A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

sugarwolfe: mini chickens! des would love them! i saw denise posted pix of mini knitted obama figures. mini is cute for someone else to do, not me. i am threatening to start a sweater any day now, or resume one i started for des that has me confounded about how to change the yoke without disrupting the pattern

  10:48am
Brian in UK:

Back at sugarwolf 10:14. My wife promised me a lovely Arran blue sweater 'bout three years ago. It's barely a tabard yet. It will come back into fashion. Too much jam/chutney making, cross stitching, veg growing & general surviving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am
trouble:

brian in uk; home knit sweaters are always in fashion. i hear you about the no time to knit. when i am sitting still i should be sleeping
  10:51am
Brian in UK:

Cecile, went to see this last night. It's the third best Albanian film I have seen this year. Just kidding. Doubt if it will get much of an airing over your way.

i'm just happy scarf weather is here... yay!
  10:54am

brian, have you ever seen "before the rain"? serbo-croatian tale, very moving
  10:55am
Cecile:

that sounds great, Brian.
Did you see Beasts of the Southern Wild?
  10:57am
annie:

i want to see that cecile, very much, it came and went here.. i missed out. did you like it?
  10:58am
Brian in UK:

annie, you know I think I have but it was a while ago. Uncompromising, if memory serves.
  10:58am
Cecile:

I liked it. I admired its storytelling and its actors. I wasn't emotionally blown away by it, but it was something different and really well done.
  10:59am
Cecile:

my friends who were from New Orleans had a stronger reaction to it, which is understandable. It's kind of a Katrina metaphor...
  11:00am
annie:

i saw the film which was its precursor, i liked it alot.. and i saw that movie with the two kids who run away.. moonlight island?? yes, true about that cecile, it was inspired by katrina
  11:00am
Cecile:

still for the fact it was made for a stupidly low amount of money it is dazzling. Makes you realize how unimaginative most filmmakers are.
  11:00am
annie:

yes, brian, a very hard yet vividly beautiful movie to watch
  11:00am
Brian in UK:

Cecile, it has not been released here yet. Next month?
  11:01am
Cecile:

maybe? it's in really limited distribution here.
