Avatar 12:21pm Joe B:

1-800-Band coming up live in a little bit! Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in! Thanks Bryan J and CP! Hi Mike and Heat!
  12:25pm Nanker de Tucson:

Loved the Ramblin' Man from Gramblin'
  12:29pm KP:

Should i call in sick?
  12:34pm Crom:

dear friend, please enjoy playing great music!
  12:35pm Crom:

Bad Ronald music = very good!
  12:38pm monica:

hey there, joe. steve sabol was indeed a very cool guy. visiting nfl films in mt. laurel and getting the grand tour by steve will definitely make my "highlight reel."
Avatar 12:39pm Joe B:

Hey Nanker! yes a great tune! KP, you can't be too careful. Hi Crom!
Avatar 12:40pm Joe B:

Hey Monica! great to hear from you! Your CD probably inspired this big box of the NFL Films music. Sabol seemed cool. definitely a visionary!
  12:44pm Crom:

Party starts now ...
  12:47pm KP:

I know it's silent but we can post about it. Joe has aready hit 8% and first hour is not over. Keep it going. Hit that white box.
Avatar 12:48pm Joe B:

KP, thanks for the reminder! we can talk about it here in the comments! Thanks to everyone who has pledged to this show or any show!
  12:49pm Mike East:

did not realize Pujol was pronounced with an "H" sounding "J". That's disgusting. I like their music, though.
Avatar 12:49pm Joe B:

Mike, I could be saying it wrong.
  12:54pm HEAT:

Any NY CAPITAL DISTRICT listeners?
  12:56pm ?:

I get a very Tom Petty/Heartbreakers vibe from these guys
  12:57pm HEAT:

yesssssssssss. this band is fantastic. ooooh. that guitar diddle
  12:58pm tim from champaign:

Digging the 1-800-Band. I bet they sound especially good about 3 beers in.

Did anyone make it to Gonerfest over the weekend? Looked pretty unhinged from the photos I saw.
  1:05pm Chapel Hillian:

I'm getting a Real Kids vibe from 1-800, and thats a reason to be cheerful
  1:05pm pierre:

Bonjour Joe !
et bon anniversaire again !

Really enjoying live sessions on WFMU !
  1:09pm Bryan D:

Hey Rob!!
  1:11pm efd:

That was a great set! Loved the '70s influence, though it's not surprising from the reincarnation of a band that used to cover Silverhead.
  1:19pm Mike East:

any more info on Earth Man Out?
Avatar 1:27pm Joe B:

Mike, his real name is Jim Webb! don't think it is that Jim Webb though
  1:30pm Mike East:

talk about ungoogleable...
I dug the sound...especially the mix on the drums
Avatar 1:32pm Joe B:

he lists earthmanout.com on the cd
  1:36pm HEAT:

I really liked the Earth Man Out song, too. Joe, you said it is off of a new album?
  1:37pm Mike East:

aha - cool. Thanks, Joe.
  1:39pm Robert:

Phil Spieler (or maybe it was Spieller) -- appropriate name, huh -- usually got the music credit for NFL Films. His was said to be a music prod'n firm out of Germany. There was also an Art Spieler who got another, non-music credit on NFL Films, and was said NOT to be related to Phil. I was in the bathroom so couldn't comment earlier.
  1:41pm dcpat:

this Roy Sudge tune rules!
  1:45pm John L:

Keep it loud; takes my mind off of a slow, rainy day. And silly discussions with customers.
  1:46pm SteveL:

I second John L's opinion. Working hard today, and loving the music.
Avatar 1:49pm Joe B:

Hi John and Steve, you got it!

hey dc pat!
  1:49pm dcpat:

Daddy Long Legs eh? nothing wrong with this.
Avatar 1:49pm Joe B:

thanks Robert. did not know that. not much info on here!
  1:49pm Caryn:

For the Earth Man Out fans, Joe B. played a demo of theirs on his Sept. 11 show, so check that out too.
  1:52pm Robert:

Found Phil Spieller here: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/phillip-spieller/6/97b/803 . No mention of a German firm, maybe the NFL contracted with that one at another time. Not clear exactly what his creative input has been, seems mostly a business guy now, but "I headed up the Music and Sound departments and mixed over 7000
films in my career at NFL Films", so apparently he was post-production on the music.
  1:52pm HEAT:

Thanks Caryn!
  1:56pm Robert:

Say, maybe Phil Spieller can help some of you with commercial aspirations market your already-recorded material.
  2:03pm tbm:

BWST!
  2:06pm the glowing one:

did Brian Wilson ever really had shock therapy?
  2:09pm KP:

Get Joe to 10%! By my careful calculations, the required donations would not be much.
  2:10pm KP:

This is very awesome.
  2:11pm Robert:

Just checked -- Tony Coulter's at 21%. No further comment.
  2:14pm Mike East:

@Robert - Joe's goal is much higher than Tony's.
  2:14pm John L:

I'm trippin'
  2:15pm John L:

And the answer to my math question was 666.
  2:22pm jljl:

Hey Joe, are the women's t-shirts being offered really a women's size and not a youth?
Avatar 2:23pm Joe B:

not sure jl. perhaps an email to joe mcg or liz b?
  2:27pm jljl:

Sorry, are those emails easily accessible? I don't see them on the Help section of the page.
  2:28pm jljl:

oh found it, thx
  2:36pm Nanker de Tucson:

Another great show today, JoeB!
Avatar 2:37pm Joe B:

thanks Nanker!
  2:41pm KP:

Twelve percent! Doing great, big finish now.
  2:46pm SteveL:

How can I not tune in to hear Gay Witch Abortion?! (If only to irritate my workmates!!)
  2:49pm KP:

Sounds like a fire-able offense.
  2:54pm dcpat:

were they saying Rock Crub?
  2:56pm KP:

Terrific show.
Avatar 2:57pm Joe B:
