so is the mp3 stream.
  1:00am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

That's the first time I've ever had an issue with the flash player. It's working fine now.
  1:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Thanks to all for the update on stream status. :)
  1:08am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Did you go the David Byrne and James Murphy conversation at Yale?
  1:16am
Ifny:

Re: worrying about David's naked talking head...I worry rather that people keep driving huge hurtling metal behemoths all over flesh and public space. Cars are dangerous, not bikes. 40,000 US deaths from cars every year...and that's just from crashes, not pollution or wars for oil...or poor taste...
  1:18am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Every Sunday night
Therese plays really great tunes
On WFMU

A special haiku for National Poetry Month. :D
  1:18am
G:

Assigning selective hypothetical blame doesn't help someone who's dead or head-injured when a helmet could have saved them.
  1:23am
Ifny:

Cars don't save people all the time, despite helmets. Just sayin'.
  1:24am
Ifny:

If anyone should wear helmets it's people riding in cars. That's far more risky.
  1:24am
G:

There's no point arguing with a fanatic. :-)
  1:25am
Ifny:

Safety-culture is great unless it blaming the victim. That doesn't lead to safer practices. I'm a safety fanatic, 'tis true.
  1:26am
Ifny:

There's no point in arguing with logic either :P
Avatar 1:31am
Therese:

Oh, I am all for more bikes and fewer cars- particularly in cities. But cars aren't the only thing a cyclist has to worry about busting his/her noggin on.
  1:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I think we can all agree that zip-lines are the safest manner for a human to get from one place to another.
Avatar 1:36am
Therese:

Exactly, BGZ! More zip-lines in 2012!
  1:39am
Ifny:

Now if I can only figure out a way to attach a zip line to my bike~
  1:41am
Ifny:

@Therese Cars are the primary thing that is going to smash skulls on the road (dinosaurs and falling boulders aside). Serious injuries from other causes are statistically remote when commuting by bike. When I race I wear a helmet. And in fact I wear a helmet when I ride anyway because I have a head injury (not from cycling); minor knocks or abrasions (the most likely type of non-car neck up injury for cyclists) are fine for most people, but not me -- I have to be careful about cumulative knocks. Hockey players should also wear helmets for the same reason when they ride a bike :P
  1:43am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Grinnin' Buck!
  1:47am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

They are original. They found cases of them in a warehouse.

b:

I guess it's up to me to pedantically point out that "ooga-chucka" is the intro to the cheesy Hooked On a Feeling remake by Blue Swede, not the great Stealers Wheel single Stuck in the Middle With You. So I've done so. I feel better.
  1:58am
G:

I call mashup :-)
  1:58am
b:

Mashup would work.
Avatar 1:58am
Therese:

Duh! I knew that. Did I say Stuck in the Middle with You? Sometimes my mouth doesn't listen to my brain. And my ears don't listen to my mouth, apparently.
  2:05am
b:

I'd be happy to hear either of them. Just please no Seasons in the Sun.
  2:06am
b:

OTOH I have no requests. You always do great.
  2:06am
hesh:

childs play. by way
of.
  2:09am
G:

Hochzeitsnacht = wedding night (literally "high time's night")
  2:10am
G:

Barry White called. He wants his arranger back. :-)
  2:15am
G:

Dave, don't hassle the Hooked !!!
  2:17am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Holy hell...that Hasselhoff video has abysmal production value.

That can't be unseen, Therese.
Avatar 2:17am
Therese:

I warned you!
  2:18am
hesh:

everbody sunshine i spelt with a period because it's a command
  2:22am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Somebody went to the Alison Shaw vocal school.
  2:28am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I taped "Urgh! A Music War" off of either IFC or Sundance many years ago. The version they broadcast was missing the Gary Numan performance.
  2:34am
Destroit:

therese, this is great. Ping pong banging is wonderful!
  2:51am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Yes...imaging images from Jean Rollin films will wipe Hasselhoff from my mind.
  2:56am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Imagining even.
  3:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Have a great week, Therese and all!
