Hey, Holly! Hey, 12539! We're now broadcasting from the lonely little studio on the 4th floor, so the general quietude seems somehow expected!

Hey, it's Feb 24 now. For reasons that reflect the complex Roman system of months and dates, it used to be considered the "extra" leap day during leap years. (Feb 29 is the last day until March, just as Feb 28 is the last day until March in non-leap years, but the extra day was once the 24th).

@Holly: It's OK, 'cause Kevin was after everyone else's arse, including most of his friends' wives.

according to the font of all knowledge the oracle that is... Syd Barratt played guitar on the single "Religious experiences - singing a song in the morning. I always thought that was Barratts backing vocal also but is not credited with singing in the same article.

Artistes were so prolific in the 60s/70s compared to nowadays. Or is it it me?

I remember a friend once told me that he went to see Ayers live around 2005. He then met a band member of his and talked to him about Ayers, and the guy said that Kevin Ayers didn't own any of the rights to his music and he's doing gigs because he wants to be able to support his daughter's wedding. These are little stories like these that you can fully understand the devastating effect of being a creative and fruitful musician, yet naive, in an era where record labels were the devil.
