It's kind've creeping me out because it's so utterly ridiculous. I'm the same, I grew up near El Toro Marine base.. I have the knack for telling the helicopter by the sound.

	7:23am Simon: I totally agree about the Brooklyn Museum! I saw a Ron Mueck show there a few years back and it was brilliant. A much better space than many of the museums back over the river.

	7:29am Simon: It was stupendous. The gigantic baby in the middle of the room was very unsettling.
	♥ 7:30am Meghan: We copied the large pregnant woman for an ice sculpture when I was working at an ice sculpting studio....

	7:35am Simon: Absolutely Chuck, that's why I liked it so much. Super-realistic sculptures, but all out of proportion with the real world. Apparently he even uses real human hair for them.

(turns out that all the small ladies sizes were sold out)

	♥ 8:19am Meghan: I have lived in the middle of nowhere with nothing food and no culture and no other ethnic races and it drove me INSANE. I love the diversity that I have to live in a city. I do miss having a back yard, but fuck it, I don't need to grow it, I can go out to eat for it!

	8:24am Caryn: Yeah, Chuck, I moved here to go to university (the university is in the capital, but the department of my major was, for historical reasons, located here). A year after I graduated, even the university department moved out of here (to the capital). But I'm stuck. Heck, at least with the university around there was some culture and people I know. Now, it takes me at least an hour of travel to see any friends.

	8:41am northguineahills: Try living in Jacksonville, FL (where I grew up). One giant-ass suburb w/ over a million people where you have to drive at least 45 miles just to find anything. The beaches, however, are very nice w/ decent surf.

Good food, I know my neighbors and am part of the community here, I have access to NYC where there is culture (though there is art openings here in JC that I have participated in) and I am near major airports for when I want to leave.

	8:48am northguineahills: I suppose Jacksonville is a bit like LI, however, more southern (think Florigia, more Georgian then Floridian). It's about the size of a Rhode Island (it's the largest city in the lower 48 land-wise).

A year after I graduated, even the university department moved out of here (to the capital). But I'm stuck. Heck, at least with the university around there was some culture and people I know. Now, it takes me at least an hour of travel to see any friends.

Good food, I know my neighbors and am part of the community here, I have access to NYC where there is culture (though there is art openings here in JC that I have participated in) and I am near major airports for when I want to leave.
