Listener comments!

  9:15am
Woo:

Merry Christmas Todd! Thanks for being there today.
  9:17am
G:

Wow, Toddmenters! :)

Busy working online for 2-3 hours here, so I have 2-3 days free for socializing and travel...
  9:17am
I X Key!:

Good morning! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thanks for the show, Todd-o-phonic Todd!
  9:17am
Adrian in London:

Hey Todd. Loving this music to do the washing up by.
  9:30am
Woo:

Monkee back to back? Riu Chiu?
  9:47am
G:

Thanks for continuing the FMU non-monoculture Christmas programming. So much less oppressive than the same-old same old we can't miss in the backs of cars, in the shopping malls. (Yes, threw Rush in there, what the heck.)
  9:52am
Philo Gristle:

Sounds like you're ready, great show today! Merry Merry!
  9:54am
kat330:

Turkey in the oven and ready to roll! Hi, Todd, Woo, G, I X Key and Adrian!
  9:55am
Artie:

Thanks Todd!!

Tod B On Air!! WHOOOOOOOOOO
  9:57am
G:

Gotta go to institutional type brunch food at my parents' retirement community in an hour :-( I'll live! :-) The coffee there is better than the rents' bitter and tasteless percolator coffee, as long as I dump enough half-and-half in the brunch coffeee I mean. :-) Missing my burr grinder ...
  9:59am
kat330:

@G: But that's very good of you. Some sons wouldn't do that.
  10:03am
G:

@kat330: Was raised to be obedient Catholic. Grew out of that long ago, but can still run the script for little while. :-) Dad's got a year or two left (he's had cancer since 1991!), gotta be nice.
  10:06am
Philo Gristle:

My dad's 5000 miles away, so it's easier to say no to visits (once every decade seems like) but keep in touch via phone or skype on a monthly basis.
  10:08am
kat330:

Lost my parents in 2009-2010 less than a year apart, so Christmas has been very different the past three years, especially if we stay in Knob Knee over the holidays.
  10:09am
kat330:

@Philo: But your dad is the coolest!
  10:09am
EV Grrrl & the Soul Stalker:

We're enjoying your holiday show, Todd!
  10:11am
G:

Since his health got worse again recently, I've been down to Maryland (210 miles each way) 4-6 times a year. Good practice driving, but I try to pick the less congested days and times to drive, if possible (drove down between 7 and 11 Sunday morning, this time.)
  10:15am
longtimelistenergga:

@G: Isn't wfmu being a life saver!
  10:22am
Philo Gristle:

Love Huey! Oddly haven't yet heard the Ramones' "Merry Christmas" yet this year...
  10:25am
G:

@longtime: When trapped being nice with the rents, it decreases the "trapped" sensation :-)
  10:28am
Dave in PA:

  10:29am
Johnny Bigfoot:

Yeah, that Ramones tune hits very close to home!
  10:30am
kat330:

@G: Do they even know you're listening, or is it a hidden earbud?

We had an interesting Xmas Eve -- maybe a new tradition -- watching Chaplin's "The Great Dictator." First thought it was an odd choice of Philo's, but that final speech CC delivers -- man, oh, man, just fine for the season of peace.

  10:33am
Philo Gristle:

Thanks Johnny -- remember that video from a vhs compilation I used to have! Of course have the LP and could play it myself, but it's a rare Xmas I don't hear it on the radio.
  10:34am
kat330:

@Philo: Amanda played it in the middle of the night according to my search.

  10:45am
Detroit Mac:

God Bless you Kirsty MacColl
  10:47am
trouble:

good morning todd o phonic! sounds fabuloso!
  10:48am
Neil:

Now, finally, a little equal time! And remember, we came first.
  10:51am
kat330:

@trouble: Yes, he's doing you proud! Hope you're having a lovely morning.
  10:51am
fred von helsing:

Just keep'em comin', it's Christmas at the Oasis :)
  10:52am
G:

@kat: If I am in a bedroom working (on the computer), the music is on. If I am in the room with them, it isn't...
  10:54am
kat330:

Anyone on board having snow? It's been threatened here, but so far just grey.
  10:55am
fred von helsing:

Helsinki was getting whomped for a while. It's beginning to look a lot like Buff-lo.
  10:56am
RCinMT:

Snowed here just last night. Sure it's Montana, but close to being a brown Christmas.
  10:56am
Irene:

We had a little in NJ last night but it's all gone. At least I got to see Santa riding the Colonia, NJ firetruck as the snow fell!

Great show, Todd! Just what I needed this morning.
  10:56am
kat330:

@fred: Oh, right, of course! :) Philo's dad called this morning to report the snow and all things weather related.
  10:57am
kat330:

Hey, Irene! Hope you're having a restful, lovely morning!
  10:57am
Surfsider Sam and Justina:

Happy Holidays, Todd!
  10:59am
SIDave:

Thanks for a great show! Happy Holidays!
  11:01am
kat330:

We heard that Bonnie version of "Christmas Eve Can Kill You" on our local public station this a.m. For geographical reasons, he's a fave around here.
  11:04am
Irene:

I sure am Kat (and everybody)! Hope you're having a great day too. So glad we have Todd to give us a good soundtrack to start the day. My poor husband has to work today, so I'm gearing up to make a big turkey dinner for him.
  11:04am
Woo:

In Chicago we had the longest stretch ever without snow. Then we got a tenth of an inch. Which melted. The grass is green this Christmas. Looking forward to 85 degrees in March like last year.
  11:05am
Irene:

Hey Todd! You always pull out the the best rockin' records for these occasions. Happy Krimble and a Veddy Gear Year to you!!
  11:06am
fred von helsing:

Dear Santa, I want my very own Multiple Launch Rocket System to scare the neighbor's dog.
  11:06am
kat330:

@Irene: Our turkey's in the oven, dutifully rotated every half hour. Should be ready at high noon.
  11:07am
Philo Gristle:

@Irene Gladly I don't have to work, and kat is still making a big turkey dinner for us (she wisely keeps me out of the kitchen unless I can just hold or lift something).
  11:08am
kat330:

@Woo: Really? Somehow I thought you folks got blasted, but guess you were just south of that storm. My first winter when I lived in Chicago, there was a big ice/snowstorm on Oct. 13th when the trees still had leaves. Lots of damage.
  11:10am
kat330:

Lovin' this surf set, Todd!
  11:11am
Woo:

@kat330: Yes, we were spared. Some folks are moaning about no snow but these are the folks usually who do not have shoveling duty.
  11:11am
Irene:

@kat &Philo: Wow, an early dinner. Since Peter's not home till about 8, I've got some time to laze about. Our 5 kitties know something's up, and their bellies will be full of turkey later too.
  11:11am
fred von helsing:

Amen, surfin' Santa !
  11:13am
kat330:

Five?! I knew you had cats, but not the number. Our good friends in Manhattan have about 4-5 cats -- the number seems to change every other year.
  11:15am
G:

It snows near Baltimore yesterday afternoon, maybe an inch...
  11:16am
Philo Gristle:

We only have our neighbors' and neighborhood wildlife here (no pets allowed --otherwise we'd have a cat or two), but that includes cats, dogs, bunnies, birds and squirrels, all of which we purposefully and not so purposefully feed.
  11:18am
Philo Gristle:

Great Yosemite Christmas photo on Astronomy Picture of the Day today: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/
  11:25am
Frankie Balls:

Hey y'all Merry Christmas to all fellow aging punksters in radioland from deepest Queens. Luv yer gutz Mr.O'phonic. Happy freakin New Year!!
  11:28am
Irene:

@kat: We kept it to two kitties for a long time until three years ago. We went to visit friends over New Year's and returned to find my cat sitter had died. Wanting to do the right thing, and having a large apartment (Peter's childhood home), we took in her three kitties. They're a handful but we totally love them.
  11:29am
fred von helsing:

Book'im, Danno !
  11:31am
Philo Gristle:

@Irene kat's in the kitchen listening, so off the keyboard. We're both longtime cat people, but since kat's Shelley passed away 12 years ago we haven't had one with us. Except the friendly neighborhood kitties.
  11:40am
Philo Gristle:

Kat's post with photos of her cats: http://bit.ly/WO8laS
  11:49am
Philo Gristle:

I'm off to help in the kitchen, so good eats and Merry Christmas to everyone from kat & I. Terrific show, Todd!
  11:53am
Irene:

@kat&Philo: My kitties are on Facebook's "Catbook" but I can't figure out how to post a link. Anyhoo, Kitties Rule! Enjoy your Christmas dinner.
  11:59am
Philo Gristle:

Thanks Irene, found 'em and showed to kat! Fellini likes xmas wrapping! Turkey cooking slower than expected, but smells like xmas.
