Hey, Therese.

Therese:

Hey KP!
  12:08am
Matt from Springfield:

Love the Memory Tapes! El Perro del Mar before that was great too.

And to quote Big Dipper before that: HAPPY NEW YEAR Therese! And KP and everyone!
Avatar 12:09am
Therese:

Hello Matt! Happy New Year to you as well!
  12:15am
KP:

That's right, Happy New Year back!
  12:18am
Matt from Springfield:

Muccapazzesque music! That is a word now, right?
  12:21am
amEdeo:

That dude has a trout for a face!
  12:23am
Matt from Springfield:

A replica, anyways. Evening, amEdeo!
  12:26am
KP:

He has a haddock.
  12:26am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I've always thought the songs on Trout Mask Replica sound like the Magic Band is playing a different song from the one that the Captain is singing.
  12:27am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Or maybe I'm not on the right drugs.
  12:28am
amEdeo:

BGZ: Talk to your doctor about that!
  12:28am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

You're voice does sound a wee bit scratchy.
  12:32am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I'm surprised I'm not sick. I attended my nephew's Angry Birds-themed birthday party a few days ago. We went to one of those places that has bowling, laser tag, video games, air hockey and other assorted games of skill. That place was full of kids hopped-up on cake and ice cream. Seems like being around that many kids guarantees an illness. But so far I'm in the clear.
  12:34am
Matt from Springfield:

The flu is biting back hard right now. Sanitize often!
  12:35am
KP:

Wow I was just checking a list if top punk/NW guitaristS. This zooms to apex.
  12:37am
KP:

Hey BGZ. Kind of hopped up here on Irish tea.
Avatar 12:38am
Therese:

Those places are LOUSY with pathogens, BGZ! Take care of yourself...
  12:40am
Ken From Hyde Park:

My theory is exposure to more germs keeps your immune system in top shape. There's a George Carlin bit about how, as a kid, he'd go swimming with his buddies in the nasty river water.
  12:44am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I seem to recall the results of a study being released several years ago that people were getting sick more frequently and traced the cause to the increased use of antibacterial soap, wipes, etc.
  12:45am
Matt from Springfield:

@Ken: Germ immersion can thus be helpful, but airborne pathogens seldom are.

It's been theorized that exposure to animal dung as a child, by contrast, helps prevent the development of allergies. (Those who grow up on farms are less likely than 'burban/cityfolk.)
  12:47am
(mta) Tony:

Re: Ken: I think the phrase is, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
  12:47am
Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: We're just leaving behind the strongest germs that way!!
  12:48am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

If you ever find yourself needing conversational material with an eleven-year-old boy ask him why the birds are so angry. Then kick back and take it easy for the next 30 minutes.
  12:48am
Matt from Springfield:

That's true, mta Tony.

And btw: HEY mta Tony! Always a pleasure to see you 'round.
  12:50am
(mta) Tony:

Thanx, Matt, and happy holidaze to all. I've been keeping quiet but always listening, my friend. Best to all in 2013.
Avatar 12:50am
Therese:

Yeah, what do those birds have to be angry about?
  12:52am
Matt from Springfield:

Indeed, the best to all this year!
  12:53am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Apparently it has something to do with the pigs stealing their eggs.

Personally I think it's because they have to dress up as Star Wars characters. Yes, Star Wars Angry Birds is a very real thing.
Avatar 12:55am
Therese:

Oh, I have a 9-year old nephew. I am familiar with Star Wars Angry Birds.
  12:56am
tinkle bear:

glitter wizard = camper van beethoven does sabbath!
  12:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I was hoping it was Electric Wizard playing Gary Glitter tunes.
  1:02am
KP:

I am listening on archive.
  1:04am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh YAY! Keili! And Todd-o-Phonic!

@KP: What's the weather like now (future now)?
  1:06am
Matt from Springfield:

In addition to having a house band, all DJs deserve to have a group of dancers. On the radio.

And Mike VL! Woohoo!
  1:08am
KP:

It's only Thursday. Slushy at 4:45 in Jersey City, waiting for shuttle bus to get going.
  1:11am
tinkle bear:

@bgz high hopes!
  1:13am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I could maybe be a dancer on-call.
  1:18am
KP:

Bill Mac was going to dance but broke his ankle.
  1:20am
KP:

Awesome guitar. Great for secret project
Avatar 1:22am

Luckily, Bill Mac had Knuckles the Dog with him. He helps people.

Niwt Skaep morf si siht, ho!
  1:36am

  1:39am
KP:

Oh man ...
  1:40am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Maybe David Bowie will return in Twin Peaks season three.
  1:45am
KP:

How weird was it to see David Lynch on tv hosting a big name benefit for TM. No matter how much he meditates he'll never come to peace with the Eraserhead baby.
  1:46am
RCinMT:

I'ld like to be optomistic, but the movie sequel "fire walk with me was awful, as was "Inland Empire". loved "mullholland drive" though. Whatever, I would watch a new series, boundto be something effing weird to blow my mind. When last we left, Special agent Dal;e S. cooper was looking in a mirror and saw Bob in the reflection. Imagine the new season would be him trying to escape the room and stop anymore mayhem by Bob.
  1:47am
KP:

Therese, you play such classy country.
  1:51am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Bliss Blood! Last thing I heard by her was a track she did with the Melvins twelve/thirteen years ago.
Avatar 1:54am
Therese:

She is a fellow Texan, I believe?
  1:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

She used to live in Houston; she now lives in New York. She was in a band called Pain Teens in the early-to-mid 90s. I once saw them on a bill in between Brutal Truth and Boredoms!
  2:02am
KP:

It is a great shot of Wanda Jackson on that Capitol Rarities cover.
  2:02am
Mark from Bloomfield:

Great show Therese, you rock!!!!
Avatar 2:06am
Therese:

I remember the Pain Teens- I might have seen them with Brutal Truth around the same time!
Avatar 2:07am
Therese:

Thank you Mark!
Avatar 2:11am
Therese:

RC, I agree. "Fire Walk With Me" was Not Good.
  2:11am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Black Joe Lewis!

[another Texan]
  2:15am
Mark from Bloomfield:

Holy crap is this the guy from Aphrodite's Child?!?!
  2:16am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I knew the guys that created the Twin Peaks fanzine "Wrapped In Plastic." They often talked about this [mythological?] 4+ hour cut of "Fire Walk With Me" that contained an hour that focused on what happened to Phillip Jeffries [David Bowie's character].
Avatar 2:16am
Therese:

It is indeed, Mark.
  2:18am
Mark from Bloomfield:

wow and I thought you rocked before!
  2:22am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Never underestimate the tremendousness of Therese!
  2:25am

Avatar 2:29am
Therese:

YES! AmEdeo OWNED that dance floor!
  2:41am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Maybe a third season of Twin Peaks would inspire Lars Von Trier to get to work on the next batch of The Kingdom episodes.
  2:42am
KP:

What is the kingdom?
  2:45am
KP:

Breaking the Waves in a hospital?
  2:46am
amEdeo:

Thanks!!!!! It was a lot of fun and you two were fantastic! EVERYTHING IS GREAT!
  2:47am
amEdeo:

(except the Stephen King-helmed remake of The Kingdom starring Andrew McCarthy)
  2:48am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The Kingdom was this fantastic Danish mini-series created and directed by Lars Von Trier. There are two series each containing four episodes. It's like Twin Peaks meets ER meets The X-Files. I'm not a fan of Von Trier's work but I absolutely love The Kingdom.
  2:50am
KP:

I'll check in. only know of him from Breaking the Waves.
Avatar 2:51am
Therese:

According to the New Yorker, Danish TV is all the rage in the UK
  2:54am
KP:

During blackout, we watched Danish TV political series Borgen on a laptop we charged by day at Starbucks. Mrs. KP got the discs at work. It was tremendous and took mind of cold and rest of situation.
  2:57am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Has Danish TV made an appearance on the New Yorker's "Approval Matrix?"
  2:58am
KP:

it's not giving away too much to say it was about first woman PM of denmark.
  2:58am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

My money is on a 17-minute handover.
  2:59am
KP:

Thanks, Therese. Going to look u a few up of these titles from tonight.
  2:59am
Julie:

yikes
  2:59am
KP:

When does the board hand over, BGZ?
  3:00am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I hope you're feeling better soon, Therese. Take care of yourself. I'll see you here next week!
  3:02am
KP:

There's my answer.
