  3:18pm SiHV:

Great to be hearing this again this year. Thanks FMU
  3:21pm Snortley:

Is the 91.1 transmitter down? Getting nothing but faint WSHU here in Brooklyn.
  3:21pm Julie:

Guys..I am hearing nothing but static on 91.1.. All my other radio is fine, so I don't think it is me :/
  3:21pm chris m.:

  3:22pm lena:

Lee sounds so cool!! wish I could listen to it all...& again & again!
  3:35pm lena:

oh...really hope Lee releases a live album!
  3:35pm Ken:

The WFMU Technology Curse is very strong today. The 91.1 fm transmitter has been off twice since Lee's set started. Back up now and our engineer is at the site now checking things out. Oh and Lee's set will definitely NOT be archived.
  3:35pm Ike:

Sounds good!
  3:36pm Joe D:

  3:36pm kat330:

Ken, was it when he was in studio, um, on Irwin's show IIRC?
  3:36pm Jorge:

Missing you guys ! hope you didnt get a stinky tent this year. Have a great time and let me know if you will be around Spain after the festival.
  3:39pm tim from champaign:

@Lena, you can catch Lee Ranaldo's live WFMU set archived on Brian Turner's show on 3/20/12. It's a barnburner. Plus there's a great interview with Lee too.
  3:40pm kat330:

Oh, no, Brian Turner's show. Yeah, thanks, Tim!
  3:41pm kat330:

There is a definite similarity vocally between Ranaldo and Stipe
  3:42pm lena:

@tim cool...will be listening to it later!!
  3:45pm socow:

  3:48pm Vicki:

Evening - waving from London :)
  3:48pm kat330:

  3:48pm kat330:

Hi, Vicki!
  3:49pm DJKurtG:

we're having potato-flavored ham back here at home base!
  3:50pm Mike East:

@kat330 - my sister made a potato salad with bacon, scallions, and other stuff that you'd typically find in a loaded up baked potato. It was amazing.
  3:51pm Jack E. Tar:

This is wonderful! Thanks from Newfoundland!!!
  3:51pm Mike East's Lunch:

  3:52pm glenn:

hey, the rock is here.
  3:52pm kat330:

@Mike: I don't routinely add sausage, but we had some leftover from grilling, and I thought eh, why not cut a bit up for flavor. I also add curry to my pot. salads.
  3:52pm ?:

Sounds like the Queen Haters
  3:53pm Jack E. Tar:

Hahaha - nice. The Rock is indeed here.

Mudhoney is one of the most fun bands to see live.
  4:22pm kat330:

@Netscape: I was using you 8 hours a day back in '95 for a job abstracting web sites. You were cutting edge at the time, baby.
  4:23pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  4:23pm SiHV:

This is makin' me pretty happy right now.

Come at me, bro? Fightin' words, Google.
  4:24pm Netscape:

Don't I know it. [holds razor blade to wrist]
  4:25pm kat330:

Great photo -- I can identify Liz and Brian -- the others?
  4:25pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  4:26pm Google:

That was AT&T issuing that challenge. Fuck him, he's more of a pussy than Verizon.

I saw Mudhoney exactly one week ago, best live band
  4:26pm fuckin dc pat:

no I mean I could not buy A FUCKING TICKET IN PGH. They're good guys.

  4:27pm Google:

Oh. My bad.
  4:29pm kat330:

4:30pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

  4:30pm fuckin dc pat:

it's funny that what ever AT&T says I have to go listen to it...dang.
  4:31pm kat330:

Yes, and I'm always apprehensive, too, but it would be an excellent way to push product. :)
  4:32pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Mudhoney playing their arses off...I bet the Mediterranean just lays there, unimpressed, maybe waving once in awhile.
  4:33pm C-:

"The Dionne quintuplets are treated to a visit to what's known in the radio business as a 'remote.'"
  4:33pm kat330:

I remember lots of monkeys in cages in Barcelona. If they're still around, bet they're diggin' Mudhoney.
  4:34pm Google:

  4:42pm Google:

You're fucking welcome. Now come over here and sit on my lap.
  4:42pm kat330:

This dude likes to sing a word over and over -- in multiple songs -- that rhymes with dc pat's search term.
  4:43pm Domenic:

I can't. I'm meeting At&T for gelato
  4:43pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

being here is a good way to spend a day, no doubt...so PRODUCTIVE
  4:43pm the glowing one:

nah, I rather stay here and sit in my lab
  4:44pm the glowing one's lab:

  4:44pm Ed Hopper:

I'm feeling inspired by these commenters. Nighthawks in the chat room?
  4:44pm AT&T:
  4:46pm kat330:

Busted, Google! No thanks on the lap offer.
  4:47pm Google:

AT&T is a libellous douchenozzle. With a tiny pecker.
  4:48pm kat330:

Ma Bell's a dude? Things are not what they seem today, hoohas and all...
  4:49pm Carmichael:

Whoa. Just caught up with you folks and the whole Primavera thing. This is gonna be great!

And I hate the bloody queen!
And her Falklands War Machine!
I'd kick her in the face!
Yes, that would make me laugh!
  4:49pm web md:

the "tiny pecker" of a female is actually known as a "clitoris". thank you.
  4:51pm kat330:

Just wonder if my next time w/Primavera will ever be as good as this first time. You never forget your first time.
  4:51pm Google:

Meh. What's gender between corporate fuck buddies?
  4:52pm Ernestine:

Or a ringy-dingy in either rest room. Now don't make me start washing mouths with soap and getting Ma Bell Spankzilla on each and every one of your misbehaving bottoms.
4:52pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

The sound of a tiny pecker is music to my ears.
  4:53pm Carmichael:

This is a little upbeat, compared to previous years. It's always been a wall of sound, sea of noise, sky rattling kind of thing.
  4:53pm web md:

interesting choice of music, adam
  4:54pm AT&T:
  4:55pm kat330:

He sounds joyful.
  4:56pm Carmichael:

Thee Oh Sees should be tree-MEN-dous!!
  4:57pm kat330:

I have this delightful image of AT&T scrambling around to get these .wavs put together and posted.
  4:57pm Google:

Dentist? higher tax bracket? Oh AT&T, your empty, yet funny threats have me in stitches.
  4:58pm northguineahills:

Thank you WFMU et al! I have to bounce, jet, vamoose! This Mudhoney set has made me happy. I need to go to the hardware store for more gardening supplies. Ciaosers WFMUers!
  4:59pm kat330:

@Google, I don't see you bustin' your butt to be as clever. :)

Bye (moi!) NGH!
  4:59pm helper:

Say this back to AT&T, OK? OK? Say, "I'm your huckleberry." OK?
  5:01pm Google:

Because i don't know how to do those .wav thingies. Not that i'm ashamed of my ironic computer illiteracy or anything.
  5:01pm robot frangry:
  5:02pm Google:

And this lap's still empty, btw.
  5:04pm Billy Jam:

now we're talkin' Dicks Hate Police
  5:06pm kat330:

@Google: I'm FORCED to be AT&T's bitch. At this point and in this place at any rate. It's still better than being Insight's bitch.
  5:08pm ANT:

Yes. Yes. YES. Right as I tune in Mudhoney covers "Fix Me". So much fantasticness.
  5:08pm northguineahills:

Þakka þér kat330!
  5:08pm kat330:

Oooh, you folks are getting what we had yesterday evening. Torrents. Cats and dogs.
  5:08pm fuckin dc pat:

Yeah, we're getting some weather down here too..
  5:09pm Mike East:

Oh no - Billy Jam!! I just realized you're not on tonight! Whoever's on in your slot better have some pumpin' bass!!
  5:10pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The rain in Barcelona stays mainly in the plain.
  5:10pm Parq:

One thing I do remember from my brief, distant forays into Barca is that ham is real, real big there.
  5:10pm fuckin dc pat:

  5:10pm fuckin dc pat:

  5:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If you see Bas, NL, tell him "Hi" from the US.
  5:11pm tim from champaign:

Next year I suggest that WFMU send Billy Jam, Glen Jones and X-Ray Burns to Barcelona to MC WFMUs segments.
  5:11pm northguineahills:

Noooooooooooooo! LOAF! I need to leave now to meet the missus! I don't want to wait for the archive (if it will be on the archive) sniff :(
  5:13pm Mike East:

@tim, I'm pretty sure the DJ's pay their own way, so I think its up to them...but I agree...after all, it is the International Brotherhood of Jones.
  5:14pm kat330:

Love the depiction of a ham on the package. Really gets the juices flowing that.
  5:14pm fuckin dc pat:

  5:14pm Chris from DC:

Whoa, the Archers sound great.
  5:14pm Mike East:

I also think that Ham chips should be someone's premium next year. I want some, and I'm willing to pay a high price for them.
  5:14pm pierre:

redescoverir le pleasure du jambon
  5:15pm kat330:

See, pat, it's worth all the abuse!
  5:15pm Flutter Nuts:

  5:16pm kat330:

@pierre: That's what it says on the package en francais?
  5:16pm Mike East's Lunch:

  5:16pm joe:

Bring back some Ham Chips for Ken & Andy to give out at a UCB show.
  5:17pm fuckin dc pat:

@kat: ah, I deserve the abuse, I know...
  5:17pm kat330:

Will they pass muster at customs?
  5:17pm Petey boy 71:

Mudhoney??? Archers of Loaf???? I'm in bliss!!!
  5:17pm Chris from DC:

I think Melvins cancelled
  5:17pm kat330:

At least your daughter owes you some. :)
  5:18pm G:

I think they mentioned an hour or so ago that the Melvins had flaked, oops, I mean canceled
  5:18pm kat330:

Custom Muster...hmmm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Liz B.:

Yeah, bummed about the Melvins cancelling. Oh well.
  5:19pm fuckin dc pat:

Interesting how you can tell they must still have the full group present.
  5:20pm Billy Jam:

hi Mike East - actually it is nice to have day off and just tune in for year 4 from Primavera - but Tim from Chamgaign - I second that great suggestion of yours! - oh and speaking of chips - has anyone tried those chocolate covered potato chips? Saw em @ TJs and was tempted
  5:22pm Mike East:

@Billy Jam - I've had chocolate covered chips, but they were homemade. I'm sure they'd be delicious pre-packaged as well. Nothing better for the munchies than salty and sweet. Enjoy the weekend!

@My Lunch - I don't wanna hear it!
  5:23pm Mr Donut:

Maybe it's a trick and they'll play as Melvins Lite
  5:23pm fuckin dc pat:

"nobody gave a fuck"
  5:23pm Richard from Venezuela:

Just checking in. Thanks wfmu for this special. invaluable music gift to the listeners.
  5:24pm fuckin dc pat:

Def try choc covered chips
  5:24pm Flutter Nuts:

one month and we get a great run of Melvins lite dates up here in the Canada's
  5:24pm kat330:

Heard it. And all the Mudhoney "sucks". A rhyming theme has developed for sure.
  5:25pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I've made chocolate potato chips before and they're delicious.

Get some Baked Lays chips and a Snickers bar. Cut the Snickers into pieces and put on the Baked Lays. Happy mouth!
  5:25pm Billy Jam:

at DC Pat - I thought I heard that too :) - and yes will now go try dem choc potato chips
  5:26pm Farley:

Chuck you, kat330.

I like ground pepper on chips/crisps, but that's as much as I want to tinker w/the potato.
  5:27pm Nina Si-moan:

"Buck, you're a whole lotta man...."
  5:27pm robot frangry:

You're all dead to me!

I'm trying to lose some weight, now my mouth is watering.
  5:27pm fuckin dc pat:

Holy crap my mouth is watering. AoL is playing all the good ones!!
  5:28pm kat330:

Watering for a loaf?
  5:28pm fuckin dc pat:

You and me robot!
  5:28pm Carmichael:

Diggin' the loaf.
  5:30pm fuckin dc pat:

Sorry but Archers blow Mudhoney off the stage
  5:30pm Robert Christgau:

Although the Archers are often described as a cross between Superchunk and Pavement, the Superchunk connection is mostly regional--the Archers are from Asheville via Chapel Hill and have ties to the indie purists' Merge label. Listen to Merge's surprisingly strong, rarely transcendent 5 Rows of Teeth compilation and you'll hear a bunch of bands who sound kind of like the Archers, certainly more than Superchunk do--Bricks, Pipe, Butterglory, the well-buzzed Polvo, even Drive Like Jehu. The Archers are vertical where Superchunk is horizontal--their acceleration is up to speed, but their dissonance is over the top. With Pavement, on the other hand, they share a crucial aural gestalt: tuneful two-guitar breaks that set off unkempt explosions before recombining in brief climaxes soon interrupted by more disarray. The Archers aren't omnireferential pomo hook-quoters--their melodic content is both less pervasive and more organic--and Eric Bachmann's pissed off, speechlike yowl-to-croak isn't as callow or pop as Steve Malkmus's demented, speechlike croon-to-whine. In short, they're altogether less precious than Pavement--they're punker, and they rock more. But of all the bands who've gone someplace special with Amerindie noize-toon, Pavement and the Archers are the densest, and that density defines them both.
  5:30pm kat330:

I'd agree with that, pat.
  5:32pm glenn:

  5:33pm glenn:

  5:34pm AT&T:
  5:34pm meghan:

Fuck yeah!!!!! I get to hear it live!!!
  5:35pm fuckin dc pat:

Right on Cristgau and kat
  5:36pm glenn:

meghan said a swearie.
  5:38pm Coffee Cola:

Really digging Chameleons, WFMU you kill it!
  5:38pm Carmichael:

Christgau lost me with the whole vertical/horizontal uberanalysis. But I agree with his ultimate conclusion that Archers kick ass.
  5:41pm meghan:

Since I am web only I can do that..... Right? This Chameleons set sounds great
  5:41pm kat330:

JT/Philo arrives and we lose....nope it's back!
  5:42pm Richard from Venezuela:

Agreed with meghan. Chameleons sound perfect in this set.
  5:42pm other david:

Chameleons sounding absolutely awesome!

Nibbling pizza and enjoying a beer, win win
  5:44pm the glowing one:

anyone who likes The Chameleons should also check out And Also The Trees
  5:46pm Carmichael:

Awesome, OD. I will be beered and perhaps pizza-ed in a few short hours.
  5:47pm Carmichael:

Fuckin' A you can, Meghan.
  5:47pm kat330:

@other david: Another box for your boat, eh? We're getting ready to have some potato salad -- been a potato kinda afternoon.
  5:48pm Billy Jam:

hello Other David and Carmichael
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm BT:

Hey all, just posted full schedule of broadcasts to top of this playlist page. Melvins cancelled just added the Cure...
  5:49pm other david:

@kat: Nice, but as Jesus once said "You cant make a boat out of potato salad"
  5:49pm meghan:

Ha! Thanks Carmichael!
  5:50pm kat330:

Hope we can remain tuned in for the Faithfull Cure hour.
  5:50pm Richard from Venezuela:

I missed Mudhoney stream :(
  5:51pm kat330:

Liz, any way we can know in advance what will and what will NOT be archived? Or was it only Ranaldo not?
  5:51pm other david:

Hey Billy Jam, glad to see you tuning in, ditto Meghan!

Love this station & the folks who make it what it is.
  5:52pm kat330:

@OD: Which book was that quote in? I've eaten some potato salad that I believe one *could* build a boat with, btw.
  5:53pm George of Troy:

Loving this Chameleons set!
  5:54pm Philo Gristle:

Sucks how many I missed (no streaming at work) but Chameleons sounds outstanding. Great job WFMU on covering this.
  5:54pm other david:

@kat: oh it was in the back somewhere. You're not suggesting I made it up, surely?

I challenge you to a boat off
  5:58pm Stanley:

Hi Brian and the gang. Just tuned in and it sounds great already. Wish I was there but glad I'm here.
  5:59pm Stanley The Meat Guy:

That wasn't Stanley The Meat Guy
  6:01pm Stanley:

I don't think I've had the pleasure.
  6:01pm meghan:

When I saw them at Maxwells they sounded amazing and were super tight.
  6:12pm kat330:

OK, back at keyboard. So it's a hit or miss, literally, on whether any given artist will be archived?

@OD: This potato salad we're eating right now would float your boat. Mmm, delish, if I do say so myself.
  6:14pm Philo Gristle:

I'll vouch for the potato salad!
  6:15pm kat330:

Think I might like the Wilco burger the best.
  6:17pm Carmichael:

OK, back jammin' out the work. Hiya Billy! Thanks for the schedule, BT. Oh Sees at 8:30!!
  6:20pm other david:

@Kat: I remain unconvinced - I shall see you somewhere off the Shetland Islands around 6AM tomorrow for the sea worthiness trials

Enjoying Milk Music.

Ah WFMU where the fill-ins for The Melvins are some iconic band who sold billions of records :)
  6:21pm kat330:

I would dearly LOVE to travel to the Shetland Islands, whatever the excuse.

As for the Cure, I once dressed up like Robert Smith for Halloween.
  6:21pm Parq:

Make mine a Wilco too, please. It just took me five minutes to figure out that "hamborgesa ternera ecologica" is a burger with grass-fed beef.
  6:22pm other david:

Has anyone alerted Julie to The Cure joining the schedule?

*illuminates the upside down bat signal*
  6:23pm Philo Gristle:

Being semi-lactose intolerant, I don't enjoy milk but the music is outstanding.
  6:23pm Stanley:

Aw, this is great.
  6:24pm kat330:

Love the Milk Music. But no milk w/ my Wilco burger or potato salad. Never liked milk much even as a child.
Avatar 6:24pm Clay Pigeon:

Hello in Barcelona! Much love ...
  6:25pm kat330:

Hey, Clay!
  6:25pm other david:

Well if it aint Mr. Awesome himself :)

Have to run. Off to buy a canvas before 7pm. Doing a bit of painting tonight hopefully. Adios mi amigos/amigas! Viva Primavera! Imagining Brian Turner pounding multiple San Miguel's.
  6:28pm kat330:

If you can stay up over there through The Cure's set, guess I'd feel a real wuss not to here. But I still hope it will be archived.
  6:29pm other david:

Cya later Clay, take care
  6:29pm kat330:

Happy painting! Music should inspire you!
Avatar 6:30pm Clay Pigeon:

Bye Kat and O.D. See you next week.
  6:32pm Philo Gristle:

So Milk Music big Dinosaur Jr fans?
  6:32pm Stanley:

Can I say how much I enjoyed the Milk Music set?

Very much.
  6:33pm other david:

Are The Cure still on a major record label? Would imagine that leads to a lot of the archiving headaches...

Brian/Liz/Jason - do many artists just happen to walk by the stall, see it's WFMU and call in?
  6:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Would it be a good idea to have a laptop at the WFMU stall with the playlist up and passers-by could type in their comments?
  6:37pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Back in March I saw Thee Oh Sees at 35 Denton. They melted my face.
  6:38pm seang:

thanks for doing this FMU
  6:39pm fuckin dc pat:

Oh thee Oh Sees FCKIN RULE!!!
  6:39pm kat330:

Gonna pass on this but will be back later to listen for sure! Bye and thanks so much all who are making this possible. Also to the clowns who delighted me on the comments today, hats off!
  6:39pm Rudy Eugene:

Mmm, face melt...
  6:40pm fuckin dc pat:

  6:59pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I see AT&T is still at it..cheers
  6:59pm kat330:

Back -- nice!
  7:01pm kat330:

DCE, not at it so I can hear anything. Are you getting a "Not Found" page for the last AT&T?
  7:02pm AT&T:
  7:03pm kat330:

Philo said he heard it -- oh, hunh, new link.
  7:03pm Bas, NL:

Hello all! Best wishes from Primavera Sound where i just visited the WFMU tent and saw an amazing show by The Cure! So happy to be here; thanks to WFMU!
  7:03pm kat330:

Bas! You lucky dog!
  7:04pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Bas. Great that you having fun at Primavera Sound
  7:04pm Bas, NL:

@kat330: Yes i am ;)
  7:05pm Bas, NL:

Hi Richard!
  7:07pm Parq:

Way to go, Bas. Represent.
  7:09pm Galganga:

Had my fingers crossed they'd play this one- Thanks WFMU for broadcasting!
  7:10pm AT&T:
  7:11pm kat330:

For you, Bas (AT&T)!
  7:13pm Philo Gristle:

Really liking Spiritualized.... somehow passed them by in the 90s. The keyboard part here reminds me of 'Cheree,' with an odd alt country lope.
  7:17pm kat330:

A lot of DJ play in May for Spiritualized and the rest of 2012 primavera, too.
  7:17pm fuckin dc pat:

ATT, ain't working anymore
  7:18pm knasterask:

Lovely Spiritualized!
This is what we need now <3
  7:19pm AT&T:
  7:23pm kat330:

I was beginning to figure as much, A. Philo said one of the ones you posted after I departed had said "see ya, kat330" -- is he making that up? If not, so sorry to have missed it. Almost makes me want to behave like a loyal customer. :)
  7:24pm fuckin dc pat:

ATT: if yer talkin about spiritualized, I concur.
  7:25pm fuckin dc pat:

crap Oh Sees is going to happen when I'm putting my amazing son to bed. Hmmm....
  7:25pm knasterask:

Wow! They are playing Born, Never Asked/Laurie Anderson! :-)
  7:25pm fuckin dc pat:

oh wait, forgot about Wilco! Cool!
  7:26pm kat330:

Pat, I THINK A. is talking about the clips. Geez, are you aware Father's Day is just around the corner?! First the daughter and now the son get in your way. :)
  7:27pm other david:

This is gorgeous
  7:27pm AT&T:
  7:29pm kat330:

Sweet! :)
  7:30pm kat330:

And so is the music!
  7:30pm oscar Sky:

so, is no one clapping there? or, is it a mic placement thing?
  7:31pm kat330:

I wondered, too, about the lack of audience sounds.
  7:32pm other david:

guessing they're plugged into the soundboard
  7:33pm jtm:

True! why the lack of audiences in the stream?
  7:41pm jtm:

AT&T cant you find a TTS service that wont evaporate after 11 seconds?
  7:41pm AT&T:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm BT:

These are board mixes with some live ambient mics, so you can hear the crowd but not very u[ in the mix. Unfortunately that's how it goes, we're going in favor of the best possible sound for the performances as a priority....
  7:43pm kat330:

Very erudite voice in this one. Ma Bell w/ multiple personality disorder.
  7:43pm Philo Gristle:

No complaints. Sound is fantastic even streamed. Outstanding job.
  7:44pm kat330:

Thanks, BT (and A) for the explanations.
  7:44pm jtm:

well spiritualized sound mega awesome. just curious.
  7:46pm kat330:

Audience sounds!!!!
  7:47pm other david:

  7:49pm kat330:

You vets, is it really this awesome (used correctly) every year? This is such a special treat.
  7:49pm notglenn:

Hello everyone!
  7:49pm notglenn:

Hello everyone!
  7:49pm notglenn:

Hello everyone!
  7:50pm kat330:

Guess I'm gonna find out posthaste, ha!
  7:51pm jtm:

did wilco cancel too?
  7:51pm Philo Gristle:

Sound isn't quite as Clean. But love the band.
  7:53pm other david:

@kat: I wandered across WFMU by accident two years back, searching for an obscure calypso artist. Around that time the Primavera special happened to be on. Instantly and forever-more hooked to WFMU.

It is indeed an awesome little treat. Like chocolate covered bacon flavoured chips/crisps.
  7:53pm Philo Gristle:

Wilco coming up. Not huge fan, but when Nels Cline goes centerstage it's like Sonny Sharrock with Herbie Mann.
  7:55pm kat330:

What a happy accident, OD! Like chocolate finding peanut butter for a Reese's Cup.
  7:56pm BT:

very kool story Other D....glad you found us and hope yr digging this years soundz
  7:57pm AT&T:
  7:58pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

For a minute there it sounded like Roy Ziegler was there with the vesuvias he made from a metal trashcan and a trombone.
  7:59pm kat330:

That was a mighty strange accent there, A, but I believe I could make out chocolate and peanut butter.
  8:01pm kat330:

BGZ, thought I heard a vuvuzela or two myself. Some of us asked about audience sounds and, as usual, the FMU crew delivers. :)
  8:02pm kat330:

This sounds pristine clean. Kudos to all the sound engineers!
  8:04pm InterzoneChris:

BGZ, Roy Ziegler happens to be in London with Bob Mould
  8:05pm other david:

I know a guy who dedicated years to studying the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot shortwave number station & its relatives, after decades on the air, it switched off in March 2011, he hasnt been the same since!
  8:08pm other david:

@BT: definitely digging it this year - fantastic sets. Thanks for doing this, it's really appreciated.
  8:12pm northguineahills:

My shortwave boombox couldn't pick up those stations, so the recordings of them were the best I have.
  8:12pm kat330:

I recall listening to WXRT's live concert recordings when in Chicago in the early '90s, but never sounded this good.
  8:14pm fuckin dc pat:

oh dang, is Wilco that good group I keep forgetting to get into?
  8:16pm northguineahills:

Wilco's "ghost" is phenomenal, fuckin dc pat..... take my word for it....
  8:17pm kat330:

#1 dad is back!
  8:17pm kat330:

I love the "dang" juxtaposed w/your handle.
  8:19pm fuckin dc pat:

nels cline is what gets me. ANy you guys ever listen to Gerladine Fibbers?
  8:19pm dang dc pat:

thank you kat
  8:20pm Philo Gristle:

Heard 'Butch' after some other stuff, nice Can cover. But "Pants" was what got me, then Mike Watt's Engine Room album. Best post-Quine guitar player IMO.
  8:21pm kat330:

Better alliteration and assonance.
  8:22pm northguineahills:

I saw the Gerladine Fibbers in '97. Good fun, but, I admit, I don't own any of their albums.
  8:23pm dang dc pat:

Wilco is way more punk than they use to be. I first noticed it when I saw the Canty documentary here in dc.
  8:24pm Footie2:

Is it live really
  8:24pm Footie2:

Is it live really
  8:24pm dang dc pat:

oh man NGH, Carla is one of my fave singers.
  8:24pm kat330:

Exactly my thought, dang.
  8:24pm Philo Gristle:

Much is much better live than in studio, methinks.
  8:25pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

dc pat, I just brought out the Geraldine Fibbers cassette to play in my car today...backed with Ween's "The Mollusk". Good memories.
  8:25pm kat330:

@8:23 not 8:24
  8:25pm Philo Gristle:

Has she done anything post-Fibbers?
  8:26pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, Evangelista, great band.
  8:26pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  8:27pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

on a trip back to the mid-late 90s...
  8:27pm Philo Gristle:

  8:28pm kat330:

Gol, there are so many of you DC people. You give the NJ/NY contingent a run for the money -- or just more run of the fingers?
  8:28pm oscar Sky:

I like Jay Bennett Wilco best.
  8:28pm dang dc pat:

figured it out kat....I think, hey what's wrong with Carla?

Philo: lots of stuff, more country now but her voice is still fantastic....not so screamy now..
  8:29pm dang dc pat:

@kat: we talk about this all the time: dc radio blows so we all have to go to NY/NJ
  8:29pm kat330:

Nothing wrong, don't know to say one way or another. That's Philo's generation and era.
  8:30pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

someone get me another beer, please
  8:31pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

are they eating the tapas over there?
  8:31pm Philo Gristle:

There was always a bit of a honkytonk vibe to the Fibbers, too. I'm not buying an LP a day like I used to, bit out of touch these days.
  8:32pm northguineahills:

Carla Bozulich has totally reinvented herself since GF. She is awesome.
  8:32pm kat330:

@DCE: Ham chips and Wilco burgers. I'd go for the tapas myself.
  8:32pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

now you can download 10 albums a day instead
  8:32pm Goatflower:

The rain over there falls mainly on the flatter-terrained areas, I've heard.
  8:32pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  8:32pm dang dc pat:

oh wait! Kat hearts Philo!!! I forgot, lover birds!!
  8:33pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

shit, haven't heard this in awhile
  8:33pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

is Philo kat's other half?
  8:33pm Footie2:

Saw Wilco at RCMH, NYC. Brilliant. Tweety and band were awesum live
  8:33pm Ike:

Woah, this Wilco set is nice.
8:34pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

John Dwyer's about to punch your cones.
  8:34pm Philo Gristle:

Being a graphic artist it's just not the same. I want the damn OBJECT plus the music.

@ddcp yeah, we're sharing popcorn while tapping away at our respective laptops here.
  8:34pm kat330:

Pat, how many beers have you had exactly? Is it time to cut dad off? :)

And, yes, we're wedded "lover birds."
  8:34pm Mark:

What if Grand Funk just showed up right now and tore into it. Wow.
  8:35pm dang dc pat:

DCE: Ill lets them speak's for them selve's
  8:35pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

haha, yes, Grand Funk should do a fucking set
  8:35pm dang dc pat:

jeeze kat, just 2 but I'm going out for more. I'm just normally a jerk.
  8:36pm kat330:

The couple who comments together, um..... the duo who does FMU together , um, help me out ATT!
  8:36pm Don:

Grand Funk would straighten some s--t out over there.
  8:37pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I think I'll hang out with y'all until the noise show starts. Opening can #2.
  8:37pm kat330:

This tune gets a lot of local airplay (WFPK).
  8:37pm Footie2:

GFunk - are any of those guys still with us. Maybe a set from the afterlife. Great band but limited contribution to genre.
  8:37pm Chris from DC:

Gotta see these guys play sometime. This is a nice set.
  8:37pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I wish my wife would do FMU with me, but she's a catholic school teacher
  8:39pm dang dc pat:

wow, Wilco has got a lot less punk in the last 15 or so...

My wife hepped me to Wilco but says she hates going to shows because she can't see anything and it's too loud. She's about 5'5" and I don't blame her.
  8:40pm Mr. Frost:

Grand Funk alive? Mark Farner is. The other two sold him out long ago.
  8:40pm kat330:

Why would Catholicism stop her? The Catholic girls around these parts make me seem like a Puritan.

And I'm solo during the day. PG can't stream at his office, unlike all you DC folks. :)
  8:41pm AT&T:
  8:41pm Footie2:

Thanks Mr. Frost - I'll check it out
  8:41pm Chris from DC:

I can't imagine not being able to stream this at the office. There are days it's the only thing that keeps me sane, more or less.
  8:42pm kat330:

You seeeeeely, seeeeeely person, A!
  8:42pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  8:42pm other david:

@kat: Because of Leviticus: "Thou shalt not listen to a radio station, whose station manager dresses in melted vinyl LP's"
  8:42pm Keith Carradine's Millener:

Wilco should collectively wrestle Matchbox 20 for rights to open for Maroon 5.
  8:43pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  8:43pm kat330:

OD, you know the good book backwards and forwards. I'm impressed.
  8:44pm Keith Carradine's Millener:

I don't mean it. I'm just jealous.
  8:44pm Mark K:

Sounding great guys - looking forward to tomorrow!
  8:44pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

everyone has their own gifts
  8:44pm kat330:

Keith Carradine, ack! I have a serious aversion to the guy. Can't define or explain it, he just disturbs me when I see him on screen.
  8:46pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

maybe it was the way he died?
  8:46pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

or was that David Carradine...
  8:47pm Philo Gristle:

Yeah, on Halloween don't arrive on our door dressed as a spider or as Keith Carradine. Just sayin'.
  8:47pm dang dc pat:

oh heck, pop group and off tomorrow.
  8:47pm Randolph Mantooth:

Mystery band will be the reunited Grand Funk!
  8:47pm kat330:

Keith is still with us AFAIK.
  8:49pm kat330:

The father and brother, fine, but KC...can't explain it, but there are a few others with that effect.
  8:49pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

hey turn that guitar up buddy
  8:49pm AT&T:
  8:50pm Loadstar:

I bet Antonio Banderas is pokin' around there somewhere. If Dali was alive, he would be there.
8:50pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Oooof, I can't wait until Thee Oh Sees return to make the barnyard beasts dance at Pickathon this year!
  8:50pm other david:

*commissions a velvet portrait of Keith Carradine especially for kat*
  8:51pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Pablo Picasso would be there too!
  8:51pm dang dc pat:

oh I get it, you thought I was plowed because of my apostrophe deviltry up there. That was just to piss off Ike.
  8:51pm I'm Easy:

Didn't Carradine star in the Material Girl video?
  8:51pm seang:

and donald rumsfeld too
  8:51pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

this is killing
8:52pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

I'd love to see an Oh Sees and Liars tour come to be. The potential for echo reiteration would be mammoth.
  8:52pm kat330:

Separate bowls and tables between our chairs.
  8:52pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

donald rumsfeld...I can practically see him dancing to this set, throwing beer cans at the stage
  8:53pm Philo Gristle:

Thee Oh Sees Throb. Audience oozes.
  8:53pm Helmut:

I wish Hasselhoff would commandeer the stage and just OWN.
  8:54pm kat330:

"Am I dancing and throwing beer cans at the stage? Well, maybe I am and maybe I am not."
  8:55pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

"there are known knowns..."
  8:55pm Athena:

This may be the last big show before Europe tanks. Party!
  8:56pm kat330:

Adam, you must have some serious girth to straddle two zip codes!
8:57pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

John Dwyer is the bay's *genuine* Based God.
  8:59pm AT&T:
8:59pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@kat330, hahaha! John Dwyer taught me everything I stow. ;-)
  9:02pm kat330:

Oooh, just realized. Will The Cure set include Lullaby? About the only instance I'm not so creeped out by spiders.
"On candy stripe legs the Spiderman comes / Softly through the shadow of the evening sun / Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead /"
Just don't be wearing a Keith Carradine mask, Spiderman.
  9:05pm dang dc pat:

this is when it gets rill good..
  9:05pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

now that's fuzz
  9:05pm Julie:

I can't wait for The Cure! I'm so excited!
  9:05pm dang dc pat:

12 string mayhem
  9:06pm Philo Gristle:

@ddcp What's the best TOS album?
  9:06pm kat330:

Someone alerted you, Julie! :) Yeah, me, too.
  9:06pm dang dc pat:

Help. it's hit after hit.
  9:08pm Philo Gristle:

Thanks. This set is killer.
9:09pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

@PG, I'm partial to "The Master's Bedroom...."
  9:09pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

makes me want to wrestle with the guitar for a bit myself
  9:10pm dang dc pat:

go see them when they come around too. It'll be cheap and great. That's the only kind of rawk I go see anymore.
  9:10pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I think I have to shake my ass a bit now
9:10pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

You haven't lived until you've communed with Thee Oh Sees face-to-face.
  9:11pm dang dc pat:

AiPaL: Exactly what I'm talkin about.
  9:11pm SteveL:

Unless I'm mistaken, Thee Oh Sees appear to rock.
  9:12pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

god a few years ago they played here in a little dive bar in the industrial part of town, but I missed it
  9:12pm kat330:

This one's a mover all right.
9:13pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

High five, ddcp!
  9:14pm SteveL:

They've been through Fort Wayne once or twice. I've yet to see them. If they come back, that should change.
  9:14pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

change "should" to "will"
  9:14pm AT&T:
9:15pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Pogoing and beer fountains!!!
  9:16pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

if I was wearing a hoodie, it would be up, and I would be drunk-dancing
  9:18pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

the picture of them is wrong. it should be much closer, much more intimate. you should get wet if you're in front.
  9:20pm kat330:

Oh, right, SteveL -- a fellow Hoosier!
9:20pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Thee Oh Sees smell like levitation!
  9:20pm dang dc pat:

when I saw them some guy on who rode in on a tall bike was spitting whiskey all over Dwyer while he played. Need I say more?
  9:21pm dang dc pat:

"Dude, could you stop spitting whiskey on me??"
  9:22pm kat330:

  9:22pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

and up come the lights
  9:23pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

on go the smartphones
  9:23pm SteveL:

Nice production, but that's not a surprise for WFMU.
  9:25pm Julie:

Reeves Gabrels is playing with the Cure right now too
  9:26pm Julie:

@Kat I heard on the radio at home, but I'm actually back at JC helping things run, so I'm doubly lucky.
  9:27pm seang:

that's cool, Reeves from Tin Machine
  9:27pm Philo Gristle:

I'll admit to liking some of Tin Machine.
  9:28pm dang dc pat:

canNOT miss Pop Group tomorrow. Shit, are they touring?
  9:28pm kat330:

Someone had mentioned sending up the bat signal about The Cure to you. :)
  9:30pm BT:

Julie, isn't Tim board opping tonight?
  9:33pm Philo Gristle:

Logging off the list for tonight, will still stream and listen tho. Thanks WFMU and listfellows for a great Friday! See ya tomorrow.
  9:33pm Julie:

Tim is on board tomorrow night, BT
  9:34pm Mike East:

I'm sorry if its been said fifty times already, but is everything on the broadcast schedule slated to be archived (except for Lee Ranaldo) for at least a period or are more groups opting out?
  9:34pm kat330:

The Clean should have come right before Dirty Beaches. How are the beaches there, btw? Clean or dirty?
  9:34pm SteveL:

Marianne Faithful, The Cure, The Men, Obits, OFF.

[checking supplies, locking doors]
  9:34pm Mike East:

good night Philo Gristle!
  9:35pm kat330:

I asked Mike, but never got an answer. I think it's perhaps uncertain?
  9:37pm kat330:

Oh, we'll still be listening, you bet! But yeah, probably time to close the ol' laptops and take the Allegro box to the BR to listen.

Keep having a shitload of fun, kids! I'll read all about it since at least the comments will be archived. :) G'night!!
  9:37pm Mike East:

I can understand that. I just wish I didn't have to miss so much waiting at the bus station and riding home. Thanks for doing this, WFMU.
  9:39pm other david:

G'night Kat, enjoy!

Will just have to wait and see, I'm sure they're still trying to tie things up, also it's 03:40 in Barca, yikes.

Hey Julie!
  9:40pm Julie:

3:40 am? That's NOTHING! :D
  9:40pm BT:

Mike, keep an eye on our home page and blog with regard to the archiving. Some artists have specific timeframes for the archiving, some will be unlimited; some will wind up for download on the Free Music Archive no doubt after the dust settles. Right now the only non-streaming archive is Lee's set, but you can listen to his set in the WFMU studio with a quite-similar setlist on my show this past March 20th: http://wfmu.org/playlists/BT -
  9:40pm kat330:

Bye, OD! And thanks, AT&T, for making me smile so many times. :)
  9:42pm other david:

Oi Julie, these folks are mere mortals, not goths :P
  9:45pm Mike East:

I heard it live BT! - both today AND on your show...so its not so bad that he's not archiving this one. His album is going to be my next musical purchase because of what I heard on FMU, so it works out all around. Thanks for all the work you're doing!
  9:46pm dang dc pat:

ok must checking in to say s'long. I have to GET BEER NOW Kat...sheesh! And hang with my wifey....adios.
  9:46pm Mike East:

...but I recommend everyone checks out that in studio performance!
  9:47pm Mike East:

dang, dc pat; I got a beer for 'ya. A round of Yuenglings on me!
  9:49pm seang:

is this Jim Morrison?
  9:51pm Julie:

that was kinda morrisoney wasn't it (not morrisey)
  9:53pm seang:

  9:54pm Julie:

wow even this opening here is very Doors
  9:54pm AT&T:
  9:58pm Galganga:

Fantastic set! I had wondered what Dirty Beaches would sound like live
  10:02pm Julie:

Leather shorts?? Tights?
  10:04pm Julie:

  10:07pm dang dc pat:

thanks Mike. Ended up with Red Stripes and got totally soaked walking the 3 blocks to the market. man, I mean it was like Niagara suddenly.
  10:08pm Julie:

  10:10pm Mike East:

its been on and off up here, too. Cheers!
  10:17pm Julie:

Marianne does Lenny? SWEET
  10:18pm Torque:

Can't buy a power chord.
  10:20pm dang dc pat:

I wonder if Marianne ever tasted a cigarette in her life...
  10:21pm Torque:

She's on the patch.
  10:22pm seang:

anyone ever see Omar Souleyman live?
  10:23pm other david:

Marianne had a really bad period in her life, drug addiction, homeless & sleeping rough for years. It's a wonder she's still alive, and it's brilliant she's still gigging.. what's it that Saul Steinberg said.. “what we respond to in any work of art is the artist’s struggle against his or her limitations.”
  10:23pm dang dc pat:

seang: man, that is the #1 gig I'd like to see right now
  10:24pm Bob:

I seen Head East at the Missouri State Fair.
  10:25pm seang:

yeah he's playing here in Boston on Monday with Dengue fever--should be good
  10:25pm Julie:

no wayyyyyyyy who doesn't like The Cure?
  10:26pm Lux:

Isn't it like almost dawn over there?
  10:26pm dang dc pat:

oh crap, Dengue fever too, wish they'd come here...wait a minute...
  10:26pm other david:

Woop woop! This shall be awesome
  10:27pm Enri:

In France , we looove ze Cure!
  10:29pm BT:

His voice sounds better than it ever has, I think, which is pretty remarkable....
  10:29pm dang dc pat:

crap he's here next week!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH. THANKS Seang.
  10:30pm Julie:

this is perfect for 3 am in europe
  10:31pm Krull:

I'm runnin' on Dunkin'.
  10:31pm Julie:

<turns it up LOUD>
  10:31pm ?:

Got those wind chimes on 10!
  10:32pm seang:

yeah Omar should be rockin!!
  10:32pm Julie:

  10:34pm Jacksailor:

I've got a fever, and the only Cure is more wind chimes!!!
  10:34pm other david:

Flashback to being a teen, being heartbroken, listening to "Pictures of You" and then wanting to climb under a rock forevermore.
  10:36pm AT&T:
  10:36pm ?:

More Chimes! Haha Jacksailor!
  10:36pm dang dc pat:

I'm scrambling to get somebody to go to Souleyman with me but I'll go by myself...I WILL!
  10:36pm seang:

Charlotte Sometimes
  10:36pm northguineahills:

I saw the Cure in Gainesville, Fl in '96, and I was amazed that Robert still sounded awesome even though he was fat. This sounds just as good, or even better....
  10:36pm PF Flyer:

Does Bob have white tennies on?
  10:37pm Julie:

Robert Smith I will always love you
  10:37pm northguineahills:

thanks WFMU! this is beautiful!
  10:38pm Andrew Waterloo:

Robert Smith and your granny on windchimes
  10:38pm dang dc pat:

speaking of fat, and egg shaped, Pete Shelley still sounds great too.
  10:39pm Jonathon Cain:

I wish there would just be a wild, inexplicable keytar solo right now. A Chick Corea unauthorized walk-on.
  10:39pm Jacksailor:

Push... Good stuff.
  10:41pm other david:

I'm imagining that from out of the dark depths, a horde of goths are now swarming around the WFMU tent, smoking cloves
  10:41pm seang:

what if Omar would just bum rush the stage right now
  10:41pm BT:

just mosquitos right now.
  10:42pm Terry Knight:

Omar and Mark Farner!

  10:42pm Julie:

  10:43pm other david:

  10:44pm northguineahills:

I don't smoke anymore, but damn, I could go for a clove right now. That was HS.
  10:45pm Mrs. Hansen:

I heard a keyboard error.
  10:46pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks for having The Cure come out to play.
  10:46pm seang:

got this on full blast!!
  10:46pm Lowell:

I hope they play Fascination Street.
  10:47pm other david:

Oh for..sake.. classic after classic!
10:48pm Adam in Portland and Lynnwood:

Be careful, Robert! Raise the drawbridge to your heart!!
  10:48pm Andrew Waterloo:

My favourite is still High
  10:49pm Julie:

they sound just perfect
  10:49pm Hollyweed:

I heard once that Tim Burton wanted Robert Smith to play Edward Scissorhands, but he declined.
  10:49pm Chris from DC:

Wow, they nailed that one.
  10:50pm Julie:

That explains the hair
  10:50pm Cure-aid:

Killing an Arab.
  10:50pm other david:

  10:51pm Jacksailor:

Deep... Green...
  10:51pm Nigel:

No synth strings?
  10:53pm Geoffrey Cobb:

Those delay pedals are starting to smoke.

  11:00pm MARC:

I LOVE THE CURE!! They were all i listened to in college. I loved their depressing songs and soulful lyrics.
  11:01pm northguineahills:

My favorite cure song, "A Forest"!.
  11:02pm Julie:

heeh OD, I KNOW right?
  11:04pm MARC:

Mine are "love song," "closedown," and "Just Like Heaven"
  11:05pm 120 Minutes:

Chances they play "Mint Car"
  11:06pm 120 Minutes:

  11:06pm other david:

Yes, it's 4am music, yes it's 4am here, and yes I'm on a high from that set, they sounded great.

Thank you for bringing this to us WFMU :)
  11:06pm Julie:

was that the entire set? Phenomenal
  11:06pm MARC:

these sets will be on the FMA??
  11:08pm Julie:

Friends of mine who NEVER listen to WFMU were listening to that set.
  11:08pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Julie: Not the full set. They said earlier that they played around three hours.
  11:13pm Joe E:

Not to be redundant but the sound is soooo good!
  11:13pm Julie:

@Bad 3 hours?? Are they Springsteen? Are you sure? They had said they were playing 3 ALBUMS on their tour.
  11:14pm MARC:

I got texts from my FB friends who listened. i posted the festival info.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Liz B.:

Yep, it was about a 3-hr set. We got permission for the first hour.
  11:16pm Julie:

Our folks over there work so hard bringing the festival to us, yay team!
  11:17pm Julie:

wow it really was?? I thought he'd said three albums. that is nuts!
  11:17pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Julie: I'm going by what Brian and Liz were saying earlier, I think it was between Spiritualized and Wilco when they mentioned the set length. And I recall somebody making a Springsteen reference about the set length on air.
  11:17pm Julie:

that blows my mind.
  11:18pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Julie: Was solving math when Liz posted. :)
  11:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I like the goth dancers from South Park. There was one episode where Robert Smith saved the world from giant Barbra Streisand, if I recall correctly.
  11:19pm Julie:

Math is hard
  11:21pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Especially when the answer is like 882. I lose track of how many times I've counted my fingers and toes.
  11:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

At least with WFMU math, you never have to carry the 1.
  11:23pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Will the sdrow ytrid also be backmasked in the archives?
  11:25pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Ken: You are correct. Kyle tells Robert that "Disintegration" is the best album ever.
  11:26pm SD:

'bout time mudhoney got some love from FMU! :P
  11:27pm denver chris:

head on the door no question
  11:27pm Julie:

are those the goth kids or the emo kids?
  11:28pm denver chris:

old kids
  11:29pm Goth Kid:

GOTH KIDS, totally. None of those Twilight-emo-kids, this was like, three seasons before that whole mess.

The proper Goth way to dance: sway head, look down at shoes, turn, and take a drag on your cig. It's beautiful.
  11:29pm Ken From Hyde Park:

They're for sure not the vampire kids.
  11:30pm Julie:

now isn't that technically shoegazing?
  11:30pm other david:

  11:31pm Julie:

so who is who in that photo? which is brian, liz, jason and scott?
  11:32pm Goth Kid:

I don't care what they say, about looking down at guitar pedals, THAT is what shoegazing really is. Or should be.

Man, I need a smoke..
  11:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Men are playing fine music. Then, it's Harvey Milk and then the sun will come up. Where did the time go?
  11:35pm Andrew Waterloo:

Your shoes.. why else would people be staring at them?
  11:35pm Julie:

and then we wait breathlessly for the archive of things we missed, or to just listen to The Cure again :)
  11:37pm Julie:

ewww ham chips
  11:38pm Kyle B.:

Yeah Julie! Disintegration is the best album ever!

(Though personally, I think The Cure's really early 80s albums also are strong contenders. That's when they established their style.)

Liz, Brian, Scott W, Jason and Scott K - hope you get a good rest this morning and are refreshed for tomorrow, thanks for working the crazy hours, traipsing around to record sets, fighting off giant mosquitos and bringing these shows to us, it's hugely appreciated :)

Julie, thanks for doing the board work, that the Cure coincided with you being there was rather serendipitous!

Cya tomorrow folks
  11:50pm Julie:

seriously, best board op shift EVER

this rules so much
  11:55pm Tree Rodent Corpse:

Alright, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up.
  12:03am SiHV:

Harvey Milk. Longer than time and higher than sound.
  10:32am kat330:

Julie! Also enjoyed the chimes, Philo not as much (in fact he said it detracted), but to me it was like being sprinkled with aural fairy dust. :)

LOVED the Faithfull CURE hour -- thanks FMU!!! Unhappy Lullaby wasn't included but, hey, if I ever got a request or hoped-for song to happen, it might mean the end of the world. We're pumped for the Primavera return today!
