Guitarist/Vocalist Randy Bergida, after many years with Portland rockers Skidmore Fountain, moved to Brooklyn to form The Letter Yellow. It's an ode to the pleasures of NYC life, and The Letter Yellow plays some of it live on WFMU.

1mckrs:

Not to be pedantic, but Sandy was a big, but not exceptional storm, at least in terms of surge heights and wind speed. The difference was where it hit and that sea-level rise had laid the table, so to speak, for unprecedented destructive forces.
  2:31pm
seang:

then don't be pedantic
  2:36pm
1mckrs:

Indeed.

Oh, good call.

"Superstorm" just to me suggests that our goose isn't cooked already.

Irene:

Hey, I'm just saying' it was mighty bad in terms of how it hit us in the NY-NJ area. Any time a destructive storm hits labels don't really matter. Last year it was Hurricane Irene. Next year there will be another monster storm. We just need to pull together and help those we can.
  2:45pm
1mckrs:

And at least out here on eastern LI, we were also hit in Dec. 2010 by a bad one.
