The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

Always heard Thunder Bay is the trailer park of Ontario, but w/ Manitoba next door, and Saskatchewan over yonder, i'd suppose it's like South Jersey Pine Barrens to the Appalachia where I was born, and FL where I grew up.

Philo Gristle:

Finnish cuisine of my youth was mashed potatoes and meatballs. Though mom used to make a dish called bird's nest, which was ground beef surrounding a boiled egg wrapped in bacon. And potato salad with chunks of edam cheese and apples.

Avatar 6:22pm
Caryn:

@PG: well, I think it is. Excellent acting, plenty of bizarreness, wry humour,... Even if the very end is kinda blah. But all the way to the very end, I'd say yes. Of course, it is a series that is bound to divide opinions (except for the Joe Strummer music, which I think everyone universally loves).
Avatar 6:22pm
kat330:

Ooh, Burmese. Had a restless night last night wracking my brain to think of Mission of Burma's "That's When I Reach..." because Jason Sigal had played a Black Future track yesterday afternoon with a reminiscent bass line (I finally posted to his archive about it).

@Caryn Thanks! The fact that it was canceled only bothers me in that the ending might be... not an ending. But then again, I love the idea of the Sopranos' ending (never saw an episode). But surfing and astral travel...? Sign me up!

"Why am I on the Air?" the permanent question, never to be answered here.. :)
Beatle Barkers!! I would actually LOVE that as hold music! :D
Avatar 6:29pm
Caryn:

@PG: I think it's also a series that you notice new things about every time you see it. Like repeated lines, images, and moves. Rewatch it about 4-6 times a year. The ending clearly ends the story being told, so no worries there. There were just things about the end that made me consider it a letdown in comparison to the rest of the series.

@Matt: To answer your earlier question "depending on what else you'd use the YLT tix money on" (or words to that effect): Just saw footage of the Sandy victims suffering through this bitter cold weather still in tents. :/ THAT would be one use of budget funds.

Andy is in fact 100% healthy. It's his career that was too sick to be at the station. No one wanted to risk exposing the staff to *those* cooties!

this reminds me of that 7SD episode where Andy & Ken take turns to keep a person on the line using only 1 minute (?) of speech, whilst the other tries to make them hang up...
Avatar 6:47pm

Despite the undeniable fact that chopped up eggplant in marinara LOOKS like mushrooms, I'm delighted to report it tastes nothing like it. Yum.

Avatar 6:49pm

@kat: I can live with someone else seeing a YLT show instead of donating to relief. But could YOU yourself? Once again, referred back to you on the basis of your own feelings and morals, no one else can determine that.

On the other hand, what's the charity? I could donate on your behalf :)

@hamburger: Exactly! I keep telling Philo we COULD go vegetarian if only he'd eat mushrooms. I mean, they're like eating, um, hamburger!
Avatar 6:57pm
Matt from Springfield:

@kat: 'sno problem at all! :) There are very many charities worthy of time, money and service, more than the typical individual could contribute alone. I'd be happy to focus one of my donations towards that, if it gave you the sense that you're not leaving people behind.

So as I said, consider carefully on this never-ending philosophy exam :)
Avatar 6:57pm

@hamburger: the only place that have made eggplant that I've liked is a tiny restaurant in the middle of Crete. Otherwise: yecch. Likewise: pumpkin, squash, olives, capers, chili and zucchini.
