righteous toonz
  11:12am
Hugh:

'Morning, Micheal,
Carole King once remarked, on a PBS special, that Pleasant Valley Sunday was named after Pleasant Valley Rd., in W. Orange, where she lived as a child.
Avatar 11:14am
Michael:

I think Carole grew up in Westchester and moved to West Orange when she got married & started a family
  11:16am
Bob:

Flamin' Groovies yes!
  11:16am
Dave in Woodbridge:

How 'bout some Basher?
  11:17am
paul in FL:

Is "he won't deny me" the same song as "He brought me water"?
  11:32am
Peter:

Remember in the old days when there were ushers with flashlights in theatres?
  11:43am
Hugh:

Well, duuhh, 's funny how one remembers things! Thanks for the refresher!
  11:43am
Elias:

Michael, the radio signal was all crazy during that last song (Titus Turner). Now it appears to be back. It was really quiet and distorted.
  11:48am
Peter:

@Hugh - what I don't understand, is the economic model that made that viable (ditto with all those gas station attendants, like you see in "Back To The Future".
Avatar 11:50am
Michael:

Lack of greed was the business model

john & wendy:

Hedwig is pretty smart. And she's a girl. Or maybe you never heard of Harry Potter?
  12:05pm
scott:

"Cold December In Your Heart" (Alex Hassilev)
Thanks Mike
  12:06pm
Deepak:

this song reminds of an academy award winning short film, do check this out Michael.

  12:07pm
DG:

To add: Alex Hassilev (acc. to Wikipedia at least) is a former member of folk trio the Limeliters! (The group in "A Mighty Wind" is kind of a Limeliters parody).
  12:10pm
paul in FL:

Eskew Reeder = Esequerita?
Avatar 12:10pm
Michael:

indeed
  12:13pm
ss:

Alex Hassilev is also an actor and was in several films in the '60s. If I recall correctly, he was still a member of a modern-day version of the Limeliters until recently. I seem to remember that ex-Limeliter Glenn Yarbrough also cut a version of "Cold December in Your Heart," though I don't know if that was before or after Glen Campbell's.
  12:14pm
paul in FL:

Someday you should play "Esquerita" by Big Audio Dynamite
One of the 10 best songs ever!
  12:19pm
Brian in UK:

Good afternoon, Michael. Have you ever interviewed Albert Hammond?
Avatar 12:20pm
Michael:

no
  12:22pm
David in ATL from NJ:

Sounds like the Kinks!
  12:40pm
Elias:

There it is again! The Billie Cee song is really, really quiet over the air.
  12:42pm
Sean:

Michael, No choice but to tune in late this week. I will listen to the whole show once it hits the archive, but I was looking at the playlist and was curious if "Run, Run, Run" was a cover of the Townsend tune off of the "Magic Bus" LP?
  12:42pm
Elias:

Like the Titus Turner song, they were both almost completely inaudible, then as soon as the song ended volume was back to normal. Did they sound like that on the stream?
Avatar 12:44pm
Michael:

They must be OUT OF PHASE
Avatar 12:44pm
Michael:

my fault!
  12:44pm
drr:

The stream volume is fine (with occasional minor glitches that could be unique to my connection).
  12:45pm
johnk77:

Elias is correct about the broadcast over the air signal.
The Sam the Sham track was normai in relation to Michael's voice but the Billie Cee track was down about 20 or 30 db.
When Michael's voice came back after it was normal.
Listening to 91.1 in The Bronx.
We love this show!
  12:45pm
Elias:

I just figured you'd want to know.
  12:47pm
Elias:

johnk77, that's pretty good distance for 91.1! You are an official DX club member.
  12:52pm
DG:

Rachel Sweet! OMG! The Brenda Lee of Stiff Records! I actually have this album but haven't heard it in years (interviewed her for my college radio station).
  12:52pm
johnk77:

Yes, the over the air signal only sounds listenable on my Tivoli radios. Upstairs I patch the iTunes stream into my stereo.

Rachel Sweet straight out of Akron!
I am proud to have grown up in northern Ohio.
  12:53pm
DG:

R. Sweet trivia: She had her own show on the Comedy Channel (the predecessor to Comedy Central) and had a small role in the most (in)famous episode of "Seinfeld."
  12:59pm
ss:

Rachel's Comedy Channel show was called The Sweet Life, I think. She was funny! I think she played George's cousin in that Seinfeld episode.
