Listener comments!

  9:05pm
Tom - In Gravesend Brooklyn:

nice opener got my headphones on now ... great to "see" you back agian TOO !!!!!
  9:06pm
Andrew Waterloo:

This Daphne Oram track had an eerie sync up with the various grass seed and golf commercials that came up on my TV screen
  9:06pm
Martha:

Thanks for the good words - and good to be back -
  9:07pm
Martha:

Well, since she developed sounds for commercials I suppose that isn't to surprising?
  9:12pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Martha and all the listeners. Nice hear you back. I hope you are well.
  9:13pm
ADM:

Ah... I had a sneaking suspicion she was involved with the BBC. Those folks sure had a distinctive sound. Check this pic! http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Music/Pix/pictures/2008/08/01/Daphne276.jpg
  9:15pm
Andrew Waterloo:

B. Lustmord did sound as well. He worked with Graham Revelle
  9:19pm
ADM:

Makes me want to hear some vintage Birthday Party.
  9:27pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Ride with death sound tremendous
  9:34pm
Martha:

Thanks all for checking in w/ the info - that guy's last name was really Lustmord? - awesome!
  9:39pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Nah, his name is actually Brian Williams.. usually just Lustmord.
  9:41pm
Martha:

Beats Williams...
  9:47pm
The Skinny:

  9:49pm
Martha:

Ah - thanks! - though my mother's maiden name is Williams so I shouldn't be disparaging it -
  9:51pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Gotta love Sacred Bones, I love just about everything they're putting out right now.
  10:00pm
Martha:

They seem to have gotten into the re-issue business a bit recently - not a bad thing -
  10:05pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Nope, not at all. When you're a label that wears its influence on it's sleeve it only makes sense to.
  10:07pm
insectfactory:

this track is completely great...not familiar with the band at all, but dig the hell out of this!
  10:09pm
dave:

man, that mind spiders track channels jay reatard in the best possible way. awesome.
  10:14pm
Martha:

Followed by a cover from a band he used to be in!
  10:14pm
Andrew Waterloo:

The video for it is pretty good too
  10:17pm
insectfactory:

super cool batoh track!
  10:20pm
Martha:

The Batoh CD is excellent - alternates <> electronics and more traditional works - well worth picking up -
  10:21pm
ADM:

My compliments to this show for an excellent combination of fast/slow high/low.
  10:22pm
dave:

immune's expo 70/pulse emitter/date palms/faceplant 2LP was my sole lust item this record store day and -- quelle surprise -- my suburban jersey rekkid store hadn't even heard of the thing. they had plenty of copies of that phish record, though.

this expo 70 track is a lovely consolation prize.
  10:23pm
insectfactory:

i will track it down - mainly familiar with hearing him live. love this expo jam too. sucker for this style, and he really has masterful ownership of what he does.
  10:29pm
Martha:

People always respond (if that is right word) v/ well to Expo 70 -
  10:45pm
insectfactory:

this indian track (not familiar with the name) sounds like early skullflower going to the dentist.
  10:46pm
Martha:

I thought Skullflower always sounded as if they were going to the dentist! - good point -
  10:48pm
insectfactory:

haha, nice! this middle part sounds like something else entirely...that beginning was prime skullflower/matt bower.
  10:49pm
Martha:

True, true -
  11:00pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I love Phil
  11:11pm
Martha:

I love Anser also -
  11:44pm
ADM:

This is great. I am paying attention to all the words.
  11:48pm
Martha:

It's an interesting album - I haven't yet had a chance to fully listen to it -
