Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

And it appears to work for the majority of people.
But that level of debate just makes me want to leave the country.
But I think it's reflective of politics in most nations and blah. I don't see a way for things to get better. No room for pragmatism & honesty, only expediency & propaganda on all sides.

But the debate is being framed as: if we reject it, we're doomed - no-one will lend us money / everything will be better!
If we accept, we'll all have jobs! / If we accept we'll surrender our last vestage of independence!

Hi kat! What's for dinner? :)

My personal take is that our debt is unsustainable - a government official apparently acknowledged that, and said we'll have to seek a 50% write down on our debt in 4 years time - but that's not being debated publicly. Blah rabble rabble!
@Matt: I have come to the opinion that a large number of politicians are borderline sociopaths. They will... wave any flag, so long as it seems to promise personal advancement into the circles of power.
*shrug*
Sorry I'm ranty, I heart this show.

@od: Last week, the Helsinki city council decided to proactively try to prevent OWS from spreading here by banning all groups from erecting tents or stands of any kinds in public spaces. Of course the morons forgot that this is not only an asinine move towards OWS, but also prevents e.g. the scout jamborees from setting up tents and stands, political parties from setting up stands during election campaigns, and charities from setting up stands to feed the homeless.

of course, it is all explained in "Hugh's Hierarchy"- perhaps you've seen it?
Sociopaths run everything. Beneath them, the Clueless. At the bottom (and the happiest)
are the Losers. Lets all aspire to be losers!

@Caryn: I feel that within the next 10 years, there's going to be a fundamental reorganising of our how our societies function - whether that will be for the good or bad, I'm not sure, but at this point I'm leaning towards the latter - it wont end there of course, things will go back and forth, but in my lifetime... I only see the further erosion of civil liberties/rights
@dpcd - Sir, I am a Fundamentalist Loser!

The saddest group are the Clueless managers. They think if they work hard and sacrifice they will get to join the club at the top. Maybe this was true before but it sure as hell isn't now.
Send those kids to private kindergarten, pay a big mortgage, buy health insurance, expect a pension- you must borrow to keep on the treadmill, and you will find out too late how misguided those aspirations are.
The club is small and only a few super aggressive can marry or otherwise enter.
