Now that's a great animated Heart!
  3:07pm
Mary Wing:

(Kurt, may I have that Heart 45 when you're done with it? Don't give it to Joe!)
  3:08pm
fred:

Good afternoon Kurt, and to Mary too
Avatar 3:12pm
DJKG:

mary, i'll leave it in your box.
  3:13pm
kat330:

@Mary: Hi! Yeah, two weeks in a row -- kudos to MN Jeff!

Hi, Kurt & fred!
  3:16pm
Jersiest City:

What great gig were you referring to earlier? Please do tell.
  3:16pm
kat330:

The Rev. has a similar guitar style to Dave Van Ronk.
  3:19pm
stingy d:

so there's a professor gary davis and a reverand gary davis... i like 'em both.

  3:22pm
Mary Wing:

Thanks, KG!

I wish I had someone like Minnesota Jeff to make animations for *my* show.... :-(
  3:23pm
Jersiest City:

Ah, thanks a lot
  3:24pm

Ann 'n' Nanc always give me a seizure, at least today there's a nice pic to induce it :-) Good Show, Poodle Soup!

green mountain man mark:

wow. has it already been a week since the last show! I still have not recovered from the stunning heart/mine gif from Minnesota Jeff last week.
  3:31pm
Minnesots Jeff:

Dang, thanks folks!
  3:33pm
green mountain man mark:

Is it me or is there a tiny quick flash of Ric Ocasek in this gf from Minnesota Jeff? Could also be that I have been on a Ric Ocasek kick this afternoon.
  3:33pm
kat330:

Ah, approaching motorcycle sound....here comes my man... gotta go. Have a continuing good show and weekend as well!
  3:33pm
Joe-Lean:

Dreams starting playing right when the rain started falling again! It was perfect! Everyone was sad but calm. Yet happy!
  3:36pm
green mountain man mark:

too bad there is not really a country song about getting all worked up from sneezing at the sun. Maybe I should write one.
  3:36pm
Minnesots Jeff:

Ric Ocasek is not present.
  3:37pm
green mountain man mark:

@3:36 Minnesots Jeff: thought so. Knew it was my own mind playing tricks on me.
  3:38pm
northguineahills:

More Merle Haggard, please!

Kurt, your story which included red polka dots gave an idea for the Chinese protesters protesting Japan's claim on certain islands in the East China Sea, They should just get a large white cloth w/ red polka dots and that way, they can stomp on more Japanese flags at once. I need to get out more.

Dang, I'd forgotten the E-Beat covered this Andy song.
  3:50pm
green mountain man mark:

@3:44 northguineahills: Yeah. I have seen that wiki page. Once I get the sneeze box going and used by people I will go and wiki the page up with that.
  3:50pm
Carmichael:

Hiya Kurt, hi everyone, hello English Beat.
  3:51pm
LibertyGirlNYC:

awesome ode to andy
  3:55pm
northguineahills:

Needs more Ivan(d)s, may Eyvand Kang.
  3:56pm
northguineahills:

may=maybe
  3:57pm
green mountain man mark:

the sneeze box design I have is using a small mag light. not tested enough yet. I am a photic sneezer but the thing I have found is that people who sneeze at bright lights don't do it every time. It is almost like your head needs to be "ready" for a sneeze or at least taken by surprise with a bright light such as the sun, as in coming around a corner and viola! the sun+sneeze.
Avatar 3:57pm
DJKG:

i love that counterintuitive pronounciation page, guinea! and also your plans for invading japan.
  4:00pm
Rev 9 Dollbraker:

I'm glad this is archived because your voice over the slowed down TheseDreams is WAY too cute to only listen to once.
  4:00pm
Minnesots Jeff:

This slowed down 'These Dreams' is perfectly believable as a released single.
  4:03pm
green mountain man mark:

I wonder if Ric Ocasek sneezes at the sun. I will ask him.
  4:06pm
green mountain man mark:

Andy Williams was a pretty cool guy especially as he got older.
  4:06pm
Droll:

[taking mini-break required by hearing backwards and slowed down Heart]
This song is a hit at any speed in any direction!
  4:08pm
Carmichael:

Now that Mr. Williams has passed, will The Bear finally get his cookie?
  4:09pm
fred:

@green mountain man mark: I guess you'll have to fit this song into your project now
  4:14pm
green mountain man mark:

achoo!
  4:17pm
green mountain man mark:

The number I have for Ric Ocasek doesn't work. Anyone here have his up to date number?
  4:18pm
Carmichael:

I found an awesome online program that will separate ach image of an animated gif: www.gif-explode.com

In case there's confusion about who may or may not be in a given gif. Nevertheless, it's still a great piece of art, Jeff!
  4:32pm
fred:

@DJKG: have you done your Cage concert by now?
Avatar 4:34pm
DJKG:

i did, yes. and someone in the audience did call my cell phone. thanks for remembering!
  4:36pm
fred:

I heard John Tilbury play Cage yesterday, it reminded me of what you said about that cell phone trick. Are you happy with how it went?
Avatar 4:39pm
DJKG:

oh, tilbury plays that beautifully! yeah, it was a fun show. not many phones ringing but it worked out anyway.
  4:42pm
fred:

He was indeed great. Glad that it worked out, it's not that easy to pull off something relevant this year
Avatar 4:44pm
DJKG:

ha! well, i dunno how relevant it was, but we had a good time.
  4:47pm
Mike East:

hey, I think these guys might rent gear from us sometimes. Almglocken and the like.
  4:48pm
Carmichael:

Oh, today is National Drink Beer Day: http://eatocracy.cnn.com/2012/09/28/national-drink-beer-day/?hpt=hp_bn11
  4:52pm
fred:

That's what I meant, what annoyed me this year with the centennial over here was how most things were either stilted -- 4'33 as a shut off ceremony -- or opportunistic anything-goes and that struck me as very wrong. You can get it and have fun. I even think you should
  4:53pm
Mike East:

Cheers, Carmichael!
Avatar 4:54pm
DJKG:

there've been some really great cage events in nyc. of course plenty of stilted and uninteresting things as well...
  4:59pm
fred:

Carmichael, I knew I should have stopped for a Guinness on my way back from work. I'm with you in spirit
  5:04pm
green mountain man mark:

I can't find Ric Ocasek's number anywhere here. Does anybody have it?
  5:06pm
Minnesots Jeff:

YES! YES! YES!!
  5:07pm
Cecile:

rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  5:08pm
PKNY:

Oh hell yes! This one's for Cliff!
  5:08pm
green mountain man mark:

I remember when I bought this Metallica album. I was sitting in my bedroom listening to it and a born again (at the time) Christian cousin visiting came in and gave me a big lecture about how the devil inspires all of this.
  5:09pm
green mountain man mark:

memories!!
  5:09pm
Carmichael:

Damn right the devil inspires this. I wouldn't listen to it otherwise.
  5:10pm
fred:

True story: a guy at IRCAM played Seek & Destroy at the end of his PhD defense. The topic was simulation of tube amps, I contributed the suggestion of having the controls go to eleven
  5:16pm
fred:

Speaking of memories, I'm positive this was earlier than 1989. I remember And Justice for All being released when I was in high school, and I graduated that in 1989
  5:17pm
green mountain man mark:

I suppose some people would think that the devil, not the sun, is what makes people sneeze. But maybe the sun houses the devil!? That might explain a lot of things.
  5:19pm
Dave in PA:

The Sun = Devil Capsule
  5:19pm
Cecile:

it is hot as hell there.
  5:22pm
Spencer:

One of my favorites: soundcloud.com/mistafro
you might like the song 'Shhhhh' at the bottom. On my way to see Down in NYC tonight!
  5:23pm
green mountain man mark:

Yes!! exactly. The sun makes some people sneeze because of the devil! But wait. Why only SOME people? Not everyone sneezes at the sun.
  5:24pm
Droll:

Where's Tipper Gore when you need her? The PMRC knew all about sex and satanism and which bands were responsible for which. They fought for better labeling so consumers knew which fetishes they would succumb to after (or during) listening.
  5:32pm
Rob Halford:

Why the hell would we insert subliminal commands in our music, killing our fans would be counterproductive. We would prefer to insert the command "Buy more of our records".
  5:35pm
fred:

Alas, I won't catch this show live for a couple of weeks: I'll be at gigs. I'm too addicted to live music to complain
Avatar 5:38pm
DJKG:

congrats on getting them lined up, fred. i know you were bemoaning the lack of.
  5:39pm
Caryn:

Hello all! Haven't commented earlier, because I was busy pondering the counterintuitive pronunciation of the name Dalziel.
  5:41pm
fred:

I was; summer is a dreadfully boring time in Paris.
Hey Caryn! Long time no see.
Avatar 5:41pm
DJKG:

hi caryn!
  5:41pm
Caryn:

Hi, Fred & Kurt!
  5:42pm
green mountain man mark:

yes
  5:49pm
Caryn:

Just changed channels only to see Shatner puttering around a garden, waving around a metal detector. WTH?
  5:50pm
green mountain man mark:

yes
  5:51pm
fred:

Shatner is the captain of WTH, don't even think of questioning his wisdom or lack thereof
  5:52pm
Caryn:

@fred: that's true. If you see Shatner doing something worthy of a WTH, in his world, it's just a regular Wednesday or something.
  5:54pm
northguineahills:

There are so many Derek Bailey recordings, and I just so happen to have this on.
  5:55pm
fred:

From what I heard around here, his latest record is redefining the standard in that department
  5:55pm
fred:

@NGH: I was referring to Shatner
  5:56pm
Carmichael:

Shatner is the new Chuck Norris.
  5:57pm
green mountain man mark:

I have gotten away with so much shit by saying yes, good, and especially the "oh, good!" thing I say a lot.
  5:57pm
fred:

@Carm: more like the Canadian Chuck Norris, how's that for cognitive dissonance?
  5:57pm
Caryn:

@Carmichael: if that's true, I demand that Norris record a string of spoken word/music albums, and Shatner star in the next Expendables sequel.
  5:58pm
green mountain man mark:

Oh, good! such a great show Kurt.
  5:58pm
fred:

@Caryn: Yes! to both ideas
  6:50pm
mossa bildner:

Thanks for playing Phil Gibbs, Kurt, you know a lot of people are going to be amazed when he comes to town for his 6 gig tour at end of October, and shows us what he can do with prepared guitar.
