I just bought a space-themed BBC record that has that Holst piece on it.
Seems like lots of my LP purchases have been space-themed lately.

Would you download your cds and store them in a virtual space on the web and then rid yourself of the physical cd etc.

I must say I hardly ever listen to the music on it now as it has destroyed my interest in the artwork, band information and details etc. that I had in each individual album.
The storage media may be useful but ultimately makes everything characterless and meaningless!

Wuz just going to say, regarding the last track, that a firemen's union labor dispute seems an unusual topic for a psychedelic pop song

Honestly, the comments come pouring in so fast while I'm trying to queue each new record and do mic breaks AND respond to comments — I guess I start from the assumption that everyone is making perfect sense. And you tend to make perfecter sense than most. So no, I didn't notice anything amiss!

@Hugo: Kurt and to the point, yeah. Just events in '91-'92 returned me to a highly radio-active state after a long absence.

The cruel truth that Tony's show will come to an end is only now looming on the horizon. You can curl up fetal in the corner, or you can remain steadfast in the desperate hope that TWO MORE SHOWS coming up later on the Drummer Stream will provide a measure of comfort:
At 6pm, I will be back with a 1-hour edition of Give the Drummer Some. The show will be an epic paean to jury duty (my service to which may put the kibosh on my Friday GTDS)
At 7pm, Kaminsky Kamoutsky with Jesse will be live on the stream. Jesse will be flying solo tonight from his new digs in Providence, RI.
Immediately following Tony here on your 24-hour Give the Drummer Radio, these fine artists will try to take the sting out of waiting a whole week until Tony comes back with Tape Hiss next Tuesday:
Les Tambours Du Bronx
Jackson C. Frank
Nubar & Ibrahim Bey
Mezz Mezzrow
The Blue Notes (the South African, not Harold Melvin's band)
Sonny Okosun
Djosinha
Blackman Akeeb Kareen & His Super Band
The Oriental Funk
Sutrak Aksonthong
Kazuki Tomokawa
Kuldeep Manak
Rosie N. Wilson
Smokey and His Sister
Willie West
Willie Williams
Daddy Stovepipe
and more
and more
and eternally more...
