I'm consistently veg., but whenever I encounter weird game-animal options (locally prepared), gotta do it. That UP spot was a hoot. I'd suggest going off-peak hours though, as it gets full and they go into goofy mode (wait-staff singing happy birthday, all that crap) -- but if it's mellow & nearly empty, tis a groove.

Are you folks familiar with Three Floyds Brewery's Dark Lord Day? It where they unleash their super limited super malty Dark Lord beer. Metal bands play and home brewers bring their brews to share. I can't go this year but I'm going next year for sure.

heh, Pierre, I'm still pretty timid about offal type meats. Typical american, no? (but loved the venison in northern michigan, moose-meat chili in maine, reindeer in alaska, etc) - otherwise it's hippie vegetarian stuff. .... GOD, this dark lord is hungry now.

Yeah, Three Floyds is worth the visit, Cheri. They have great beer, good grub and excellent music. The bartenders have a turntable behind the bar. The past few times I've been there they've played Sleep, Eyehategood, Dead Boys and Saint Vitus. Super refreshing because too many breweries play jam band blugrass jamgrass b.s.

I get that, I'd love some venison too.
I get that in america it might sound a bit gross, but that true that in here (I mean in my family anyway) we're are used to all that left-over meat, it's a thing it use to be not to waste food, and i'm thinking, if you kill an living creature to eat it, at least make it count. :) That's why I guess it was for more poor people. But that is traditions and cultural things I guess.

And I'm really found of Hippie Veggie stuff, i usually make it my daily diet, for about a year more or less. The weird meat is for special occasions and sundays. ^^

I've been veggie 20+ years. As I've aged and my food appreciation has increased, I hang on to it as a dietary control. I know if I don't 'd be gorging myself on all sorts of awesome meats, especially when it came to ethnic foods. I do appreciate the meats though even if I don't partake.
