I mentioned on his playlist last spring that my kid went to (has since graduated from) Bard, where they are resident, and he posted back that he was hoping to get them on his show come autumn. Really hoping some of that set will make it onto the FMA.

	10:47pm DavidD: Yes that is goodbye. But I also speak French and some German. The benefits of living in a small country with multiple official languages
	10:50pm Dave M.: Right. And in my experience people in the NL speak English as well as people in the US.
	10:57pm DavidD: English comes in through all the media. But i enjoy reading books in the original language so i pick up my vocabulary from there. The funny thing i observed is when you hear Dutch people speak English a lot of Dutch is used when they don't recall the English word. I think that must sound very foreign to a native speaker.
	11:05pm Dave M.: I've spent a lot of time in Amsterdam, and my funny story is this: I would walk up to someone on the street to ask directions, and I'd say, "Do you speak English?" And every time, they'd say, "Just a little." And then they'd speak perfect English.
