Did WFMU fall into a sink hole?
  3:05am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Good evening/morning everyone!
  3:08am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Is anyone else experiencing "chattering" sound? I don't know if it's an audio level thing, but when during louder passages the sound starts cutting out. It sounds like I'm listening through a box fan. It's creating a chatter/stutter kind of effect.
  3:09am
Glovanie:

Good morning Julie. Still not sick of The Birthday Massacre I see. Neither am I. ;)
Avatar 3:09am
Julie:

Good morning, folks!
  3:10am

Irwin was having difficulty with the equipment this afternoon.
Avatar 3:10am
Julie:

Stutter? Oh no that's not good
Avatar 3:12am
Julie:

I had one cd player act up on me at the first song, but everything else sounds okay to me so far.
  3:12am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I think Irwin's issue was related to a CDr that the players wouldn't play. I could be wrong about that though.
Avatar 3:13am
Julie:

that's what happened to me! and it played perfectly in my car. (grumble)
  3:16am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The stutter was very noticeable during "In the Dark" and it did it a little during "Sunsi." Haven't noticed it since so perhaps it's resolved itself.

I've had issues with CDrs that wouldn't play in a vehicle's player but would play fine on a dedicated CD/DVD player.
Avatar 3:17am
Julie:

Yes Bad that was the cd with the issue. Sunsi was a poorly recorded demo with sound problems inherent.
  3:17am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Pat Benatar has a wonderful voice. I believe she had classical training as a teenager. Regardless, I think her vocal talent is underappreciated.
  3:19am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Was it "In the Dark" that skipped last week or the week before? I recall a song you played skipping in the middle. It might have been during Therese's show though.
Avatar 3:20am
Julie:

@Bad yeah i had that problem before, I have a feeling it is a particular cd player.
  3:20am
Roberto:

Oh great, how am I supposed to go to bed with all these great KB tunes playing? Will be regretting at the office tomorrow...
Avatar 3:21am
Julie:

Hi there Roberto!
  3:22am
Roberto:

KB provided much of the soundtrack to my college years. Holding up quite nicely all these years later.
  3:22am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Did you manage to nab a copy of the Kate Bush 1979 soundboard recording that briefly made the rounds a few months ago? Apparently it was the audio from a show that was filmed for TV but never broadcast. I heard the label is planning on releasing it commercially in the coming months.
Avatar 3:24am
Julie:

Hmm no I hadn't heard that. But I imagine it's similar to the Hammersmith Odeon concert that I'm not sure was ever out on CD
  3:29am

Ooooo! Kate Bush covers Elton John! Ha!

@fred: don't forget to add Roy Lichtenstein to the mix
.....if I read the cryptic show title correctly....the pop art-kate-bush-olympics triumvirate....who knows where this will lead...

It makes sense, Julies knows a lot about triumvirates

hehe nope not me..but I've been there!
  4:21am

You need the sound of a needle dropping on an album. The Supersuckers added that at the midway point of one of their CDs.
Avatar 4:22am
Julie:

happy Birthday Mark! @Bad the way to have done it would have been to have TWO copies of the record.

I don't watch.. not until the rhythmic gymnastics..for some inexplicable reason I like those
  4:45am
meghan:

No I was in a car for the whole opening ceremony. Never heard anything about punks. Did hear some amazingly stupid woman ask what was up with all the Abe Lincoln's.

They also cut from the tribute to the victims of a terrorist bombing in London to show Ryan Seacrest interviewing Michael Phelps. NBC said the tribute wouldn't appeal to Americans.

The sout-east and London areas get most of the little sun and warmth available, on average 2-4°C warmer than the north-east/west, where rain is most prevalent; Manchester trapped between peak district and pennines and the bleak Irish sea! :(

Thanks Julie!!!! :)
  8:06am
Van in DC:

Julie, didn't I alert you to the KaTe soundboard? It was a full unreleased concert recording. Source was a VHS to CD-R unbroadcast Granada TV 'On the Road' film, and the concert was a KaTe concert at the Manchester Apollo. The AUDIO has been released but I don't think the video has surfaced yet, though it WAS shown at a special event in a Stourbridge, England hotel in 2011.

I have that soundboard. It is *wonderful*
