Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Thank for listening everyone! And THANK YOU for your generous support during WFMU's 2013 Marathon Fundraiser. What can I say that hasn't already been said about it. It truly was an historic one. It was my favorite Marathon so far, Until next year! I hope you enjoyed the se Flea Market Finds. I really enjoy collecting them and playing them for you. They're not always stellar, but there's always brilliance hiding in there somewhere. Anxious to do some meatier shows soon. I need to get back out there. It's coming. I need to get some sleep now. Work tomorrow and all that. Thanks for your continued support and for tuning in all the time. The FMU DJ's were just reminded of what great listeners we have. Join the Pigeonnaires on Facebook for inside information on the show. Twitter, too. Until next time. Take care and ... Always Remember ... |

Actually they didn't drop "Negro" from US Census forms until just last year--some older blacks still self-referred as such, but the numbers are much lower now.

In fact, the train crossing at the end of the Pet Sounds album came from an FX record from '58, which was probably a stereo novelty at the time (train crosses from one speaker to another).

Happy Upcoming bday @NGH. Did you get hired? I'm almost done w/my first week at my new job. I'm a lowly cog that somehow has an office, not a cubicle! (same w/all the cogs). Next week I see if I can listen to WFMU while working....

@Matt: Sirius. Ha. I worked for XM Satellite in DC before they even launched their first rocket. Strange times. I didn't see where Satellite radio would be worthwhile considering internet radio, etc & that was in 2000-2001 that I felt that way.

When I hear a song Leonard's sung, usually "If I Were A Carpenter", "If I Had A Hammer" or "Abraham Martin and John", I like to say: "This is a good song. But I like the original by Leonard Nimoy better." :)

Other shows for Clay fans: I really love Benjamin Walker's Too Much Information, if you're looking for a non-music show.

In fact, I was shredding leftover chicken during the Fabio/Clay crossover, but I've been letting it soak in korma sauce before heating it after the show.
