Track Comments
Primitiv Mix   Pullin back on this mix with the knob twiddling, rolling things around real slow like. Crass uses of autopanning and speed manipulations. What more you expect from me???

Dj Rupture   Few tracks from the Minesweeper Suite. What a great CD, finding it very instructive at the moment.
Youtube Doubler   http://youtubedoubler.com/3Y8E - cool website that automatically mashes Youtube videos by playing them at the same time, side by side. I'm playing a "Retro Hits '70s-'80s" along with a video of Google's automatically driven car in traffic.
Youtube audio extracts   Been working on an automatically produced video cut-up of randomly downloaded Youtube clips. Made with Wget, FFMpeg and Cat. It's tough!! Video editing is quirky. Will be releasing it on WFMU blog soon, keep yr. eyes peeled.

Robin Meier   Two really cool pieces from this composer. Last Maneuvers in the Dark is music automatically generated by a neural network which was taught by a bunch of dark electronic music. Strategies for Post Apocalyptic Computation amplifies the sound of a mosquito flying - they manipulate the speed of flight according to what they hear, so this is a recording of a mosquito playing along to Indian Dhrupad singing.

1000 Snares   TCF made this nice piece, a collection of 1000 snare presets from around the internet. Download here. FYI half of this radio show is being streamed off the internet.
Radio Shock   New Radio Shock release, this track's called Hypercube. Hear here.
Animals Within Animals   Cut-up electronic music. New disc called Produce, Abuse, Resample.
Z'EV   Z'EV did work with magnetic tape sampling! Had no idea until recently...This CD's called Heads and Tales. Interestingly enough, it's mixed by Glenn Branca and produced by John Zorn...

History of Ascii art.

Dan Melchior   Cool! Tape music and weird manipulations of guitar playing. New LP called Excerpts (& Half-Speeds).
Daniel Steffey   Disc called Chloros. This is a series of compositions made of collaged radio static and such.
Aaron Dilloway   Lip Syncing to Verne, his new LP on Hundebiss. Gotta love it.
Moon Pool & Dead Band   New S/T LP from a project involving Nate from Wolf Eyes.
Ake Hodell   U.S.S. Pacific Ocean. One of the earliest pieces of appropriation music out there...and still one of the best! 1968.
Phil Fucking Collins   "All The Hits At Once"...say no more.
All Together Now   "Everything the Beatles Ever Did" in one song at the same time...say no more.

Vacay was great, Fred. And no!!! I've been trying to unmask the author of Noise Park, but haven't been able to figure it out.

Brain ideas! They are known to happen here and there. They strike without warning.

Nat:

Thanks, Neil. Yeah, switching up content may help. A lot of it has to do with the limitations of Ableton! An "instrument" change is really what I'm fiending for.
  3:36am
fred:
