Sarah Aroeste writes and sings in Ladino, the Judeo-Spanish dialect developed by Sephardic Jews after they were kicked out of Spain in 1492. Sarah will give us a guest-DJ-style musical introduction to the language: She'll spin some of the music that has inspired her as well as selections from her new Ladino-electric cd Gracia - the release of which she'll celebrate with a big gig at Joe's Pub on Thursday May 31st.

Athens was amazing! I stumbled upon an evening music festival/ protest in Omonia Square, right in front of the Parliament building..peaceful and exciting. almost agreed to play..! it was similar to OWS.. Anti system Graffiti slogans on every street corner..
I better get practising if you want to hear.. ;)
  6:44pm Marmalade Kitty:

I did manage to record some great Bouzouki and lute street performers, playing traditional songs
