digging this tartaglia. the 'in my life' cd that george martin put out has a similar version
Avatar 12:43pm
kat330:

@DCE: Ya know what, it doesn't to me in retrospect, but I know we dug it. It was probably a recipe by Adele Davis or something. I also recall making big batches of soy beans with lecithin. Health food daze back in Vermont.
Avatar 12:44pm
Caryn:

@HW: having never actually eaten tahini, don't know what that would be like, but sounds interesting. I'm using my mom's recipe. Finally able to do it with the correct meat, since I found where the local store hides the minced chicken.

@DCE: nope, never had hummus. Hey, I'm living in the middle of nowhere, where the grocery store basically went nuts at the end of last year when they finally got some condensed milk on sale.

"cabbage" was a sexual innuendo in the early bluegrass days.
Avatar 1:02pm
Jan Audun Uretsky:

I was lucky to see Anita O'Day late in her life in a small club...
Avatar 1:03pm

Half an hour and half a cabbage done. In a non-innuendo way.

ICOCBW, but I have a vague memory of De Niro's wife singing "Honeysuckle Rose" in some film. Caryn .... ?
Avatar 1:09pm
Caryn:

@kat: that would be Liza Minnelli in "New York, New York"
Avatar 1:09pm

@pierre: Yes, I think it's used a lot by English-speaking folk as an affectation to seem continental. Or maybe just in old films.

Action was one of the most wicked things to ever air on network TV. Dark biting comedy. But then comedy is very subjective so your mileage may vary. Its satire of Hollywood was really surprising (to me anyway) when it first aired.
