Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thanks for listening to this Valentine's Edition of The Dusty Show. As is often the case, I was not able to realize this show as fully as I'd hoped. I wish I had a few more interviews and a little more music. As it was, I got rushed and had to hurry through it. That said, I hope you enjoyed the interviews and the different ways people were viewing Valentine's Day in 2013.

Other than that ... hello! Thanks for still listening to this little radio program. I'm glad you do. I still enjoy putting them together and being a part of FMU. If you'd like to get in touch, email me at:

dusty@wfmu.org. ----- I'm always happy to hear from you.

Also, you can now find me on Twitter (Clay Pigeon WFMU) and Facebook (Clay Pigeon). Visit me there and check in. Never thought I'd go the social media route, but these days it's almost inevitable. We'll make it fun, right?

Marathon is just two weeks away. YIKES! I am sooooo not ready. I have assembled the songs for Clay's Classics V. Now I can start putting that all tgether. It's a tall order. Lots of great songs, though, I must say. And I'm figuring out some kind of bonus marathon extra, too. Pledge if you can! You are needed.

Fun in the crates this weekend. Some good finds for the next Dusty. Maybe I'll do it live with Fabio? We'll see. Until then ... I really appreciate your support and listenership. You are a good bunch of people. Mean it!

Always remember ....

@kat330 my feed again... On Friday, when asteroid 2012 DA14 approaches within 17,200 miles of Earth, it will be over Sumatra, Indonesia at its closest point while zipping by the planet. That's just one-thirteenth the average distance from Earth to the moon. At its closest approach on Friday at 2:24 p.m. EST, the asteroid will be 5,000 miles closer to Earth than the ring of GPS, weather and communications satellites in orbit around the planet. When the asteroid flies by Earth, the planet's gravity will force the asteroid into a new orbit that won't bring it this close to the Earth for years to come. Scientists think the "Tunguska Event" over Siberia in 1908 was caused by a 100-foot asteroid. This space rock exploded in midair, leveling trees across 825 square miles in the region. If 2012 DA14 did enter Earth's atmosphere, it probably would react similarly — exploding above the ground and causing destruction over a wide area.

@kat: If you like your bubbly BRUT, Spanish champagnes (cava) is excellent, and priced about the same as Korbel (which I consider too sweet). Freshen Net (Freixenet) is the legendary black bottle of that, and there's a few other brands priced comparably at my wine store, but prob. scarce in Middle America.

I think there's a lot of truth in the old clichés about needing to love yourself, or at least, not hate yourself, if you're ever going to be open to finding someone.

Also, from experience, don't dwell on the past so much, or life will pass you by.

Also, chocolate cures all.

@OD: Even more wise words -- you FS folk are just the best! Really that is such a cliché but 100% true about loving oneself first before anyone else can love you. Too many people flit from one relationship to the next failure, never giving the alone time that's needed to know and love themselves.
