Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.

Sara:

Yeah, I didn't set out too, but I didn't want to catch anymore in spring traps, especially not little kid mice. Maybe I can give some tips. Maybe I'm kinda cat like, but don't have a cat. I used a pizza box that the mice got used to that had some slices of old bread in it. They chewed a little doorway into it. Mice like chocolate and peanutbutter and aluminum foil. There was a piece of foil in there leftover and I think they started hanging out there to play with it, and the smell of food for snacks. They are very smell oriented so I read. Let them get used to you moving around the box while they are chewing on the foil or something. And then some day when you can't take the mouse noises anymore, put something over the hole and run outside with it. Or I guess put the box in a thick bag. Supposedly if you take them a couple hundred feet away they don't come back, fingers crossed but walking about a half a mile to a mile is better. I found a woodpile so they wouldn't just freak and want to come bak right away. Hope that was the last one I got about eight out that like they were driving me nuts, hope you don't have too many Sue, hope this can help. Oh yeah and watch out peeking at them too soon mice can jump like crazy when they get scared. It sucks when they get out before you're at the door.
  1:53am
Thierry:

Now, that level of detail can't be found on wikipedia.

@Sara, best comment - really the bones of a meaty short story - ever!
  2:01am
Sara:

Thanks Sue. Yeah they turned me into a desperate huntress, haha. It started by chance, it might take awhile until they chew into the box, maybe start a hole in it and let the food smells do the rest? Thanks Holly. Nice too fleep
  2:02am
Marmalade Kitty:

aww, poor mice! they just wanna chill, eat pizza and listen to Solid gold Hell w/ y'all..??
  2:05am
Holly in NC:

and @Sara, trust me you're not cat-like, thank goodness... a cat-like person would've switched to a glue trap. Note I am a cat person, not a cat-like person ;-)
  2:11am
Sara:

I didn't have any mice downers or I might have tried that. Totally a good reason for pizza. Thanks again Holly, that's really cool. I know Marmalade Kitty, I almost got used to them as pets, but they chew up too much stuff and leave mouse crap all over. I couldn't tell at first Holly. Maybe cat like people might take pcp and chew up mice to the melvins!
