Listener comments!

  12:04pm Cheri Pi:

Nice throw-back opening! Heya DK!
  12:23pm Andrew Waterloo:

enjoying this opening
Avatar 12:23pm kamikaze:

Hey All! The phones are still out for call-ins here at WFMU, so no guests this week! Thanks for tuning in, don't forget to pledge if it is at all possible for you to do so!
  12:25pm Cheri Pi:

this Wolfmangler track is badass,
  12:25pm SteveL:

Whirling Hall of Knives. That phrase was used by a good friend, describing the care-free attitude displayed by most one-year-olds. ie. "He would walk into a whirling hall of knives if you didn't stop him."
  12:27pm Cheri Pi:

Damn, so much good music. Is this new Hex Machine album out yet? I needs.
  12:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I believe Tom Scharpling took some calls on Tuesday night.
  12:38pm josh:

I'd love OM tickets!
  12:41pm Alexis:

The power is restored in most parts in Lower Manhattan. Why the Record Fair is still cancel...
  12:44pm SteveL:

Fear! (Don't you boys know any nice songs?)
  12:45pm ScottC:

I saw a short video on Spit Stix. He had been basically homeless and was staying at somebodies house and became a really good caregiver to the homeowners mother. Feeding cleaning etc... very sweet story.
  12:46pm BSI:

LECHEROUS GAZE is a name steeped in awesome.
Avatar 12:47pm kamikaze:

@Ken, thanks, I will check on that. @Alexis - where we have the record fair is booked every weekend until our next scheduled record fair. They couldn't reschedule us!
  12:49pm tim from champaign:

I agree with Diane about The Fear Record. Very confounding. As the song played, my thoughts were "Why? Hmmm...not bad. But what's the point? Not bad. Ving really didn't need to do a remake. But this part is interesting......."
  12:50pm Cheri Pi:

This show is already getting expensive.I can't wait for payday to make my donation to 'FMU and finally buy a record.
  12:50pm Cheri Pi:

Agreed BSI!
  12:50pm SteveL:

ScottC:Vid on Youtube? Interested in looking it up.

I had a punker friend who trashed an IHOP in Madison, WI with Fear. (NEVER put that many syrups on the table!)
  12:51pm SteveL:

Cheri Pi?
  12:51pm Cheri Pi:

  12:51pm laura:

Hooray! Weekly dose of Voivod!
  12:52pm Chris from DC:

Ah, back just in time for Voivod. Things are looking up.
  12:53pm ScottC:

@ SteveL just found it again... very cool story
  12:53pm Alexis:

Thanks Diane :)
Avatar 12:53pm kamikaze:

@ScottC- cool info. Years ago I was supposed to interview Fear/Lee after a Peppermint Lounge show. When I went backstage he reamed me out for being "media" and accused me of twisting his words (pre-interview, mindyou). Spit took me aside and gave me a great interview. It was a few years before I was on WFMU, so it aired on my carrier current college station. Spit and the other guys were mellow. Lee was pretty full of himself, or on drugs IMHO.
  12:59pm ScottC:

I worked as club security in SF back in the day and there was a really violent north/south California thing going on - lots of fights -and Lee Ving was persona non grata for a long time. Then I saw FEAR at the old I-Beam around 92' and all was forgiven by then...
  1:01pm SteveL:

ScottC: Thanks for the link. I'll make myself wait to watch after work.
  1:02pm dcp@:

  1:08pm dcp@:

(Let's Have A War is the ringtone on my phone for my drinking buddies..)
  1:12pm Cheri Pi:

YAY! Damn Diane, you're on FIRE!
  1:12pm dcp@:

killer set...
  1:13pm Chris from DC:

  1:13pm SteveL:

Cheri Pi is correct. Hell of a set.
  1:13pm laura:

Do the Nones also involve Arm?
  1:19pm Luna:

Hooray!!!!!!!! The Fun Machine is here!
  1:20pm Luna:

...and here I've been wasting the last hour+ streaming Maserati on youtoob.... I missed VOIVOD.
  1:21pm Andrew Waterloo:

I once saw a band comprised of a man dressed like a jungle hunter backing a singing ape. He called his keyboard the Fun Machine.
  1:38pm SteveL:

Need to revisit the WFMU Shaved Women live set from earlier this year. (My Castle of Quiet?)
  1:39pm Chris from DC:

Seriously, this is great.
  1:40pm jdelz:

diane, i saw you got a shout in the thank yous on the new dysrhytmia! great band!
  1:46pm Cheri Pi:

Damn, channeling Peter Murphy, likey!
Avatar 1:46pm kamikaze:

@jdelz, really? we only have a burn here, so I haven't seen any packaging. They are super guys and a great band, and they are fans of WFMU!
  1:49pm Luna:

Who the heck is Felix Kubin? Love this kinda stuff.
  1:52pm seang:

Kubin was on Ken's show a couple years back--electronic genius
  1:54pm dcp@:

anybody else in the mood for Tenpole Tudor suddenly? .....No?.....ok....
  1:55pm seang:

here's the Kubin show:

  1:55pm SteveL:

dcp@: I've got your back!
  1:55pm dcp@:

thanks SteveL..
  1:59pm SteveL:

Of course, that might lead to a Sparks set.
  2:01pm dcp@:

  2:06pm Cheri Pi:

I'm intrigued by a Sparks set,
  2:21pm SteveL:

How much metal-ly Sparks could there be?
  2:24pm Nostradamnation:

the hour is coming when their mettle/metal will be tested to the uttermost...
  2:26pm Cheri Pi:

The German Blaine on vox!
  2:37pm Cheri Pi:

You do love us you do!
  2:37pm SteveL:

Well, I'll be darned, danged and damned! Sparks FTW!

You have just earned another pledge (my fourth of this series) Coming tomorrow, after payday.
  2:38pm Cheri Pi:

My pledge is next week DK!
  2:39pm dcp@:

oh man, we skipped over Tenpole Tudor and went straight to Sparks....
  2:39pm SteveL:

Ask, and we shall receive. Gotta love great/no, EXCELLENT radio!

If you haven't pledged, reach deep for something. These folks have been through the wringer and are still delivering the goods!
  2:41pm SteveL:

dcp@: There is no God.
  2:42pm Tito "Bandito" Infidado:

Lets Start a Missle Attack at Midnight!
  2:45pm dcp@:

I thought the Penetrators were saying "She's a Flash site, oooooo!..."

  2:47pm Andrew Waterloo:

  2:49pm andymorphic:

best motorhead song
