Come on, steve, it's Friday evening, Iceland-time. Sigurdur is out getting majorly drunk by now!

is the disco frog bag big enough to hold an LP (or several)?
Avatar 4:05pm
XPat of Leche de Noche:

dammit. House full of girls now--no vox.
Avatar 4:08pm
Caryn:

@Mike: WFMU's patented Time Lord technology ensures that the bag is larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. Heck, many DJs save on rent by living in their Frog Disco bags.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm

@dcpat - just tell them to 'Shut the hell up for five goddamn minutes!! I'm trying to create something here!!!'

this is funnier than the new Scott Walker album.
Avatar 4:26pm

but I suspect the humor is about 1000% more intentional.
Avatar 4:29pm

OK, back again, fat and happy.

@pat: I showed my kids a bad music video from the 70s my bandmates were in. It was a Danny Thomas spit-out-your-drink moment for them. They have never let me or my mates (who are friends of the family) live that video down. Cruel shits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm
rsj:

it's so obvious how he panders for pledges, there must be a tsunami of pledges rolling in now
Avatar 4:33pm
XPat of Leche de Noche:

@Carm: I remember what it was like to have nothing to lose... but I DID show my daughter a video of the last group I was in (her mother on bass) and she was actually kind of intrigued. Not enough to watch it again but...
Avatar 4:34pm
Cecile:

It is cruel, pat.
I remember being as excited as hell seeing my parents's yearbooks when I was a kid. It was cool to see them in the clothes of the time, looking dorky like me. It made them more endearing to me.
Avatar 4:35pm
Carmichael:

It should be a requirement that every time a devoted WFMU fan recognizes a fellow FMU T-shirt on the street, he/she must buy that t-shirt a drink.

Outside of New Jersey, at least.
Avatar 4:37pm
XPat of Leche de Noche:

great idea Carm

I keep seeing a WFMU bumper sticker on a car in Ballston, VA but never met the driver. Parked right across from my office all the time. Any of you's??....
Avatar 4:40pm

@Carm: unless there's a listeners' meet-up. You'd end up broke if you followed the rule then.
Avatar 4:40pm

That's sweet Capt. Cecile. You're a good kid...
Avatar 4:41pm

There's a truck parked on the main drag in my town for "WFM Contracting" and I long to be a mischievous teen again and spray paint a "U" on there.

My wife saw a guy with a WFMU teeshirt at the pizza place a year or two ago. Haven't tracked down who it is. It'd be nice to have a real life friend.

I'll be OK with it if it doesn't arrive smelling like pot or BO and I have to infuse it with my own scents.

The minotaur story is kind of disturbing... en.wikipedia.org... climbing into a wooden bull to mate with a bull

i feel like the om shirt would probably have those smells plus incense or maybe burned sage

@Caryn - I meant FOR the good Rabbi, not FROM. He comes on remotely every Friday for the Torah portion of the show and talks about each week's parshas. I don't really know exactly what that is, but I listen almost every week. Its the equivalent of a sermon.

@Mike: yeah, it was lovely. But it seemed as if he brought up one of the big bids, so I'm not sure if he was just reading out loud or if some of the organisations he worked with had raised money. Was listening to Jason and JM at the same time, so some of the details are a bit mixed up.
