Good show!
  12:35pm SteveL:

Joe B (not to mention Trouble) is good for what ails me and my back today. That, and an unexpected liquor tasting at work. Life could be worse.

Hiya Joe! Ya rocking the jungle this morning through the rainstorms. Good stuff, hello fellow listeners!
Avatar 12:37pm Joe Belock:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm tim from champaign:

There's always Coney Island Baby. Lou sings about wanting to play football for Coach.

That Sweet Talk tune sounded a bit like the Ducks Deluxe tune "Fireball"...

Man, I can't wait for the new Dirtbombs album! I saw that there's also a vinyl comp of cuts off of If You Don't Already Have a Look that never made it on wax.
Avatar 12:44pm Parq:

Oh man, that was the Dirtbombs? Not a sound I associate with them -- no doubt because I don't know their stuff as well as I should.
Avatar 12:45pm Joe B:

MissV, still in JC. I think we will be last to go! at least I hope that is the case!
Avatar 12:46pm Joe Belock:

Hey Tim, really? wow, will have ot look into that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, Joe. It's coming out this week or next week on Cass records. I saw it listed through Midheaven Mailorder.
  12:53pm ice in bklyn:

I think I've fist pumped and sang the chorus to every song in the 2nd set so far..
Avatar 1:01pm Parq:

Love this Redd Kross. Listen to those guitars chime!
  1:02pm seang:

  1:02pm John L.:

Winter Blues indeed. Although today is practically Spring like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm eyenoise:

Mollusk cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm eyenoise:

Oops I don't know why that posted twice.
Avatar 1:16pm kat330:

And another one.

Hi, Joe!
Avatar 1:17pm Joe B:

Hi Kat!

Eyenoise, not sure about the comp. Tim's post here was the first I heard about it!
  1:17pm John L.:

The show was great!!! Never saw Yung Wu before. Great mix of originals and covers. The Stalkers are playing at the same place, BSP in Kingston, as part of a Jonathan Toubin Soul Clap. Feb 9.
Avatar 1:18pm kat330:

I wasn't quite myself at first the (re: Big Star cover. ;)
Avatar 1:25pm kat330:

Trifecta of covers!
Avatar 1:25pm PKNY:

That Moving Sidewalks was *so* facemelting!
Avatar 1:26pm kat330:

March 30th? That's a great date.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Rob (from Mt Hope):

Hey Joe
Avatar 1:32pm kat330:

Gol-lee, I love that fierce bunny, Rob. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Rob (from Mt Hope):

Rabid rabbit. Just to be different
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Woo:

How do you alphabetize the 1-800 Band?
  1:42pm Dan Eletxro:

Bama on the BEE-lock! cheers, Joe!
  1:44pm phat:

Is that new Wyldlife actually out yet? I want a copy of it. Do they have a label?
Avatar 1:48pm Joe Belock:

Hi Phat! not out yet, end of March I think
Avatar 1:48pm Joe Belock:

Hi Dan! Bama boys will be here in person next week!
Avatar 1:49pm Joe Belock:

Woo, it is as if the numbers are spelled out, so filed under ONEEI
Avatar 1:49pm Joe Belock:

Hi Rob!

Kat, March 30 is your birthday?
  1:49pm X Ray Cat:

That last Curtis Mayfield track was horrible... damn
Avatar 1:50pm Joe Belock:

disagree. great song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm G:

It's hamburger heaven when Joe gets to commenting :)

Add a + for Mayfield...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Stevel:

Pretty sure there needs to be a Stepping Stone cover comp. ala Louie Louie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Mike East:

Yeah, I'm with Joe on this one. Dirty Laundry gets a star.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm G:

@Woo: There are two common methods for alphabetizing numbers. One is to put them in numerical order 0-9, either at the start or end of the actual alpha listing. The other is catalgoue them as if the number is spelled out (one). I'm sure the station long ago decided on a system and stuck with it, or no one would ever find anything! Which probably happens some anyhow :)
Avatar 1:57pm Joe B:

that said, dissenting opinions welcome as well.
  2:00pm frenchee:

Oh Gaylord would approve of your copy editor notation--and so do I.
  2:02pm dave:

Great selections!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm braveness23:

Oh dear, this is the second afternoon in a row where I have fallen asleep at my desk while I was working.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm DCE:

B23, use scotch tape to keep your eyes open if needed
Avatar 2:07pm kat330:

Or paint open eyes on your closed eyelids.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm braveness23:

I'm not familiar with that trick. What I need is a nap. I'm installing updates on servers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm tim from champaign:

Dug the Games. I'm a big fan of the Busy Signals and Carbonas. The new sound makes sense. Playing pop songs at the speed limit instead of warp speed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Andrew Waterloo:

I am dangerously close to desk snooze
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm DCE:

you can also skip the tape and just use scotch
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm braveness23:

When I update servers in the evening I definitely use that technique
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm braveness23:

I like the guitar/bass line here on Borrowed Thyme a lot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm braveness23:

errr... I guess that was on Natural Child D.T.V. (edit), not Borrowed Thyme
Avatar 2:15pm Joe B:

wow, falling asleep - a scathing indictment on the programming!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm efd:

Current Games lineup also includes a couple of Gentleman Jesse's men - the live set is great! (It was recorded on Sunday.) Thanks for the plugola, Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Andrew Waterloo:

@Joe... thing of us as being sent on a pleasant journey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm braveness23:

Sorry Joe, don't take it personally. Not your fault that I don't have the good sense to go to sleep earlier. If I had to blame WFMU at all I would blame the removal of the math problems when posting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Stevel:

This set is keeping ME awake!

Damn kids and their crazy "music".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm DCE:

usually it's the post-lunch digestion phase that causes the lull in brain activity, despite the programmer's best efforts
  2:21pm bobbyj:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Stevel:

This is one hell of a set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Whosondephone:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm crateslinger:

Just tuned in. That's not Public Nuisance from the 90's drunk rock squat scene is it? Can't be... mysterious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Andrew Waterloo:

Is Joe not speaking, or am I just a fly?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm tim from champaign:

You OK Joe?
Avatar 2:36pm the glowing one:

I couldn't help but imagine him fumbling with his smartphone during that pause... haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm G:

@braveness: Ask Nixon to poke you if you nod off again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm DCE:

spring reverb jabs add a nice touch
  2:43pm David Shortell:

May I mention that Trash Ride are opening for Lee Bains III in New Brunswick next Tuesday? (I mustn't reveal the address however!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Andrew Waterloo:

Afterall, Nixon's love of waking up those nodding off is the reason they called him tricky dick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm braveness23:

Yeah I was about to comment that I really don't want to be poked by Dick
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Middlename Milhouse:

Avatar 2:48pm Joe Belock:

glowing one, if I only had a smart phone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm braveness23:

This next song is called "Bunny Slippers"
  2:51pm phat:

You're killin' it today bob.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm G:

i have a proud dumbphone. and i'm keeping it till my gf stops complaining about all the shit her iphone does or won't do, every day practically. i'm happy to have hundreds of millions of other people all pay close to $3000 for a two year service contract to de facto betatest those things.
Avatar 2:52pm Joe Belock:

Hi Frenchee, thanks! Hi and thanks Dave, Hi Braveness! DCE! Mike east, G, David S, Andrew, bobbyj, whosondephone, crateslinger, Millhouse

sorry, lost track of time on the comments! thanks for checking in
  2:52pm phat:

I mean, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm DCE:

I'm wichoo, G...I have a fliptop model that...makes calls. It does take pictures too, but I never had a USB cord to get them out.
Avatar 2:54pm kat330:

@G: I'm with you. Cellphone for emergencies only and a non-electric dependent landline works just fine for us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm G:

@DCE: forward the ones you want to keep to your email if you can, or to someone who can get them off their phone and give them to you that way...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm G:

@kat: i haven't had a landline at all since 2009, and haven't had one i used since 2004 (you had to have a landline to get DSL for awhile, as Verizon tried to preserve a dying part of their business).

on smartphones, the screens are too small for me to do online work on anyway. it's way too slow when you have to be messing with the display constantly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Rob (from Mt Hope):

horray for rotary phones
  5:00pm Jeb:

Hey Joe.
Les Terribles (translates to The Terribles).
Pronounce it like this: lay tearREEBle. Hope this helps.
