Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from November 13, 2012 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

I just heard this ethnographic farce record a couple weeks ago. The beat-poet track is hilarious.
  3:14pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi kata!
Thanks for the rec--so it's actually a new parody, masquerading as a very old parody? The sound production was dead on 50s/60s on that last one!
  3:17pm
Cheri Pi:

Wow!!! Hi BT & the gang.
  3:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

Here, here! The gang's...partially here.

kata:

howdy MFS -- actually, looks like it isn't in BT's playlist. It's a Henry Jacobs record. One of my vinyl collector friends here had us over for drinks and we heard parts of it. Was made in the 60s or earlier. Pretty funny and cooky stuff.

Whoop, thanks for reminding me to add that! Discombobulated!

When all else fails WFMU can just use an old Yamaha sampler like this.
  4:29pm
Matt from Springfield:

@kham: Ah, so the Joe Belock music is just an old keyboard sample? :)
  4:30pm
Matt from Springfield:

And a Kathy McGinty BT Promo to boot!!
Along with Randall, you've gotten some pretty good "celebrity" endorsements!

Fish Eye:

You make a little mistake about Dva zagorodnyh doma/Post-Materialists split cassette. The track you have broadcasted written and performed by Post-Materialists, not Dva Zagorodnyh Doma
