Cecile:
yay, dave and Robbie Basho!
9:50am
Cecile:
this is the kind of folk I like. Tough sounding, moody and with a good groove.
9:50am
Cecile:
Ha! Knew it was Martin or Steeleye.
9:52am
Cecile:
A decent Ren Fest folk band asked us for requests and we asked for "one misty moisty morning" by the Span and they did it in perfect SEVEN part harmony. They were thrilled.
9:53am
maestroso:
Yeah, this is a fine set.
9:54am
pierre:
Bonjour Dave Mandl !
9:55am
BSI:
@Cecile: a grand request, that. I would've gone for the gut & demanded a full rendition of King Henry... their arrangement was tops.
Oh, Paris would be wonderful too. Haven't been there in a long time. Sniff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kx5RPHoR0A4
it has a very special instrument in it.
11:05am
the glowing one:

11:10am
Larry Jacobson:
Great early morning (westcoast time) work music. Focus - sheesh!
11:11am
Bonny:
Boro Park-i grew up there. Probably the least cool place in B'klyn.
@Bonny: True. That's why it was so surreal. It was a former movie theater on New Utrecht Ave., the "Loews 46th St." or something.
11:15am
the glowing one:
if you've seen the documentary Step Across The Border then I'm sure you will remember it.
11:16am
Bonny:
Right. I used to go to that theater to see movies like Vampires in Space plus 25 cartoons. Once Jerry Lewis showed up in person. I was outta there by the time the Dead showed up.
@Pierre: Well, I want my daughter to see Paris (she's never been there), so maybe soon. She heard me speak two sentences of French in Montreal and now tells everyone, "My dad speaks French!"
11:25am
pierre:
: )
what was those sentences ?
11:27am
northguineahills:
The second time in a week classic Pharoah Sanders was played.
