fred:

Good morning Jay, good afternoon Yair
@Thomas: maybe it's just the label that's from France, it doesn't mean much: WFMU's own Nat Roe released something on a french label

Looks like Citizen UK were from Lancashire: http://www.boredteenagers.co.uk/pathitix.htm

I was surprised by how good that CD was. Making that software wasn't all that fun -- we were so late -- but it turned out to be worth it.

Thank you Bas for pledging! Man, so touched that you've supported me so many times but I hope we can hear from some other people. First time pledgers??? $15 is a great way to start. Love ya
  8:05am
Bas, NL:

Too true Thomas. Now is a time like never before to show some love for WFMU!
  8:06am
fred:

I just know that Bas is Dutch for "awesome"
  8:08am
Bas, NL:

@fred Interpretations might vary wildly.. but i'll take yours! Thanks my man!
  8:11am
fred:

@Bas: do you work in audio? I'm asking because I saw something at work about a "Bas" and that got me wondering, though the location seemed wrong
Avatar 8:12am
Thomas:

Yooow we got the balling rolling! Let's get one more from someone other than Bas? Not lookin at those of ya who've already gave, of course
  8:16am
Bas, NL:

@fred: I do loads of vintage synth repairs and alike. But Bas is a common name here, so...
  8:16am
fred:

I wish I could pledge some more, but I'm already way over what I planned to give. Hopefully there are other European listeners out there who can pick up the slack
  8:18am
fred:

@Bas: probably another one then, he was doing research in Rotterdam
  8:25am
fred:

I'm neither brave nor in Kim Gordon's family, but I gotta run. Bye until next week Thomas

Amazing to hear the Mystery Girls after all this time. Saw them once and couldn't get their stuff out of my head for days. Love it love it love it.
  5:43am
Craig:

Mystery Girls had their one and only gig in Brigg supporting the mighty Product of Reason, May 1980. I was there :)

Now PoR were a cracking combo. Their track 1 / side 1 on Household Shocks is a stormer.

joe:

WIGGINS!!! YES!
  8:51am
Pip:

The album featuring the Mystery Girls is reviewed on the net and described as the best example of British post-punk music. I believe the Mystery Girls morphed into Can Can Rouge but can't find anything of theirs on the net.
  5:45am
CottinghamColin:

Amazed to find reference to the incredible Household Shocks LP here. The Mystery Girls were a noisy New York Dolls lite so why they sound so fragile and poppy on this on this album I dunno but Product of Reason were the real stars anyway and people should look them up on the net.
  5:50am
Serifa:

The Goslings. Oh joy. Great surprise. Love these archives to bits.
