	12:50pm Cheri Pi: Oh yeah, and I lived in Seattle from 1980-85 so my formative years weren't all fucked up with commercial radio like if I had been in Cincinnati during that precious time.
	12:51pm Torque: Two older brothers who went off to Brown Institute of Radio Technology in Minneapolis and North Texas State. They brought home stuff I'd never heard of back then. The Bubble Puppy, Flamin' Groovies, The Move.

	12:51pm Cecile: we read the record reviews in Stereo Review, and old Rolling stones from the public library, and we watched for anything Lester Bangs wrote. We picked up whatever free publication was at the record store when we went travelling.

	12:54pm Cecile: we rifled through the record collections of people we babysat for and played the good ones when the kids went to sleep.

	12:55pm Cheri Pi: Oh yes, Torque, I had them too after I moved here. We weren't doing too bad in Cinci but my natural curiosity and exposure to killer music I brought with me, I'm not sure if I would have turned out this weird had I not moved around...QUeensryche lived in my neighborhood!!!

	12:56pm Torque: I remember a friend buying Never Miind The Bollocks and the first Van Halen LP on the same day. Listening to both of those blew my mind. I didn't know which way to turn, so I just rotated in circles and blew a 1/2 a noisy.

	12:58pm 100% real dc pat: when I was 14 all I cared about was the Who and Kinks. Then when I was 15 I found out about the Pistols and that was it. "Punk rock changed my life"
	12:58pm Cecile: Torque, no it was before Angel City. It was Skyhooks, Sherbet, Little River Band and this new group AC/DC. Also a ton of funk, glam, and 60s garage band I never heard in the States.
	12:59pm Torque: Is that Wiggins as in Shaggs Wiggins? @Cecile - I saw a live clip of Little River Band the other day. I have to say I've reconsidered them. They were pretty damned good live.

	1:00pm Cecile: That's about the same time it happened to me, dcp. When I was 14, I said Elton John was my favorite artist, even though he wasn't because I didn't want to say Charley Pride or 3 Dog Night. The next year I was a raving Skyhooks and AC/DC fan, and could parse and diagram the top 40 in my sleep.

	1:01pm Torque: Was Brian Johnson'd 'Geordie' an Aussie band? I'm thinking Scottish. At any rate, always thought he did an admirable job of 'trying' to fill-in for Bon.
	1:02pm Cecile: Torque, critics were surprised when they and AC/DC broke in the states before Sherbet and Skyhooks. But both bands werent' afraid of touring forever. Before about '78, LRB were halfway decent.

	1:06pm Cecile: I don't remember Gary Thain, but I remember David Byon. From Uriah Heep. Skyhooks supported them on their first American tour.
	1:06pm Torque: Ian Paice. Maybe the best rock drummer of all.
	1:07pm Torque: Gary Thain was Uriah's bassist. Great one. He was electrocuted onstage and died not long after of complications. RIP.
	1:07pm Cecile: I remember David Byron. He led Uriah Heep who Skyhooks supported on their first American tour.
	1:08pm Cecile: I didn't know Gary Thain, but turns out he was in Heep as well. I wasn't a Uriah Heep fan.
