Greetings from the self-declared "Live Music Capital of the World" Austin, TX.

Are you at a taco truck?
  12:18am
Taco Truck:

Could you lure him away, plz? Thx
  12:20am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Sadly, no. I've spent the evening in my hotel room working. I went record shopping earlier. Waterloo still had several copies of the Mynah Birds RSD single, so now I have one.

Tom - In Gravesend Brooklyn:

2112 first one I bought .,., then had to get the first 3 after that,,, kind of gave up on them after like ... Power Windows and then most of the 90's but when Vapor Trails came out I am not ashamed to admit fell in love with them all over again and ALL the stuff between like Vapor trails and before that too .. ! ..
  12:40am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I've heard good things about the new Rush record. "Vapor Trails" and that covers EP have been the only post-"Grace Under Pressure" releases I've liked. I need to see if the new one is on Spotify so I can decide whether or not I'm going to pick it up.
  12:41am
fletcher:

fly by night...first signs of the "prog" tendencies and urges to air drum...nice !!
  12:42am
Chop Scott:

Thank you Therese! I have totally have accepted the Rush fan in me.

I am hear to serve, Chop Scott.

Julie:

yay canada day
  12:48am
Chop Scott:

By writing "have" twice shows how deeply ingrained Rush was to my growing up in the armpit part of the country.
Avatar 12:49am
Therese:

Because Canadians don't use contractions?
  12:50am
Julie:

I still say Nick Gilder sounds like a girl
Avatar 12:51am
Therese:

I agree, Julie
  12:51am
Ken From Hyde Park:

More Nick Gilder can probably be found in Evan "Funk" Davies' archives.
  12:51am
Tom - In Gravesend Brooklyn:

""don't be Denied ''"' < love that Neil Tune ..
  12:52am
Julie:

I'm sure all of this can...he is quite the canuckophile
  12:53am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I saw the preview for Jonathan Demme's latest Neil Young movie ["Journeys"] twice last week. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I considered breaking into the volunteer office to borrow a copy of EFD's 2012 premium.
  12:56am
Julie:

ooh that would've been hilarious..must..have..canadian!
  1:04am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Disco Independance makes me think of Pirates of Penzance for some reason. That in turn makes me think of "The Pirate Movie" and now I'm wondering what Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol are up to.
  1:06am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The "subliminal messages" tutorial is especially tremendous!
  1:08am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

"Take Off"?
  1:08am
Julie:

I played the great white north theme when I did my canada show
  1:09am
Julie:

conjunction junction what's your function?
  1:12am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

There was a similar collection that had "modern rockers" covering Saturday morning cartoon theme songs. I was going to be part of the backing vocals on Toadies cover of the Groovie Goolies theme song, but I was sick the day they recorded it. :(

Nick the Bard:

You know, someone should remind me that I should actually sleep in the afternoon before I do my shows...
  1:23am
Julie:

Nick, I KNOW right?
  1:24am
david:

nice e.e.
Avatar 1:26am
Therese:

Naps are pretty much my favorite thing in the world, Nick.
  1:28am
Nick the Bard:

If I take a nap now, I'll sleep through the show and the next one, so that's not going to help anyone (@_@;)
  1:28am
david:

I like 50 minute naps, otherwise 2 hours.
Avatar 1:31am
Therese:

I read somewhere that one full sleep cycle is 90 minutes, which therefore is the optimum length for a nap.
  1:31am
Julie:

it's always those couple of hours before the show I get sleepy
  1:39am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I worked a graveyard shift for a few years and it was near impossible to maintain any sort of regular sleep schedule. I would often wake up in the middle of the afternoon and not be able to get back to sleep. Well, at least not until about an hour before I needed to get up. Fighting that HUGE wall of sleep for an hour was always a treat.
  1:41am
david:

Freedom! 90 holds up over time. George Michael kicked off the '90s "getting real."
Avatar 1:43am
Therese:

David- totally. That song makes me so happy.
  1:55am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Oh dear. :\
  1:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Does he at least play the sound of a teleprinter in the background?
  1:58am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

HAL 9000
  1:59am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I think Nick might get a call from the robot. #Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Avatar 2:05am

It is, Julie!
  2:13am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

This is a deep, deep dusty cut.
Avatar 2:15am
Therese:

This Creedence song has been popping in and out of my head for the past several weeks.
  2:23am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

That's not a bad thing to have in your head.
  2:31am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Have you heard Destruction Unit?
Avatar 2:33am
Therese:

Hmm... No, I don't think so.
  2:41am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

They opened for The Men last night. It was one of the craziest shows I've been to in ages. Crazy in that I genuinely feared for my safety a bit. There were some technical snafus which led to member of the band tossing instruments and stage equipment around and throwing various bottles and cans at the audience. Someone in the audience started throwing lit firecrackers everywhere. I have no idea if that's their schtick, but it was something to experience. Musically they sounded like Thee Oh Sees if Peter Murphy did vocals. The frontman played drums for Jay Reatard at some point. I bought the record. I'm looking forward to listening to it when I get home [one of these days I'll buy one of those battery-powered Crosley mini record players to take with me on my travels].
  2:56am
Julie:

ooh i like this
  2:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

For a split second I thought it was going to be the overture to 2112.

And I agree with Julie; this is quite nice.
Avatar 2:58am
Therese:

The Young will be Terre's guests on the Cherry Blossom Clinic this coming Saturday!
  2:59am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Have a great week, Therese! I hope your Independence Day is splendid. And I hope things improve quickly for your sister and her family. :)
  3:00am
Julie:

thank you Therese! Everyone wish Nick a happy birthday :D
  3:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Julie, hopefully I'll have fingers left when your next show occurs so I don't have to hammer away at the keyboard with stumps.
  3:02am
Julie:

and the girl with her tongue cut out :(
Avatar 3:03am
Therese:

Which was some sort of statement on gender, wasn't it?
  3:06am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I haven't read the book or seen the movie. I read "The Hotel New Hampshire" based on a recommendation by my high school chemistry teacher. I enjoyed it.
