Kristi Stassinopoulou & Stathis Kalyviotis create intoxicating electro-folk-rock-psychedelia. Their music is inspired by demotika, the traditional music of rural Greece - the islands and the villages.
On Kristi's first four international cds the couple (with band) performed Kristi's poetic and magical original songs. Their new European-world-music-chart-topping duo cd Greekadelia (Riverboat) is a bit different: It's a covers project, a radical reworking of traditional demotika songs.
Today we'll meet Kristi and Stathis for an exclusive intimate unplugged session and interview, recorded with Rob at the studios of Greek National Radio station ERT 3 during the 2012 WOMEX world music conference in Thessaloniki.
