Listener comments!

  12:14pm
paula pc:

two for two so far, Diane...wonderful opening!!!!
  12:14pm
BSI:

aah, I've seen this NAAM thing at me local shop, was curious...
  12:14pm
Cecile:

LOVE the colors. And the swirly, stormy music - perfect for a MN rainy day.
  12:20pm
Mike East:

I agree. This is what I need today...rainy here, too.
  12:21pm
BSI:

holy crap, this Dickies is quite the flashback...

kamikaze:

  12:22pm
Bad Ronald:

Excellent Dickies tune, thanks!
  12:25pm
PePe Von Hinee:

  12:32pm
pierre:

Hola / Bonjour / Hi
glad to slaughter some dishes !
  12:48pm
Luna:

MDF warmup show?
  12:49pm
Luna:

I hope there's some GODFLESH in the mix.
  12:50pm
PePe Von Hinee:

Diane comes on and the sun is shining..... Coinsidence I dont think so....
  1:01pm
Luna:

Hey DK: Do you have any Project: Failing Flesh?
  1:06pm
dc pat:

what th-? I missed the Dickies?? Feck. I like You Drive Me Ape You Big Gorilla. One of my all time fave tunes.
  1:11pm
BSI:

Dickies = 2nd show I ever attended; must've been about 1984, at the 9:30 club. Their cover of the Banana Splits theme was euphoric.
  1:14pm
dc pat:

BSI: funny, I think the first "punk" album I got was that You Drive Me Ape EP (which somebody swiped by the way).
  1:22pm
Cecile:

Australians! yay!
  1:27pm
Cecile:

what's your favorite classic Aussie hard rock band if you have one?
  1:28pm
Cheri Pi:

Whitehorse almost played Cincinnati! almost but no cigar-Diane tell them that they are loved in the midwest.
  1:28pm
Cecile:

What's the band that got you started on your musical path? How is it possible to do black metal in Australia when it is so sunny?
  1:28pm
Cheri Pi:

Cecile-I'm thrilled!
  1:29pm
Cheri Pi:

that's weird-I grew up w/ the Hoodoogurus & the Clean and Rose TATTOO...
  1:29pm
Cecile:

why are you thrilled?
  1:30pm
Cheri Pi:

Australia thrilled.
  1:30pm
Cecile:

Oh, Australians. :D
  1:30pm
Cecile:

Who is your favorite rap artist?
When are you playing in MN?
  1:31pm
Cheri Pi:

What Great Lakes Angst band do they list as an influence?
  1:34pm
Cecile:

Oh!
You guys into the Primitive Calculators?
  1:36pm
Cheri Pi:

Does it bother you when people think NZ & Australia are the same? Like Michigan & Ohio always get lumped together even though countless bloodless wars have etched those boundaries into our psyches?
  1:37pm
Cecile:

if by countless, you mean one. :D
Well, there is the aesthetic war, I guess.
  1:38pm
Cecile:

this sounds like Khanate on Vegemite.
  1:40pm
Cecile:

this must be the Swans in their dance-club phase.
  1:42pm
Cheri Pi:

Brujerias on their walkabout is fair play.
  1:42pm
dc pat:

WAIT a minute... New Zealand and Australia are different places??
  1:43pm
dc pat:

last Nick Cave show I went to, he endlessly insulted some NZ guy in the audience. Hilarious...
  1:45pm
Mr Donut:

Heavy Krampus?
  1:45pm
Cheri Pi:

When I visit the UP I hide my identity for my own safety/wounded pride that I'm now an Ohioan.
  1:47pm
Cecile:

I'm surprised you still visit. Your country's currency is terribly deflated.
  1:49pm
Cheri Pi:

well, I bring my own beer from ohio and pour it into a reusable empty Blatz can, and other short cuts that I"m too ashamed to talk aboot.
  1:50pm
BSI:

The rivers of blood that flow through Livonia are legendary, as are the carrion-birds that patrol those suburbs with the terrifying scowl of unfulfilled butchers...
  1:51pm
Cecile:

and we're not even going to talk about Kalamazoo.
  1:51pm
Cecile:

DK: WHY WOULD YOU PICK THAT?
  2:04pm
Cecile:

Pete: your beard is good.
  2:04pm
Cheri Pi:

'Scuse me-I won't be here for the next 2 weeks-I need someone to scream-type "Voivod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" for me, preferably during the first 5 seconds of the song if you can manage that I would really appreciate it :)
  2:05pm
Cheri Pi:

I wasn't going to say anything but since C opened up the discussion- Whitehorse are EASY on the eyes.
  2:05pm
Cecile:

I have my hands full scream-typing "Voivod!!!!!!!!!' for myself, girl
  2:06pm
Cheri Pi:

I know-it's hard to get a "VOIVOD!!!!" sitter these days...
  2:08pm
Cheri Pi:

I listen to this Batillus record on the wrong speeds all the time and it sounds great no matter 33 or 45.
  2:21pm
Cecile:

There should be a webcam in the studio so we can make sure everyone is headbanging.
  2:23pm
Cheri Pi:

As I was tearing onto the chat board today in my car, I was headbanging so hard at the stoplight that a guy wearing a suit jacket and khackie (sp) slacks threw me the devil horns.
  2:26pm
Cecile:

Nice!
  2:31pm
Cheri Pi:

NO CINCINNATI! sad faces.
  2:34pm
Cheri Pi:

Iron Maiden play soccer on tour, get some people together from other bands...
  2:40pm
Cecile:

you on Twitter?
  2:41pm
northguineahills:

When I lived in Gainesville, FL, we used to invite visiting bands (domestic and from abroad) to play a little footie (soccer) before their shows. Always jolly fun!
  2:43pm
Cheri Pi:

I could tell that they were nice from the beginning!
  2:46pm
Cecile:

Thank you, Whitehorse.
  2:49pm
Chris from DC:

Awesome stuff.
  2:49pm
BSI:

damn, NGH: A bit of pre-gig footie sounds brilliant. Particularly after being in a car all day to get to the venue, etc...
  2:49pm
Cheri Pi:

I love you Whitehorse!!
  2:53pm
northguineahills:

@BSI, yeah, and then we'd hit the bar and go to the gig, be it a club, coffee bar, or someone's house. Hard to coordinate that nowdays in Brooklyn.

A good WFMU dj theme would be to play bands w/ "*horse*" in their name....

this sounds really good loud...!
  2:54pm
BSI:

Agreed. I'm digging this particular horse with righteous abandon.
  2:55pm
Cecile:

now who is the popeye voice and who is the bluto voice in the band?
  2:55pm
Cecile:

Pete looks like a Bluto, but you never know.
  2:55pm
Tom L.:

I turned up the radio as loud as I could tolerate, now this WHITEHORSE track is vibrating my marrow.
  2:56pm
BSI:

bluteye? popto?
  2:57pm
Cecile:

VOIVOD x 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2:57pm
paula pc:

VOIVOD!!!!!!!
  2:58pm
Cheri Pi:

hahaha! I was just wondering about what processors they might use for the vocals...I consider J. Herremma a popeye voice.VOIVOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2:58pm
paula pc:

I couldn't help it -- I added a third -- and look at the exact same time...
  2:58pm
Cheri Pi:

VvOoIiVvOoDd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2:59pm
Cheri Pi:

Nice work PPC, & 'Cile
