loves these soundtrack comps of trailers such as 42nd Street Forever, if only the actual films were as good as their trailers!

yes, that's so true! I could watch trailers all night.

holy crap, from across the room i thought, is that the nostromo's siren from alien? and this iirc is from return of the living dead.
  12:07pm

one I always like is the guy coming out of the movie theatre, and has gone mental from the film he has just seen.

No argument there. I walked out of the theater watching the horrible remake.

Yeh Ric,
  12:15pm
THE INCREDIBLE BONGO FURY BAND:

Shawn of the dead is perhaps a more fitting tribute than the remake of the same name.
  12:16pm
listener james from westwood:

have any recent horror remakes exceeded or even equalled the originals? "the omen" kinda fell flat a few years back, and i didn't hear much about the "thing" remake.

you beat me to it, bongo; was gonna cite "shaun" as one of the better groundbreakers of the last 10 yrs.

worst remake is probably The Wicker man remake!

Hi northguineahills!
  12:19pm
Doug S.:

I live about 10 miles from the Monroeville Mall where "Dawn of the Dead" was filmed. The "town" of Monroeville is pretty just a series of strip malls along one multi-lane road. Creepy as hell.
Avatar 12:20pm
Ricardo Montalban:

I refuse to watch that! Wicker man is one of my all time favorite movies. My wife watched it and I had to walk through the living room with my fingers in my ears and my eyes closed like a four year old. (her words)
Avatar 12:20pm
Ricardo Montalban:

Cool! I'd love to see that Doug. Does that mall still exist?
  12:21pm
northguineahills:

Talking about scary, I was just cutting up some Scotch bonnet peppers, and even though I vigorously scrubbed my hands, I still feel the after effects after using the loo.
  12:21pm
THE INCREDIBLE BONGO FURY BAND:

yeh Carmaichael,
loved all 4 movies, the creepy tall guy, the flying ball blades,
the little munchkins with brain transplants that I seem to think were in a Neil Young Live concert film.
(I digress alot, must be my second brain!)
  12:22pm
northguineahills:

I'm w/ you Rich. Wicker Man is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I refuse to see the "remake".

i think wm. berger opens his show w the phantasm theme.

A place called "The Monroeville Mall" still exists. I don't know if it is exactly the same edifice as the site Romero used for the film.
