it is that time of year again, when the world ends.
  3:15pm

This track is a great background to BT's After the End of the World
  3:18pm

Hiya Kurt. Be right back. Don't play anything good.

Dear Thom, In the game of life we are all winners.
  3:26pm
green mountain man mark:

I may bring the speakers out into the garage. Now that it is looking more and more as the day goes that there will be no apocalypse I can finish the chicken pen I started making. It is for two roosters I have. They are currently living in a smaller shelf like cage. They eat bananas and spaghetti.
  3:29pm
fred:

@green mountain man mark: do roosters sneeze?
  3:30pm
steve:

what are the roosters names? just curious
  3:33pm
green mountain man mark:

roosters crow when they look at the sun. have not heard them sneeze. They don't have names but I bet Bert and Ernie might be a good fit.
  3:35pm
Mike East:

I say either way, we should break out the booze and have a ball.
  3:36pm
G:

This Peggy Lee was one of my first steps toward FMU. So much pop on AM top 40 was simple. And this was so complicated conceptually and emotionally for a sheltered ten year old.
  3:37pm
steve:

#firstworldproblems
  3:38pm
G:

#thirdworldproblems too. i've lived there.
  3:38pm
William:

This show is great.
  3:39pm
BSI:

What the hell ever happened to the Second World?
  3:40pm
G:

Today is the first day of the rest of your non-apocalypse.

Till the next dopey popculture apockaloops obsession.
  3:40pm
bryce:

that's where the Type III cassette factories are
  3:41pm
G:

It became thirdworld. remember the USSR and "eastern" europe? :-) ok, since 1989 some of it is moving toward first-world status, e.g., east germany and poland
  3:43pm
northguineahills:

Curious beats for Woody...
  3:45pm
fred:

@green mountain man mark: I did sneeze a few times when someone came into my office and turned on the light, but usually I don't. I hadn't even noticed before you told about your project. Not sure how I would react to your box
  3:48pm
DCE:

was actually sleeping at my desk there before that horn intro...I took one little muscle relaxer after breakfast and all day I'm a mess
  3:48pm
Muscles:

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...
  3:49pm
hamburger:

ou this is the perfect song for a apocalyptic movie
  3:52pm
green mountain man mark:

wouldn't it be tomorrow anyway that the end would come? If the Mayan calendar had the last day of 12/21/2012 that would mean today would be fine and then on the 22nd there would be no world left.
  3:54pm
Cheri Pi:

play it olay it!!
  3:54pm
DCE:

great scott, what goes on here?
  3:55pm
Cheri Pi:

Sing it Terry!!!
  3:56pm
Honey Water:

There's a musical bit in this sounding like Talking Heads' "Watch Out You Might Get What You're After."
  3:57pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Heads up folks! The earth has just crumbled away up to a few blocks down the street from me! Endless space a block after a Subway Sandwich shop! Its falling away from the west to east! I am taping open umbrellas to the side of my house!
  3:58pm
steve:

not Subway!!
  4:02pm
Minnesota Jeff:

Subway is fine for right now, the clerk is throwing fully made Subs out the front door, "Eat them while you can!" People arguing over the toppings and he's having to shove them away from the door. Its madness! No one is parking properly!
  4:05pm
steve:

noooooooo
  4:05pm
Honey Water:

Burning Down the House -- not the Subway -- that is.
  4:06pm
steve:

they're stealing the tire fire!
  4:13pm
hamburger:

some thing is happening to the machine
  4:14pm
green mountain man mark:

In Vermont there are strong wind gusts that are knocking out power lines and trees. Now it is raining and will turn to freezing rain later. But this is something that would occur anyway this time of year. I don't believe this is end of the world related.
  4:16pm
Mike East:

we got that wind last night, mark. That's why I woke up with the beegees Wind of Change in my head. I was also nervous about the large branches falling on the roof again.
  4:18pm
Honey Water:

We had a mighty wind here overnight, too, Knocked off our birdfeeder and blew over an outdoor storage cabinet. Did sort of feel like the beginning of the end of the world.
  4:19pm
green mountain man mark:

My favorite thing when there are wind gusts is seeing the cats perk up with big eyes looking around as the house creaks and the windows make that ghost noise.
  4:21pm
Honey Water:

Aw, I miss having cats....
  4:25pm
northguineahills:

That reminds me, I need to go bring the neighbor's cat over to my flat.
  4:27pm
DCE:

I just want to crawl into bed
  4:29pm
fred:

@DJKG: does the lack of artist name means this collage is your doing?
  4:30pm
Honey Water:

@NGH: Will it be OK with this music? I recall you say it has certain sensitivities, though this sounds mild enough,
  4:31pm
northguineahills:

@HW: Let me go find out.
  4:31pm
green mountain man mark:

fat cat in a flat hat chasing that rat with a ? bat
  4:35pm
northguineahills:

report: cat is really freaked out by the music, won't set foot in my studio.
  4:38pm
Honey Water:

That's odd. Wonder if something else is freaking it out.
  4:39pm
phat:

Ok, this has been so great.
  4:41pm
fred:

DSP! then Foot Village, two great live bands I'd love to see again...
  4:42pm
northguineahills:

There is also noisy renovation of the flat downstairs. The cat has now entered my studio, but probably b/c I'm sitting here, and it won't leave my ankles.
  4:43pm
Honey Water:

Give her a scritch from me.
  4:44pm
northguineahills:

It's a he, and I'm good w/ cat massages, and dogs as well, and usually humans.
  4:47pm
GOD:

ye people of Somerset--repent!
  4:49pm
Honey Water:

I had a "have massage table will travel" business for a short while when I lived in Vermont.
  4:52pm
Cecile:

I was hoping to hear this song.
  4:52pm
Carmichael:

OK, that took longer than I thought. Had to drive all the way around the apocalypse, then take side roads to the main sewer line. Clash!!
  5:07pm
Honey Water:

You can't take it with you after all. So all the "stuff" is merely being shuffled around to where it will see its final resting place. No harm, no foul -- or no fowl, in GMMM's case.
  5:09pm
Honey Water:

That was fun, Kurt.

I hear a sad teenager.

Hope you're stroking and calming the cat, ngh.

Cecile:

Do you have "the allure of the earth" by Woods of Ypres, Kurt?
Avatar 5:34pm
DJKG:

don't know that one, c
  5:35pm
Cecile:

It's pretty great lo-fi black metal.
  5:38pm
Carmichael:

Tom's up to his usual vocal standards, I see.
  5:39pm
Honey Water:

Loved Tom since the first time I heard him.
  5:39pm
Mike East:

That's it, I'm leavin' early cuz its slow and I can. Merry holiday everybody.

oh shit! Thank you thank you thank you for playing the beegees! I will stick around another five minutes
  5:40pm

I just got back from the Gansevoort apocalypse party and boy is my foot killing me... Great XTC tune thanks, wonderful show DJKG!
  5:44pm
Honey Water:

And XTC does for me what Bee Gees do for you, Bridget!
  5:50pm
Honey Water:

Did anyone record an Apocalypso -- like Day-O, Day-O apocalypse come and me wanna go home.
  5:54pm
Johnny Bigfoot:

The Nails wrote an apocalyptic be-bop type tune - "Home of the Brave" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIqSdmWUtrY

Carmichael:

Happy holidays, DJKG and non-acronymized people.
  5:58pm

Thanks and Happy New Year, DJKG!
